I always explain that I need to actually cast my spells for the best value. So many other decks can just cheat things out and get full value. Even annihilator feels bad against all the tokens and such flooding the board nowadays
The problem with Eldrazi is that they’re bigger green creatures with worse ramp. And they do similar things/have similar play styles. They both ramp into their big splashy spells way before they’re meant to be played, leading to oppressive gameplay. The creatures are big and with annihilator they cause salt whenever they do swing in bc it usually means you’re sacrificing your lands or best stuff at some point. They have custom board wipes, (ugin’s binding, all is dust, Ugin the Uneffable, etc) that are essentially all one-sided, not to mention exile. There’s literally only 2 colors that can escape exile effects that don’t target: white and blue. So every other color is super vulnerable to their wipes/annihilator triggers. Then bc of all the ramp, they essentially can rebuild very easily. And now with access to other colors, land destruction is going to be the only thing they’re particularly vulnerable against. So they’re a pain to deal with early bc their creatures are beefy, they ramp fast and hard, they bounce back easily, their spells and triggers are hard to deal with, and they have tons of support. It’s like Slivers in the sense they also snowball out of control, especially with the new commanders post Zhuladok. 2:00
This is exactly what I was thinking myself (Wrote it on another post below): Eldrazi are just an easier-to-pilot version of Green tactics since you don't get the ramp but you get most of the stuff you need to win on a single card you can usually name as your commander: I ramp, I keep trying to cast my commander and I eventually win when people run out of answers.
@@PensFan96 i mostly play decks that can dodge farewell so their wipes being the most problematic thing aren’t as big for me. I personally don’t care much about eldrazi being at the table. But they are objectively a threat if unchecked.
@@jcstaff1007 Targeted removal, board wipes, return to hands, Eldrazi are just as affected by these types of cards as other creatures, people just sit and sulk and throw tantrums because there is this weird unproven and unspoken mentality that you will guaranteed lose the game the moment someone plays an Eldrazi deck.
@ yes removal exists. Ik. I was explaining why players don’t like to play against eldrazi. They’re often bigger, better, green. Their wipes are hard to avoid outside of blue/white. Yes. You can wipe their rocks/creatures. But IF YOU LET THEM DO THEIR THING, they’ll take over the game.
Eldrazi are only strong in casual commander, as most people are hesitant to swing into a player to keep their life low without provocation. If an eldrazi player sits down, they know their game plan is to survive until the haymakers are deployed. Basically, it's this: if you get run over by eldrazi, you lost the game for yourself.
I somehow made the new ulalek deck that has a presence in the early game with eldrazi cards that cost 3 to 6 mana and can put 10/10 eldrazi cards in mid game, thanks to artifacts. Sadly I have become the threat to everyone forever just because of one game.
The only one I despise is that Kozilek 2.0 that discards cards to counter spells... because unlike the other ones, this one stops my answers against it from resolving. Maybe Void Winnower too, but this one can't be a commander, so I'm less worried about it.
That's the only one I never run because having a spell that cost specifically X to counter target spell that cost specifically X is so extremely situational.
@@Saphire_Throated_Carpenter_Ant Refilling your hand back to 7 is a nice cast trigger, though... and it increases your chances of having the right cards to discard at the right time.
Eldrazi (colorless) have ZERO counter spells or their equivalent, so the ONE eldrazi capable of doing it I feel is ok, the fact Eldazi have almost NOOOOOOO card removal protection is rather exhausting tbh, everytime I see people whine or throw fits over Eldrazi decks I always ask "Well did you have a card removal in hand?" and they always answer "YEAH BUT IT WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING CUSS.....CUSS....ITS JUST HOPELESS!!" and I have to remind them, my Eldrazi die just as equally to a Go for The throat as a 2/2 zombie token does......they just give up and refuse to play when they see Eldrazi.
Hey, i have a question about the kudo bear deck u made 4 weeks or so ago. I have bought the deck and so far loving it to bits. just wondering if you have any upgrade ideas. I was thinking owlbear stuff :3
I use a Rakdos lord of riots eldrazi tribal deck and while it’s very strong in about half the times I win if others players used a bit of removal it would be over for me as I’ve already shown my hand and that I’m indeed in a position to win of course stronger decks can now be made with the new set but what I usually win from is either sarhkans unsealing or I have a turn to wait for until I can attack with my big creatures
they are absurdly undercosted (its too easy to get the mana for them, especially when cards like give you 3 mana of 1 type or etc exist), meaning someone can drop these huge game ending cards early on and if the enemy doesnt have removal, they win basically, even the lower costed ones have absurd value generally
Eldrazi: INCREDIBLY expensive (Mana and dollar wise), SLOOOOOOWW game play, playstyle is battlecruiser from 2007 a very antiquated and outdated form of play when compared to more modern play styles, almost every major titan card can be exiled, killed or put back into its owners hand only like 2 of them have actual hexproof or immune to TARGETTED removal. gameplay is entirely based around slowly putting out a single creature a turn near turn 12 or 13, zero counter support against sorceries or instances, your power doesn't usually peak until turn 12 or 13, Izzet Jimmy: telling you to hold on as he has to flip 17 more coins to see if he gets the 10 extra turns he needs to draw, reshuffle, reset and draw his deck again for the next 45 minutes to see if he can pull his winning combo on turn 2........yeah people who whine about Eldrazi are literally the WORST players to play against,
It’s tough to interact with. Cast triggers, annihilator, they make tokens that fix & ramp their mana, exiling 1/2 my deck, cascade, “cant cast spells of even/odd mana” its more of a nuisance to try to deal with.
I feel like the only people who don't like Eldrazi don't actually understand how to play the game effectively, especially the mono colorless ones. If you're just using them as a top end to a simic ramp deck or something then I guess they could be annoying? But they're still less powerful than the usualy top end of green or blue imo, lol. Extra turn spells or just the crazy green payoffs like genesis wave are a lot scarier since they're more difficult to deal with when it comes to removal, or even board wipes. #UnbanEmrakul
Here´s my issue: Is not that Eldrazi decks are too powerful, as other people mention A LOT of mtg decks and wincons are as powerful if not more powerful. The issue is that it's far too easy to pilot when you compare it to other strategies: I think of Eldrazi decks as an easier version of Mono-Green and/or Gruul: You ramp, you cast big creatures, you turn them sideways and you win. Except with Mono-Green/Gruul you actually have to pilot the deck a lot more to overcome some of the obstacles your opponents might put up as roadblocks to slow you down or even stop you outright. With stuff like Anihilator, Extra Turns, Massive mill, etc. It's just very simple to ramp a lot and keep trying to successfully cast and attack with a Big Eldrazi that will pretty much just brute force your way into winning: You don't have to pick your battles, overcome numbers, overcome interaction and removal through different tactics or different means, your big Eldrazi already has a lot of those things built into so you can just focus on very few tactics without really having to do much about it. The silver lining is that I actually think that if they had WUBRG as a requirement (And not just an option) then it would require at least some more thinking in regards to your mana base, your ramp options, your interaction, etc. The MH3 WUBRG Eldrazi are not enough but a step in the right direction so I do hope there can be seen as slightly more 'fair' for players so it's at least not an automatic case of 'You put ramp rocks and keep trying to cast your commander and eventually just win when you succeed' like it is for a lot of the past and some of the new Eldrazi big cards.
I disagree, Eldrazi is a patience game, yeah ramp ramp ramp yadadada. We run a deficit until we are 5 turns in. You have to think about your mana base, you have specific requirements for your removal.
If you're afraid of Eldrazi, then you haven't met me. I have 157 decks, from Eldrazi, Slivers, Myr, Goblins, Elves, Goad, coin flip, and Stax in each mono color each lead by a Dominus to name a few.
imo eldrazi are high power decks that are hard to beat for casual power decks even if all three players put themselves together. so the solution would be to just play high power decks yourself. same goes for slivers, enchatress, landfall, artifacts, aristocrats and a lot more decks that in one or another way bend the rule 0 in to a grey area. just that some of them actually can be tuned down and also play in casual tables but that also means strong restrictions (that are for some hard to hold onto them)
Disagree, if the Eldrazi player is colorless, they have almost no interaction. You destroy all their rocks in the early game and they are doing nothing for the rest of the game. You also mentioned like a ton of archetypes that are just not overpowered. You must be in a group that doesn’t play a lot of interaction.
I mean people bitch but its totally cool when they turn 3 combo, drop 30 poison counters in 1 turn turn it into a 6 hour game from stax or kingmake the same chosen friend with grouphug every single game. Almost like its only a problem to be a douchebag when the other guys doing it

Tldr: "Eldrazi aren't really that strong, I'm just salty"
Yeah same it’s such a cool deck. I recently took it apart tho for ir dragon changeling tribal and put the big beaters in an herigast deck
They crumble in CEDH, in high power casual expect to get targeted right away but you can still pull through
2:55 the Storm Scale is just for Standard sets 😉
I have never once hated on my destructive hentai..
unless mana..
then bad.
People hate anything strong, lol.
they are absurdly undercosted (its too easy to get the mana for them, especially when cards like give you 3 mana of 1 type or etc exist), meaning someone can drop these huge game ending cards early on and if the enemy doesnt have removal, they win basically, even the lower costed ones have absurd value generally
Eldrazi: INCREDIBLY expensive (Mana and dollar wise), SLOOOOOOWW game play, playstyle is battlecruiser from 2007 a very antiquated and outdated form of play when compared to more modern play styles, almost every major titan card can be exiled, killed or put back into its owners hand only like 2 of them have actual hexproof or immune to TARGETTED removal. gameplay is entirely based around slowly putting out a single creature a turn near turn 12 or 13, zero counter support against sorceries or instances, your power doesn't usually peak until turn 12 or 13,
Izzet Jimmy: telling you to hold on as he has to flip 17 more coins to see if he gets the 10 extra turns he needs to draw, reshuffle, reset and draw his deck again for the next 45 minutes to see if he can pull his winning combo on turn 2........yeah people who whine about Eldrazi are literally the WORST players to play against,
It’s tough to interact with. Cast triggers, annihilator, they make tokens that fix & ramp their mana, exiling 1/2 my deck, cascade, “cant cast spells of even/odd mana” its more of a nuisance to try to deal with.
Adorable. Living cuttonball : )
Currently building an ulalek deck
Let us know how it goes! 😀
Not at all, they are fun to play with and kinda scary to play against, also, it's clear as glass when you beat them or they beat you.
Eldrazi were just the height of MtG power creep.
imo eldrazi are high power decks that are hard to beat for casual power decks even if all three players put themselves together. so the solution would be to just play high power decks yourself.
same goes for slivers, enchatress, landfall, artifacts, aristocrats and a lot more decks that in one or another way bend the rule 0 in to a grey area.
just that some of them actually can be tuned down and also play in casual tables but that also means strong restrictions (that are for some hard to hold onto them)
I don't agree. Eldrazi, Enchantress, and Slivers are mid power decks that seem powerful, but only in casual pods where removal is frowned upon.
Maybe my deck just sucks but I feel like eldrazi are kinda easy to outcheese
Definitely not oppressive, watch most gameplays it probably struggles the most to get going.
Couple board wipes and they be crying
I mean people bitch but its totally cool when they turn 3 combo, drop 30 poison counters in 1 turn turn it into a 6 hour game from stax or kingmake the same chosen friend with grouphug every single game.
Almost like its only a problem to be a douchebag when the other guys doing it
No, we're still banning Slivers AND eldrazi on casual Thursdays.
And if the guy trying to win the game isn't trying to put down the eldrazi player , then was he actually trying to win?
Mono White lifegain + Eldrazi
Late comment but Eldrazi are in the same boat as slivers- too competitive for casual decks and far too weak in cedh.
what is your day job
As an eldrazi player, I hate the pushed new stuff.
You were perfectly ok playing the pushed old stuff though, so I don't know if your opinion should count for anything
@@victorperezurbano9504 I don't play anything with annihilator or overly broken. My eldrazi deck is a casual one. Stfu if you have no idea what you are talking about.
@@AlimTetramorph so you play eldrazi but you don't play anything broken or with annihilator? Wtf are you playing then? How was I supposed to know you only play bad eldrazi? Your comment was straightt stupid because eldrazi have always been pushed, if you managed to create the worse eldrazi deck ever that's another very different thing.
@@victorperezurbano9504 as I said, stfu if you have no idea what you are talking about.
@@victorperezurbano9504 Yeah, if you dont play the good eldrazi, whats to point of playing them. I def picked up the new tentacle mommy and Ulamog.
They feel unispired
Somebody sounds salty AF, eldrazi are just another stompy deck. Emrakul aeons torn is banned and honestly it doesn't even deserve that with all the ways to remove it now.
Alex actually owns 2 Eldrazi decks, he's not salty about them at all! 😆
@@AffinityForCommander fair, to me it just sounded alot like he was campaigning against eldrazi in general, when honestly the eldrazi are in essence just another rampnstomp deck, and their special gimmick is their crazy abilities. Annihilator is strong I'll admit, but it's hardly the first time a deck has focused on making opponents sacrifice stuff
You have to actually draw said cards to use them.
