I came across one of your videos while looking for inspiration to practice drawing - so happy I found it! I love the format: simple and with demonstrations! I’m a beginner in drawing, and I was looking for something that complements what my teacher shows me in the workshop without being overwhelming - and I found it with you!
Thanks PjLewis for your encouraging comment, You're absolutely right it improves your observation skills as well as sharpening up your aesthetic consciousness
I just got back from a trip where I took a lot of pictures with the idea of making sketches! But my photos are on my iPad and I don’t want to use the ink to print. I think I will duplicate the photo then use the crop feature to pull out what to sketch. Thanks for the inspiration!
Love this selection process as a means of getting more drawing practice. I wonder if you could make a video on how we could select elements from different photographs & put them together in a single new and unique image?
Wow! what a great idea I'll definitely work on that. In the mean time can I recommend you google Jeffrey Smart he is brilliant at juxtaposing unusual images. Thank you for the comment
H @MadCityBellsi, I am definitely thinking about your suggestion. It's floating around in my head. I'l try and make it for next week I want to get it right thanks for the challenge.
Firstly, let me say how sorry I am for not getting back to you sooner. It's really simple 1. just get a piece of cardboard 16 cm x 13 cm 2. Draw another rectangle 10 cm x 8 cm. carefully, with a sharp blade, cut through the smaller (10 x 8) rectangle. take your time wth this. When complete mark it off into thirds and halves. let me know how you went
Thank you! I found this really helpful, and I will definitely give it a try..
Thanks Dawn for your comment. I think this system is great for finding fresh and interesting subject matter.
