Hunter jumper rider here just getting started with a Tennessee Walker who tends to rush, I'm very experienced rider and I'm glad to see this video which shows that I'm doing things right

I have an extremely forward 6 year old RMH who came to me as a rescue and who has trust issues. I ride her in nothing but a flat leather English noseband hackamore and she is so much more relaxed and learned to trust. The stronger you are with control you get in her face the more anxious she gets and she is essentially being ridden in a “halter”. She is gaiting, turning, backing and going down the trail with no issues and no bit. She won’t ever get one. Bit less works for us.

Let’s not forget to teach the rider to use her legs and seat to stop as well, this woman is heavy on the hands.
