I use it for learning new words instead of SRS, I give it a list of words and ask it to create a story using all of the words included in the list. It's less boring than using anki for individual words, however in order to optimize and use anki algorithm, I create a card, with the front and back being number of the text, so whenever anki tells me it is time to review a text, I just read it.

Oh that's pretty interesting. So how do you assess whether you remember the card or not? If you manage to understand the text well? Or maybe you highlight the words and check with yourself whether you remember their meaning or not?

@@KevinAbroad yeah, if I understood text well and if any word was any struggle while reading.
I learn intensively from time to time and when I do that, anki is a big struggle, sometimes like 2000 reviews, I can't keep that up, but this way I can manage more easily.

Hi, Kevin! Great video, thank you! You are no longer teaching? I know I've missed one or two recent videos, so obviously I am out of the loop. I'll have to watch and catch up!

I use it too and it's overall fantastic, however the one thing that really frustrates me is that it doesnt always remember or follow the prompts if you add multiple layers of prompts during a conversation. It will often ignore a new one and revert to and older one even if you point out to it that's it's very obviously ignoring you. It's like it has a limit or something.

Yeah I've noticed that, too. That's what I meant in the video when I said that overtime you get better at writing straight away what you want instead of adding layers of prompts to correct the original prompt (if that makes sense)

@@KevinAbroad Exactly, but yeah it's amazing what it can do, for me I'll probably never use google translate again for even basic things because chatgpt can just provide more detail, but also explain concepts such as slang words and phrases and can tell you which age groups might even use them. It's incredibly powerful as a learning tool, but as you say it can't replace a teacher because you get to practice actually speaking in real lessons which is most important, at least for me because my reading writing level is now higher that speaking/listening.

Thanks for this one, I did not realize the potential here because I was trying the wrong things I guess. I will "give it a go" , comment le Royaume Uni
