- This week I react to Unintentionally Frenchified's video about bizarre French traditions. I always like to react to what people have to say about France!

I didn't realise it was possible for someone to feel so passionately about having a plate for their bread, but that woman has shown me haha. Anyway, great video as always :)
Hahahaha yeah. It's funny that it bothered her so much while I didn't even know that existed :p
The first remark's totally true. In Brazil, we eat very often on the go, especially if it's just a small fruit like a banana or we're just drinking a coffee, and I noticed that at least here in Paris, I'm not only "the only one" who does it but also very often older people look weirdly at me when I do so.
I'd no idea either why she talked about germs but it's true that people here sometimes just tear off the bread and it spreads bread pieces on the table, but for me that's just a little bit messy and funny, not so serious.
About the bise: we also have something similar in my country and the number thing that changes between different regions and causes confusions. But I felt like here in France, it's more general and in some situations you really "have to" bise. And in some of these it was with other guys, which absolutely never happens in Brazil (except if it's more opened up guys, that's rather an exception, especially if it's lips on cheeks).
I've never heard of Saint Catherine day...!
Nous, on en fait 4 de bises ici en Haute-Marne .
6:47 😂
you've never heard of Catherinettes? It's not that common anymore I guess but it does still exist as an "excuse" to get out for some drinks with girlfriends, I've seen some groups over the years
Genuinely never have 😂
@@KevinAbroad oh well, it might be dying out
I have never heard of st catherine.
La St Catherine ? Mais qui fait ça ? 😅
Americans are very impressionable: even putting a piece of bread on the table is too much
😂😂
“A bread plate is a small plate for bread that you eat along with your main meal. SIMILAR WORDS: side plate. The bread plate is on the left of the dinner plate. Put bread plates beside the dinner plates for the customers to have bread with their meals.” - Google results.
WTF ???? im french
I’m from the Midwest America as well and I don’t recall anyone having a separate bread plate. If you are worried about germs, clean the table! 🤓
I would say some of these "bizarres" traditions, are more European ,or at least south european, than only french. Don't you think?
Maybe yeah!
