A truly brilliant exposition on what is really not about man’s so-called ‘free will’, but about the Lordship of God! Thank you!

Is it juat me, or is the cadence of his speech and the sound of his voice reminiscent of R.C Sproul.
Either way, this is excellent biblical teaching.

Jacobus Arminius, the Latinized name of Jakob Hermanszoon, Jakob Is best translated as Jacobus not James. It was a custom in these days for professors: to what is called "Latinize" their name. At first he followed the Reformation but was asked to write an opposition to Dirck Coornhert who was a follower of Pelagius. After studying the writings of Coornhert Arminius became a follower of Coornhert. Coornhert later in 1618 Defended Arminianism at the Synod of Dordrecht. He acted very aggressive so the pressident of the Synod Boogerman pointed to the door and said: "Get Out" Jacob Hermanszoon had already passed away. Zoon at the end of the name means son. Every Arminius preaching was prohibited and those freewill preachers could not preach in Holland and no writings were allowed. That is why there are no writings of Arminius in Dutch. I have all the works of Arminius in English and read them. I would call Arminius a Semi Palagian. One of the things Arminius claims is that God did not have a plan of salvation till after the fall in Paradise, if so; God would be the author of sin. Of course total against Scripture.

What does it mean when he was saying that Dr. Gerstner said "madam I have no hope for you now you're a damn soul not because you don't
believe in election but because you believe that God teaches it and you refuse to believe it" ?
My first reaction is who are we and on what basis, are we justified to make a salvation judgement on another person faith. For simplicity sake, let assumed that this "woman" is a sincere believer the Jesus Christ died for her sin (by simple faith) but she may still not accept certain teaching (or doctrine) expounded by a "great teacher of our common faith". Can this "great teacher of our common faith" damn the soul of that woman because she still doesn't agree with his teaching (in this instance on "election') because he said he explain it from the word of God and she still refuse to believe it ?

At first I thought for sure I'd be in total agreement with him, but I'm scratching my head because he seems to be arguing against his own stated position much of the time.

The American Great Awakening was a reformed puritans movement and the doing of the Lord. Millions came to accept Christ our Lord as there Savior. Claiming that that was the work of a deceiver is crossing a dangerous line. [I rather say Reformed, we do not follow a man. Calvin was just a small part of the reformation.
Edwards's earliest writings brought together John Locke and Isaac Newton in a defense of a religious metaphysics. Later, after a career as a practicing clergyman who led the ‘Great Awakening’, Edwards developed a Calvinist theology founded on the covenant of grace whose center was the experience of an omnipotent God. His views were most significantly spelt out in Religious Affections (1746) and Freedom of the Will (1754).
JONATHAN EDWARDS ON THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD (CALVINISM)
"The Sovereignty of God is the stumbling block on which thousands fall and perish; and if we go contending with God about His sovereignty it will be our eternal ruin. It is absolutely necessary that we should submit to God as an absolute sovereign, and the sovereign of our souls; as one who may have mercy on whom He will have mercy and harden whom He will" (Jonathan Edwards).
The quote above, by Jonathan Edwards, is excerpted from Arminianism: Another Gospel -
    Jonathan Edwards
Most historians consider Jonathan Edwards, a Northampton Anglican minister, one of the chief fathers of the Great Awakening.
Edwards’ message centred around the ideas that humans were sinners, God was an angry judge and individuals needed to ask for forgiveness. He also preached justification by faith alone.
In 1741, Edwards gave an emotional sermon, entitled “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.” No-one in the church had dry eyes. It was not the gifted preacher because Edwards read most of the sermon. It was a strong conviction of the Holy Spirit. News of the message spread quickly throughout the colonies.
Edwards was known for his passion. He generally preached in his home parish, unlike other revival preachers who traveled throughout the colonies.
Edwards is credited for inspiring hundreds of conversions, which he documented in a book, Narratives of Surprising Conversions.
    George Whitefield
George Whitefield, a minister from Britain, had a significant impact during the Great Awakening. Whitefield toured the colonies up and down the Atlantic coast, preaching his message. In one year, Whitefield covered 5,000 miles in America and preached more than 350 times.
Martin Luther said this Gospel of “grace alone” will be for a moment but soon attacked by the Devil. We see so much hate against the sovereignty of God.
Daniel 4: 34 At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and honored him who lives forever, for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom endures from generation to generation; 35 all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?” It is time for Friedman to come to this same conclusion.

Many churches are now going apostate and have been for decades. It appears we are in the final apostasy or falling away from the truth when God is giving people up to their sins and to a reprobate mind.
Matthew 7:21-23 must be preached more often: "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
NOTE: It is imperative that we DO THE WILL OF GOD. This means to believe and to believe means to obey. Jesus said "if you love me keep my commandments." John 14:15
Homosexuality and fornication and rape and lying and hate which is murder of the heart and leads to physical shedding of blood are just some of the rampant sins sending people to hell today.

When we HATE...the target 🎯 is the "SIN" and not the SOUL of the being (human)! I do not hate FOLLOWERS of even the Voodoo or Atheist ⚛️ religion; it's their satanic / demonic theologies/beliefs that I hate the most and all FOLLOWERS of KING 👑 YAHSHUA HAMASHIACH should as YAHWEH does with ALL sins especially the SIN of IDOLATRY and UNBELIEF.

Jesus Christ is God and creator and judge beginning and the end Alpha and Omega. Women aren’t to be pastors or preachers or even to speak on the church anyhow. God predestined the elect to be sons through Jesus Christ our Lord by faith in him and his finished work on the cross

A lie is always based on other words instead of context within biblical truth . A lot of cherry picking as well . The angels also had free will choice . 1/3 turned away from God By free will choice . But angels do not get the Benefit of salvation through forgiveness.
They the angels had the full benefit of being with God in Heaven .

It's interesting how we can br right and wrong at the same time. Why ridicule those we disagree with? Present the others take, as clealry as they are able to, and refute it. This man is foolish.

Hysterical. Of course man is dead in trespasses and sin, how on earth would that prevent man from answering the call that God puts out to all men to repent?! Man has always had the ability and responsibility to turn to God. This was never lost at the fall! The Bible does not teach that the fall caused all people to be born with a sin nature! If this were part of the curse then why didn’t God mention this in Genesis?

    • @blchamblisscscp8476
      @blchamblisscscp8476 4 роки тому +3

The whole message from God is not contained in Genesis. You may as well deny the Torah because it's not contained in Genesis, and go on to deny the rest of the Bible because it's not in Genesis. Where is the Olivet Discourse in Genesis? Where is the call of Moses in Genesis? God only started in Genesis, He didn't finish in Genesis. But to give your foolish question an answer, Genesis 6:5 The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. For convenience I'll skip ahead to Romans 3:11 no one understands, no one seeks after God. When you've read the whole of Romans, especially 8:7-8, and still come to the conclusion Pelagius was correct after all, then Heaven help you and may God have mercy on you.
