It is a fact that A24, one of the best indie distribution´s company ("Ladybird" for example), has decided to buy the movie in December only because Timothee Chalamet was in it. The other actors know exactly that without Timmy starring in it they wouldn't have any movie in theaters at all. He was 18 at the time they made it, but just from the trailer you can already see the talent difference… After a couple of years they had the luck to find a super quality distribution, A24, and a top star in the movie…the other actors and the director as well cannot complain, but say only thank you to Timothee´s huge talent and terrific reputation

I read the script awhile back. It's got zing and individuality even though its overarching stories are largely cliche. I'd say it's gonna be entirely execution-based. Fingers crossed.
Actually now that I think of it, it's a bit like Spring Breakers re: it's tone and structure (specifically the third act).

I have no idea why this movie was received so badly or not at all. I don't know if it's because I see this movie as my own teenage years or if it's really as good as I think it is. Either way, I shed tears multiple times and then laughed at other moments... Just admiring these actors' ability to pull off these scenes and trying to copy them as I always do throughout every movie I watch, lol.
