I'm not animator, but as someone who has watched and studied quite a few animations in my short life, I have to say this was fairly well done. From a combat movement and weapon usage standpoint, at least for Ruby, the motions flowed naturally and were fitting to what we've seen from the character. There are some instances were the animation goes a little out of whack, especially when manipulating the models, but it's overall a good fan work.

Edit: I think it maybe some sort of searching/hunting semblance that maybe make him able to see far... it would explain the eyes and how he was prepared for Ruby’s attack. Like the Byakugan from Naruto.

People complaining about how this guy and Angel are too OP, and I’m over here like... Really? Really?! Based on their models they look older than 17, and certainly older than 15, and therefore most likely fully trained Huntsmen, and therefore, of course they would be stronger than RWBY. It would be insane if they weren’t; team RWBY are huntsmen in training. Not to mention that Ruby is miles ahead of what she has any right to be. She’s a fifteen year old little girl, she shouldn’t be able to swing her heavy ass weapon around for more than a few minutes, let alone fight effectively with it. And if she actually wanted to make use of it, she would have to use her semblance all the time, which isn’t exhaustible. So YES, ruby was defeated by a man three times her size, with a much higher skill level than her. Any other result to that fight would’ve been borderline madness. Not to mention that at the age of fifteen, with a rapidly changing body, ruby shouldn’t even have the natural hand-eye coordination to fight as well as she does. And before anyone says “but it’s anime, real physics don’t matter.” That might be true, but even if the physics are wrong, they must be consistent. Rooster Teeth can’t give us a character like hazel and present him as super strong because of his physique, but simultaneously shit on basic logic by giving us ruby, a fifteen year old GIRL who is stronger than males 2 years her senior, because, ya know, her tiny-ass physique doesn’t mean anything.

To be fair, Ruby was stated in the first episode that she was trained by Qrow, her uncle, who just happens to be one of Ozpin's exceptional elite, as well ad Tai training Yang, Blake from Adam and Weiss seldom from Winter, who isn't quite Qrows level. They all story wise have to be a bit op. Pyrrha however....

This fight instantly becomes hilariously funny when you realize Ruby's enemy is using a fishing rod sword assault rifle. That is a mouthful to say.

I like the inertia and the fact that you can almost feel the weapons' weight just from watching this animation. I like the fact that their movement doesn't quite seem to stop, too.

Lone Specialist Ehh... In all honesty, I was first thinking more "between Charcoal and Silver", and yeah, that walk wasn't the best... But it was at least "flexible" (too flexible in fact...), which is saying something when you consider how many beginner walk animations can look too stiff, like a plastic doll being moved, whereas this one was a step above that - a plush doll.

For fan work, this was done extremely well. This is definitely something you could use in a portfolio. If this is your fan animation, you could without a doubt do this professionally (if you don’t already, that is).

The weapon wasn't the too badly done, but the character model itself looks like Scorpion from Mortal Kombat decided to go to remnant and not care too much about blending in
I'd also like to add that i really love his fisherman motif. I think it's real clever to make his weapon a fishing rod.
Liking this solely for Lee's weapon idea, cause holy shit that is both unique and badass. Props to you for thinking it up my friend.
Great animation! The villain reminds me a lot of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. White eyes, mask, and a chained weapon. Awesome!
The animation does look a bit stiff at times, I mostly noticed this in the beginning, but it slowly started to flow better. Over all, this is a great video.

This is...awesome! Almost exactly like volumes 1-3.
To all the comments saying Ruby would lose here... Tell me what about Ruby is weak? Inexperienced compared to most in her group? Yes, but Ruby has shown time and time again she is a very adaptable huntress, and even at 15 she shows more combat promise than most. The animator did a great job showcasing her fighting ability, however right before she was pierced they forgot about her semblance. She can literally warp her body forwards with the speed, and gained distance. The animator also forgot about Ruby's silver eyes... True we don't have much information...and it was only shown once but if they're going to create a team that kills every member of team RWBY at least let them use all their quirks. The animator is simply creating OCs and killing the main cast, we know this. Its their right, they're the animator and they're the one uploading... Doesn't mean their characters would actually win in the show, nor are they in the show so no need to get defensive over the animation. At the end of the day just observing it as an animation it was very well made. Some of the movements were a bit klunky, but that is a miniscule detail is an otherwise excellent animation.

Ruby is very talented, but she is still just a child who got to the Beacon only thanks to Ozpin's kindness, and even then she didn't finish training because the academy was destroyed. She cannot be at the same level as a hunter, whose work experience is many times greater than her. It would destroy any logic.

I honestly do not understand the reason why people think Lee killed Ruby ... Lee's last attack obviously must have hurt Ruby, but she did not die, she just used her Semblance to escape Lee. And this was confirmed with the video of the fight between Weiss and Angel that is an obvious continuation. Ruby apparently fought Lee during the same time that Weiss fought Angel.
Ruby ran away from Lee, and she ended up stopping near the same spot where Weiss fought Angel. But unfortunately for Ruby and Weiss, Lee obviously knew Ruby had escaped, so he went after her.

Will people stop complaining about him and Angel being OP?! It’s called common sense and character writing. Assuming that Lee and Angel are older than team RWBY, they must be professional huntsman so of course they’re gonna beat them, especially Volume 1-3 team RWBY. This isn’t canon, and again they’re professional huntsman with more experience and better skills, so OC or not RWBY would definitely lose. Plus this is a much bigger project, which I think means there is going to be more than just the four trailers, it’s like a story. And in most stories, when a villain is introduced, the heroes will get their arses kicked, giving motivation for the heroes to get stronger. Team RWBY will lose so they could get stronger and eventually defeat team KCAL. Speaking of which who are the other members? A is obviously Angel but hat about the other two, what names would fit for a sound wave(?) and a red eye?

So many people are like "This is over powered" or "It Should of Ended BLAH". Why don't you take the time to appreciate he actual animation itself? Sure it's choppy but it's pretty good for a Fan Made Animation. Also, this is the first ever OC to have a fishing rod in his weapon!

That was amazing and very well made.
I personally think Lee needs some real eyes (instead of just pure white. Unless you have a reason why his eyes are like that.). The possible killing Ruby was meh. The action was nice and so were some of the expressions. (Though Lee needed a little work, mostly due to the fact that half his face is covered up and his eyes are white.) And besides that, all I can say is what Renegades React already said "FIIIIISH!!" (Because I actually do like the fact that his weapon can turn into a fishing rod. That was pretty creative.)

There is a handbag that turns into a railgun. The weight on that would make the whole thing unusable altogether. No weapon in RWBY is too impractical.

I have a number of drawings that put this one to shame in terms of impracticality, bud, but I've never even once heard anything about impracticality on the RT forums, where I would post them with the... *cough* 31 RWBY-based OCs that I made in the time of Volume 4's production... And let me tell you, some of them are pretty darn impractical. This one is pretty darn well conceptualized in comparison.

Counterargument: They never found Ozpins original body and Pyrrha got decindergrated. Roman got swallowed in one go by a Grim. The only body of a character that was ever shown was Penny and she might not even be completely dead if her main processing unit is still undamaged! At this time there are more cases of characters that died without leaving a body than the opposite!

Animation was awesome, your OC's weapon was cool...But I didn't like the ending and your OC's character design just really isn't my thing.
Personally If I could create a character. Id have him lose... not All characters Have to be the Absolute strongest to be good. If this guy can beat anyone no prob. Then theres no excitement. And no motivation. Hes A generic badguy. And is created to be Flawless... which is not compelling tbh. No offence. But if he can table ruby this easily. Then its kinda insulting to rwby

Nah, this is actually a good (but really basic) way to introduce a character 1st.
In anime (Atleast from the ones i have seen) when you move from villain to villain or season to season;
the writer usually showcase what are the possibilities with the new characters. A new character beating the main character in such easy way just hints how much (in this case Ruby) needs to improve in order to beat this new challenge. Lee show to be stronger (He just cracked the ground with a step...) than Ruby and with reflexes able to match and counter Ruby´s speed (i gonna guess this is related to his semblance) but hes not the 1st one to be able to counter Ruby´s fast straight forward moves (Metal Gun Legs Boi says hi).
Now let´s say Lee lose and Ruby wins, what´s next? There is nothing after that, no problems, no questions, what to expect? This endin works as you have something to expect next (obvious rematch with a better Ruby which may know more about this Lee)
It´s really basic level writing but passable.
What the heck? Of coarse any broken character is a huge turn off to any viewer trying to watch some decent plot. Though one shouldn’t make RWBY OP as hell just cuz she’s protagonist. That itself is also an issue. I would agree with you if this bad guy was just as trained or experienced as RWBY, but if he has the training of an elite seasoned hunter like crow or raven well I could understand why he would have rekt her this badly. It’s like comparing the skills between any professional to a that of a novice. Though again if he was on the same level of experience as RWBY then this is one badly made fight to make this character look coool.
The figth wasn't one sided and ruby being defeated wouldn't even be so strange considering she is a hunter in her first year of training, a novice.

I think you are forgetting that Ruby is quite a weak character, she is competing with Weiss for the weakest member of team RWBY
More importantly she fighting with a guy ready to kill her, there is a large difference in experience between them
