Not something you would see in Australia or the US. In general the fans in Europe are more crazy/fanatic. The point is, that almost the whole of southern Europe has multi-sports clubs. So if you are a fan of a certain club in football, it is obvious you are a fan of the whole sports family. It’s because the NBA is filled with overpaid divas who are just not relatable to their fans. As a result fans in America are just not as passionate. The closest we get to this is College Football, because those are our “kids” out there playing for our schools and/or home city/state. NIL risks changing that too as players in college are now making upwards of Millions of dollars to play….but as it relates to basketball, NBA arenas will never have this type of atmosphere, that ship sailed long ago. The players are simply to rich and quite frankly soft. Why would someone get so invested in their NBA team when the biggest stars in the league can’t even be bothered to play 70-75 games in an 82 game season? 🤷♂️
I’ve personally been to both. College football is nowhere near these arenas. People in Europe have been taught since they were children to defend their side and hate the other side, like Pana and Olimpiakos or aris and paok
