Btw to answer your Lose It app questions! It is a calorie counting app, the emotional questions don't actually impact the calculations (it gives you different calorie options depending on how fast you want to lose weight. Amberlynn has also used this already; she's shown it on video and complimented it too.
I also use this app and have used it to lose 55lbs, really hope she can do the same instead of not using it properly and then saying calorie counting doesn't work-😭

Even if Amberlynn were capable of using her UA-cam experience to try to get a new job, who would want to hire her based on her existing body of work? Who's going to pay her to edit their video the way she edits hers? No one.
Not saying she’s a narcissist, but as a mental health professional, they are the hardest to work with in therapy. They think they can do everything better on their own and think the only problems they have are out of their control/the fault of others. I think you’re on point that she is saying what she thinks the audience wants her to say, she wants to be admired and doesn’t want people lecturing her about the same thing over and over.
Also, I’d say the vast majority of my 600 lb life cast members are living off of disability and family members. If she lost her channel, that’s how she would make money. I don’t think losing her channel will be a wake up call.
As a retired one, there’s no doubt in my mind she has NPD. She was once diagnosed with OCPD (according to her) but never went to therapy to actually work on it or look if the diagnosis fits best. I highly doubt she ever went to more than one or two therapy sessions in a row, too many things she said don’t make sense. It was especially easy to recognize during the WLS - saga, I led a support group for bariatric surgery patients and general weight loss/eating disorders, even most of her claims about the dietician and surgeon are easily disprovable. Just like what she said about the definition of binge eating disorder, that every health care professional has a different understanding of it when there are clear guidelines which are very different from what she said.
@@juliaspoonie3627yes!! And then she just decided to change doctors and diagnoses because the first dietician didn’t want her binging for a year (which she probably knew was impossible). She claimed to have a food addiction which according to the majority of eating disorder specialized dieticians isn’t even a real disorder, it’s just a cognitive dissonance (or something similar to that, I can’t think of the exact word😕) but because it fits her narrative online and so everyone can think that she has perfect eating patterns and was a perfect patient, she will doctor shop and she will make up all this stuff.
I love that wifey is refusing to walk Twinkie. It’s probably what’s best for Amber, she might not get out of bed otherwise.

I have a rant building up inside me as someone who followed her through her bipolar/bpd phase and how our lives moved in two completely different directions since I was diagnosed a few months after her. I am a little irate at the acting out she does and the lack of healthcare that she does for her mental health. She clearly has something else like npd, but I am just so done..
Her calling it a 'heartbreak era' is the most self-centered and manipulative thing she could do at this point. Making her life a game/movie so that she doesn't have to feel any emotions and can keep writing her fake life story. I gotta go vacuum or something.

@marlyd This is the real issue for me on top of the fact that she insists on framing her personal story as one where she's basically an endlessly victimized Mary Sue.
There's really nothing wrong with framing your life as a story. Human beings connect with stories easily, and it can help people to not internalize their issues. You can look up narrative therapy to see more. The thing is, the goal of narrative therapy is to reframe yourself as a hero instead of a victim and ALR seems incapable of that.
Wasn't she never actually diagnosed with bipolar. Some random councelor or something just said she might have symptoms of bipolar and she just ran with it.
@sbw9560 There was a time when she said she was on medication, though, and it was the same that im on currently. She then stopped taking them saying she didnt believe in meds. It was a long while ago. There was a lot she did, and still does that made me inclined to believe her since, i mran she said she was on meds. Either way, she has a personality disorder of some sort and is refusing to get it treated, which is irresponsible at least and dangerous at most.
The part where she's talking about Lose It and how much weight her supposed 'friend' had lost, and Zach is just breathing in and out trying not to explode had me in stiches. hhHhahahahah
I'd be willing to bet a lot of money on that 'friend' being a Lose it ambassador or PR/sales person of whatever kind they have that spam people on social media

People do lose weight without getting as big as Amber. For me improving my mental health is difficult because at least with weight you can SEE that your choices/lifestyle isn't good. With me trying to make better choices for myself I'm not always sure-- I've started keeping a calendar to mark my good and bad days so I can "see" it.
Guess none of us should be surprised that another cycle has begun. Makes me wanna go to the gym twice as much. I'm down weight, up muscle and feeling fantastic 💪❤😊 thanks for the entertainment Zachary!

I use loseit. The questions in the beginning help how it interacts with you. So for me I answered about having trouble sticking to goals, so it gives me little congrats messages and positive reinforcement for lots of little milestones (not just weight, but like how often I weigh in or track food) to encourage me to keep going. Kind of like achievements and cute stickers for reaching weight milestones.
I actually started because I don't want to be like AL. I'm down 17lbs so far :D

I also use Loseit and I love it so much! I like that they also give a lot of helpful information if the algorithm notices you aren't meeting certain goals. Like protein in take, or fiber, etc. (depending on what you're doing)
And the little stickers and motivational messages really give me some dopamine 🤣

Maybe it's not youtube itself, but the money that she makes with ease from youtube definitely supports her addiction. If she wasn't making thousands a month doing very little, she wouldn't be able to spend thousands a month on food and takeout. Yes she needs to work on things heavily psychologically, but it definitely is a factor in the problem as you said.
She would likely find a way to get food anyway, maybe cheaper food, but I imagine she would even max out credit cards to buy food given how addicted she is.
She’s heavily dependent on ChewTube, it is one of her mainline enablers.
She legit needs a real job, something that requires her to move around and be super busy so she doesn’t have to only think about herself all day long. She’s so self centered and her being bored all day long puts her in a place to eat more and have anxiety about NOTHING.
You know how it is when you’ve had trouble keeping a romantic partner? You’ve met them in all sorts of places, been introduced by friends of family, had blind dates, used computer apps and even recycled old partners to try again but yet you’ve never managed to maintain a relationship for more than two weeks? And this has been going on for almost 20 years? At what point do you realize that the problem is very likely YOU?
I think Amberlynn needs to realize that it’s not the diet, the diet plan, the MLM, or the diet app that is the problem. It’s HER!

@@wooogie672i agree. Additionally, she talked about eating other kids' lunches in school, so I could imagine she snuck food in her room/ bed/ wherever as well. When kids come from food insecure backgrounds, some therapists recommend giving them their own snack stash to soothe their anxiety, so If her foster parents did that and restocked it multiple times a week plus the school lunches and regular meals- idk if it's enough to get this big but it sure is a lot of food and I doubt she was as active as she claims to have been (dancing Queen/ national soccer treasure).

I personally think she didn’t have much/consistent food when she was her parents. So once she was placed in the home/with foster parents with consistent meals/plenty of food she had no real hunger cues/appropriate reaction to food
It’s fine to compare her to my 600 lb life. People like Penny had a lower starting weight at their first weigh in than Amber’s current weight. Amber Rachdi, a huge success story, has the same lipedema in her legs that Amberlynn says make it completely impossible for her to ever lose weight.
Absolutely mindblowing ability to twist and misunderstand everything. Money has a huge impact on her weight. Being food insecure made her sneak food and eat everything in sight. Any opportunity she got, she would get food, find it, fight for it, hide it, etc. Whenever she got money, food is fisrtom the list. She must be very uncomfortable if she ever feels tyat there isnt a huge abundance of food available. She needs to reaffirm again and again that she has it and everything is fine
exactly, even her food aggression can be explained by how she had no money growing up. food was scarce and she had to make sure she ate it when she had it, so she screams and gets angry at people whenever they eat what she considers hers.

32:11 - Do you, Amber? Do you "love the act of filming"? Or do you just love having an outlet to talk in stream of consciousness about yourself? Because she's been on youtube for so long and she's still doing beginner level filming and editing. She rarely does anything creative with either one and when she does it seems like more of an afterthought than it does something she's actually put work into. I don't know, as someone who was not too long ago crying over my dying computer because I don't want to lose my not technically pirated photoshop and is constantly hunting for cheap lenses for my DSLR, that comment was just wild to hear from a woman who could easily afford the subscription fee for premiere pro or a higher quality camera and lenses because of her 10 year fulltime youtube job yet STILL edits on her phone and couldn't set up a decent shot to save her life. It's just like the way she talks about writing. She doesn't actually enjoy the craft of these things, she just likes to be able to say that she loves to do them because it makes her feel special.

Lose It is like My Fitness Pal and goes by calories. The only difference between those apps and WW, is that WW goes by points.
She needs to go to therapy and get inpatient treatment for food addiction and stop using Lipedema as an excuse, she also has Lymphedema which is where the inflammation is coming from due to her crappy diet.
Mark my word, in the next couple weeks here's what we are going to hear: "Faleen had a family emergency and since I can't move by myself I'll be here a while. Alone. The noises you hear : running water in the kitchen sink , dragging chairs across the floor is the cat and the upstairs neighbors watching TV in the ,I mean their bedroom."

Bruh she is starting at 1800? You don’t start your calories at your goal weight . She literally has no idea how to lose weight. She was eating 4000+ calories for years and thinks she will be successful on that little food. She has to start high and work her way down as she loses weight . She will starVe herself for a week and binge again because she is starting way way too low

It is so damn frustrating. If she worked with professionals, they would tell her that significant restriction is only gonna worsen the BED. People think Amber doesn’t listen to professionals because she thinks she knows better but I see it as an issue of control. She is scared shitless to hand over control to another person likely because of fear of failure. It’s much easier to fail on her terms with no accountability. Then she can just go back to her addiction when she wants to.

She has to lose more than 2 of me to get to what would still be considered an unhealthy weight for her height. That's daunting. I can't even imagine. How overwhelming. She sure got herself in a pickle.
She could lose me 3 times and still be a healthy weight for her height. I’m a little over 5’8. It’s so shocking to imagine it in terms like that, isn’t it? Boggles the mind.

I think it’s odd that Amber mentions swelling as a result of being more active, and if I remember correctly, she talked about it once before with her hands swelling when she walks. I experience that too, but not because of lip/lymphedema but because of blood pooling with POTS. She’s also claimed to have low blood pressure (esp. for her size), a really high heart rate (that she blames on anxiety), and she’s always eating loads of salt... I’m starting to think our gorl doesn’t even have anxiety or any of the other stuff she claims, I think our girl might just have unmanaged POTS, with lip/lymphedema.

Can’t take accountability-Lynn… we all had shitty childhoods. You would never catch me as a 36-year-old woman blaming anything on that at my age maybe when I was 16 making bad choices for some attention but not now.

had a real shit childhood and teenage years. I was an absolut asshole from 16 to 18 but guess what? now at 25 I've grown and worked on myself and am now a very pleasant person to be around (still have my moments but I can see that and apologize after)

She really needs to like check herself into a program where they control everything and make her do therapy and stuff. She'd probably immediately check herself back out after 2 days
Would she get here eventually if she did something besides You Tube? My opinion, yes. YT has given her the privilege of both money and flexibility of time to get the help she needs and isn't getting it. If she had a job outside You Tube, it most likely would have taken longer to get where she is. I think if she had less money, she would be more careful about wasting it. If she worked outside the home, she would not have the time to eat as often as she does.
