Hi Timothy! Isn't Sylva nice? I was wondering if you would attempt to climb those cardiac arrest steps at the old courthouse building, and you did. Wow! Congratulations, you did something that a lot of people wouldn't have attempted, but there are many who do. They need to put a working water fountain at the top of those steps so that those who climb them to the top can be refreshed. Countless people have driven their cars up to the old courthouse proper and parked in the lot in order to see that breathtaking view! That old courthouse building now serves as Jackson County's main public library. County judicial services were relocated about 8 years ago to a new courthouse complex nearby. I really enjoyed this walk and talk tour of Sylva's town center, Timothy! You take care now, you hear? GOD bless!
I believe that picture of the parade at 8:14 was when FDR visited Sylva during his tour of the Smoky Mountains. Also, that first building you showed (0:15) was prominently featured in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017 film). That portion of downtowm transformed into fictional Ebbing, MO back in 2016 while they filmed it.
Where do you call home Timothy ? I’m hoping to end up either in Western NC or NE TN. Would love a little bit of downtown for breakfast/coffee … but nothing too overwhelming w folks ! If I could walk or bicycle into town for that breakfast , even better !
I will be dropping my Dillsboro video on Wednesday. You might like that little town. But it is a little touristy at times. Hayesville would probably be my choice. Hayesville Video I'm visiting every town in NC - Hayesville, North Carolina ua-cam.com/video/gd7dphO5-yQ/v-deo.html I’m from Lexington, NC by the way. And thanks for watching 👍
There aren't a lot of places here that are walkable or bikeable, sadly. Maybe Boone if you're deadset on the mountains but New Bern has a really nice downtown with some amazing breakfast spots

I could have used some water at the top. And a little extra air too. 🤣
