    I’ve had my X300!for 5 years and still love it. Zero problems. I’ve added a few things to fit my 6’3” frame, but now fits like a glove. Did my own mods for the seat… way too hard from factory!

    I own the 2018 model, no regrets, fantastic and versatile. I drove long road, commutes and gravel roads. At first I bought it because of the low seat hight, and I lower the seat a further 10mm. No regrets love my bike.

    After doing lots of research and watching lots of reviews, i have also chosen that Versys-x 300 months ago.
    Reason #1 = wanted a versatile bike : 75% road and 25% light trail. VX3 ✔
    Reason #2 = had to be light weigh and nimble. VX3 ✔
    Reason #3 = price was a big factor as i had a budget to respect. VX3 ✔
    Reason #4 = fuel capacity, range and MPG had to be good. VX3 ✔
    Reason #5 = might be silly but the dashboard (tach, speed and gear indicator, + other details) had to be to my liking. VX3 ✔
    As for being comfortable, i don't do long rides so it wasn't a concern. But i will buy some kind of padded seat to add to the stock seat for the occasional 4-5 hr rides. Good review btw.

      These are all good reasons! I forgot about the fuel mileage! Thanks for watching

    I've been riding the Versys since 2019, and I've already covered 56,000 km without any regrets. Using Sinko 805/804 has been a great experience. Have a fantastic day, mate!

    I thought I had reached the end of VX300 content on UA-cam. Thought I'd seen it all. Even the non English language stuff.
    But here you are, cranking out excellent videos. And the best part... You're riding in and around the metro STL, my long time home area. I wonder why the UA-cam algorithm hasn't sent your channel my way before now?
    Thanks for sharing, and I can't wait to see more!

      @@SheldynRyder unfortunately, I moved to South Florida from St. Charles county several years ago. I can say that a ride someday isn't impossible, but it would require about 1200 miles to get me there.
      It is nice to see the back roads of Missouri and beyond through your lens though. I didn't start riding until I moved south, so I sometimes wonder how much fun I missed on two wheels in the show me state. Thanks again!

      I will keep that in mind if I visit Florida! I visited Cedar Keys on the VX3 last December (it's still probably far away from your area). I would love to do a ride from Key West to the West Coast.

      @@SheldynRyder YES!
      That's the dream, the reason I took the MSF course and bought the VX300. A ride from my home in West Palm Beach (or the Keys, to make it more completist) to the Pacific and back. To be fair, your videos of 9k rpm all day for hundreds of miles gives me more hope that this is the bike I could do it on.

    • @SheldynRyder
      @SheldynRyder  5 місяців тому

      That would be a sweet ride!! If time wasn't a factor, all backroads would be amazing. The VX3 would be perfect. At 70, the VX3 feels great. I tend to push it above what it likes to do and find myself riding at 80, which feels like I am pushing the VX3, but I guess I can say it it's taking the abuse.

    This is my next bike for sure. It will be perfect in Cambodia and checks all the boxes for me. They are very rare here but I see a few pop up on the used market, likely imported from neighboring Thailand.

    I got a 2023 x300 earlier this year. I wanted a bike that was lightweight, long maintenance intervals, had a relatively low seat height, spoked wheels and could go on the freeway to get to my off-road trails. It's not great at one thing, but it's good enough for everything I need. My only complaint is the seat sucks, tubed tires and the oil filter is in a horrible spot. I Average 64 mpg on regular gas

    • @SheldynRyder
      @SheldynRyder  5 місяців тому +1

      That is an awesome summary of the bike. The seat concept is worth its weight in gold. It is expensive, but man, does it make a difference.

    I have an X-300 I bought two years ago as my first bike. I upgraded to a Suzuki V-Strom 800DE last year, but I still enjoy riding the Versys from time to time. My wife rides a cruiser, but when we go on gravel she rides the Versys and likes it a lot. I don't like the seat...I think every review I've ever seen on this bike talks about the lousy seat. I installed a gel pad seat cover that just straps on...not ideal but inexpensive and it helps. My other issues with the bike are the extremely low gearing, and how much wind tosses me around on the highway on this feather-lite bike. I've contemplated putting in a 15-tooth front sprocket to address the gearing issue, but the wind is just something to get used to. I've put some Givi pannier racks on it, but other than that and the seat pad, no other mods. Actually been thinking about selling the bike and getting a Honda CB50X or something comparable. But it is a fun little bike to wander around in the woods.

    On my second 300x , both were used with multiple mods already. Both bikes came with the Kawasaki taller seat that l really, no funky seat shape just a bit taller and firmer.

    I'm a Kawasaki fan(atic). I have ninja 400, Ninja 650+ a 150 KLX. If Kawasaki came out with a Versys 400, I would've bought it. However, the CFMoto 450 MT is a better choice for me right now.

    • @SheldynRyder
      @SheldynRyder  5 місяців тому

      I would be surprised if Kawasaki didn't eventually offer a 400-500 Versys-X, but it seems they are in no hurry. I wouldn't mind taking a CFMoto for a spin though. Thanks for watching!

      The CFMoto will be scrap metal when the versys is still breaking in. KTM engine = 💥

    I see you have supports from the windshield down to the upper cowl. interesting, I've not seen that before. I've commented on your videos about also wanting to have a quiet bike - meaning no wind noise and no helmet buffeting. Your three reasons are all right at the top of the list for sure. With your 32,000 miles on your X300 how often have you done the valve adjustment/inspection ? I'm under the assumption that after the first adjustment at 7,500 miles the valve won't change as much and stretching out the intervals is ok to do.
    I've been a subscriber for many months already. I look forward to your content.

    • @SheldynRyder
      @SheldynRyder  4 місяці тому +1

      Yeah, the supports were something that I was experimenting with. They definitely helped with the windshield flex on the highway, but could have been thought out a bit more. I've only done one valve inspection at around 15k. I paid a shop and they did not need adjusting at the time. I would say I am due for another inspection, but have been putting it off. I got a quote from a shop for like $900 and it didn't seem worth it to me. I believe I will check them this winter. Thank you for the subscription. I have been subscribed on my personal channel for a while, as your channel helped me alot when I was swapping to LEDs, and I also inquired about those white electrical connectors under the front fairings. I tapped into those for my Garmin Zumo. I just subscribed on this channel as this is the only one I use anymore.

      I usually choose the Shinko 804/805, but I currently have a 705 on the rear and do not mind it. The 805 is more off-road oriented than the 705, so I think I will stick with the 804/805 for a while.

    If I wanted a 300cc bike it would be the Honda CRF

    • @Mikeycambovideos
      @Mikeycambovideos 2 місяці тому +2

      The Versys is a twin cylinder, straight out of the Ninja 300. The CRF is a single cylinder. Two totally different animals even though they are “300”. Cheers.
