I had a similar day in the same spot. Caught about 65 by myself in the kayak. Love shrimp under a popping cork for 45 of them. Every cast then switched to top water and caught about 10. Then switched to a matrix shad after I got tired and caught another twenty or so. Best day I’ve ever had. I’ve been on a few white trout bites out there close to that. Just got to get out there and get lucky.
I’m back in town Nov 17, got a friend coming in town. I’ll give you a call about it. If the kings are still close in I wouldn’t mind an offshore run too.
Great day Scott. How deep was that water? And was that a vudu shrimp? I got on a bite like that once anchored up in my kayak on a Florida grass flat...I was catching everything (trout) on popping cork...I even ran out of shrimp and started using fiddler crabs! Still every cast! I thought "I'm going to experiment" so I put on a zman paddletail and made 27 casts and caught 7 fish....went back to my popping cork and started catching on every cast again. That's one of those days a guy never forgets
Yep! That’s the one I usually wind up getting, mainly because everywhere has them not so much durability haha. I’ve seen those around when I’ve fished in Louisiana but I have yet to try one, a little too rich for my blood haha. Thanks man, I appreciate you watching!

damn that looks too fun! Caught my 1st speck last may on our vacation surf fishing for pompano. Was so excited to check another species off my list.
No doubt about it! Nice! They’re about my favorite fish to target inshore
Y’all killed’em
Definitely a day I won’t forget! 🙌

Thanks Jason! We were in 6-8ft of water. That’s the Tsunami tough tail. Sometimes the popping cork is the magic ticket!
Is that a Cajun thunder popping cork? Is that your preferred brand? Have you tried a 4 horseman? Thks. Enjoyed the video. You killed em!

@@KayakingKennedy thks for the info!👍
Would you think it’s dangerous/ bad idea to fish the bay in a Jackson Kilroy? It’s a sit-inside 12’6” kayak.
I don’t think you’d have any problem as long as the weather cooperates
@@KayakingKennedy kool. I’m thinking about hauling it down there and fishing on Christmas.
