The most beautiful recitation of Desiderata and with the most beautiful accompanying music that I have ever heard. I bought this LP album as soon as it was published back in the late 1960s.
This was recorded by Leonard Nimoy in the late 1960s. I believe the music is his own (I agree, it's a bit loud). I really like this version, but the original poem ends with "Be cheerful. Strive to be happy." I don't know if Nimoy changed it to "Be careful. Strive..." but I like the original. The version of the poem I found online is all one paragraph, and I like how this is broken into stanzas, which I think is mainly Nimoy's doing by pacing his recitation. But the captions syncs to that pace quite well and I like the imagery. I think this pacing enhances the poem quite a bit. LLAP
Beautiful, only Leonard could have told this so wonderfully. To all Star Trek fans LLAP
Yep. I have his poetry and music from his albums which I still treasure.
I listen almost daily, wonderful words to live by thanks for including the lyrics
Thank you for this Dearest Darling Tenn

I used this as the closing bit on my online radio show a few years back.

Try turning down the volume, then. 🙄
