  • Without question the HK416 is the gas piston M4 variant that all others are measured against - it is the most successful and the most proven. It's use by SOF units around the globe speaks for itself. It wasn't the first of its type, but it is clearly the best.
    In this segment from Season 2 of TAC-TV, Robbie Reidsma, from HK USA, and I compare the HK 416 with its civilian counterpart the MR 556.

      It's not really an overall improvement, just an evolution. More specialized does not equal better. Di guns are supremely reliable if not reduced to a 10" barrel, and maintain lighter weight, and lighter recoil. Hk specialized it for cqb.

    I am extremly satisfied with the hk 416. My HV unit (norwegian equivalent to US national guard) recently changed from HK G3 to the HK 416 and it was a real difference, although the g3 is kinda cool and has awesome penetration power. Lightweigth, durable, and very accurate. I am not a great shot, but the HK416 actually made me believe i could shoot ;)

Not sure what i'll get exactly yet but it will fit in with my Ruger Mini 30 when i do get one. After that, a good .308 rifle and I'll be happy and done. I really dig your videos because information is always good and it's fun to see guns that I know I'll most likely never own. I still get to experience them through videos such as yours. Thanks man.

      #Dean Yilmaz. The HK is manufactured in Romania, Bulgaria and Spain, countries without weapons skills, as dared to tell you German quality, HK has supplied machine tools to Saudi Arabia which is the supplier of weapons to terrorists. By force of supplying arms at half price or free for the sole purpose of fighting the group FN, HK is almost bankrupt financial.
      He wants to eliminate Beretta, the croup FN and other European weapon factory? The FN group is very strong with Fn Herstal, Browning-FN, Winchester-Fn, FNH, I notice that the FN group is making a lot of money and H & K is almost bankrupt, even the German army refuses the HK which is bad quality. HK is not made in Bulgaria. But whoever made the point about the plan being made in Germany therefore it is always better to have the German made gun is not true. Look at the AK platform from Russia. Arsenal Bulgaria adapted it and made it the best variation to date, hence why it is the most expensive and highest quality in America. But then again, I am Bulgarian so my opinion is obviously biased.

      As far as if it is more reliable or not, the is debatable. Contrary to what so many people hear about AR15's being unreliable, rifles built to current specs are extremely reliable, and examples of them have been documented to fire 10,000+ rounds without cleaning just adding some lube.

    bullpup systems are the future. you have a compact rifle with a long enough barrel to engage targets at a distance. tavor is ok. the aug is the most under rated combat rifle in history. when we were attached to a unit that had aug i fired it. fell in love. i love the fact you can swap barrel's out like magazines. the ar platform is so popular because of all the options for gadgets.

    • @89tonstar
      @89tonstar 8 років тому +2

      The aug has just never been economically sustainable for the vast majority of American gun owners, coming in at around 2 grand, while both the tavor and the x95 both come in under 1700 dollars and sometimes even less if you get a good deal. Add to the fact a solid well built AR15 can cost less then $800, shoot into an MOA, and have a good reputation along with parts compatibility. Its easy to see why its so popular. The aug has a nasty tendency to have a bad trigger and shoot 4" groups at 100 yards with match ammo.

    • @mastergonzo8423
      @mastergonzo8423 8 років тому

      hey man i love them. i wishi had a drum with lots of ammo and could swap out barrels aand lay down large amounts of hot rocks. swap back to a longer barrel and dope your scope correctly and tag targets. i loved it. every weapon has its drawbacks. i agree they are too expensive and thats what makes it a damn shame. we need some kind of ar platform like the aug. bull pup, ejection port on either side and ambidextrous.

    I have a hard time getting past the MP5. Forget the 9mm aspect. That is not relevant. What is relevant is that I can put three rounds, center mass or center head, at 30 yards, every time without fail. That is how good the MP5 is. They made us run 5 miles, and as soon as we stopped, we had to put three round burst on target or they made us run another mile and do it again until we got it right. Not once did I have to make a penalty round. Out of breath, muscles shaking, sweat running down into my eyes, and three rounds in a five inch group. Raining, dark, foggy, bright sunshine, snow, you name it. And dead is dead, if it's only a 9mm hole instead of a .45 inch hole. And, the MP5 is subsonic, so those three round burst are so quiet you can't hear it from 30 yards away. The perfect weapon. If I need to take out a target at 100+ yards, I'll reach for something bigger.

    • @charliefoxtrotthe3rd335
      @charliefoxtrotthe3rd335 9 років тому +1

      ***** You are very correct. When I said silent, I was speaking in terms of most gun owners language. Silence for a firearm is one that you can fire safely without hearing protection, at least for a few rounds. If you can achieve that, then it is quiet (all things being relative) I did not mean that I can fire it next to a sleeping baby and not wake her up. That is just in the movies.

      And not sure where you were going with the topless thing, the right to own a weapon and the right to go topless are two completely different topics. That'd be like saying because we can carry and conceal, we should be able to smoke crack. Just doesn't work that way.

    Hmm looks kinda like a AR-18 with a self regulating gas block. (Why am I not surprised)
    Great video.

    Why not put a shorter barrel on an M4???

      @fakemail4suckers 9 років тому +2

      0326Ghost Because when you get too short barrel in direct iningment operating systems it causes the timing to be off. Basicaly the rifle tries to cycle and pull the empty casing from the chamber/bore too soon. After discharging the cartrige the casing needs a several hundreths of a second to "cool" (relatively). This is because of thermal expansion of the casing oppon discharge.

      fakemail4suckers But isnt that compensated for? with buffers & gas/or piston like in the AR15 pistol or the MK18?

      0326Ghost Yes you can compensate with a heavier buffer. But you can only do so much with a buffer. As expected it also requires a different size (smaller) gas port in the barrel. The issue with that though is you will eventualy see erosion of the gas port (albiet it willseveral thousand rounds to cause this)
      A piston system usualy has a means of adjusting the gas system which is the solution HK went with in this rifle.

      Okay so what do you think about the Colt piston 6940P or the piston conversion kits
