I think the real magic is those mice. Mice have a lifespan of two years and yet they're still alive when Ella is an adult.

LOVE seeing Ella's mama. Shes a character thats always so glossed over, you wonder if Ella herself can even remember her!
Since her mom died when she was young, it's possible that while Ella may not remember her mother's physical appearance, she did remembered her mom's lessons on being kind. Plus, Ella's decision to stay in her family's house, where her best memories of her mother are held, and keeping her mom's dress are ways for her to honor and remember her.
Cinderella is sooo lucky her parents are Agent Carter and Professor Lockhart.

Kenneth Branagh only directed the film. He didn't play Ella's father. Her father is played by Ben Chaplin here instead

Steffany k I agree this scene should have been in the beginning of the movie it’s so wonderful to see how Ella had a wonderful childhood before her loving parents passed away leaving her with an abusive stepmom and 2 abusive stepsisters

It’s so frustrating that they deleted all of these. Beauty and the beast one of the worst live actions was 2hrs this one was 1hr and still to this day the best 🤧. How are you doing God bless.

It feels....A little too happy if you know what I mean? Like if Ella is about to be stung by a bee I don't think her mother would be laughing.
I don't think she was in danger of being stung. I think Ella always had a connection with animals whether they be mice or bees or lizards etc. I think her mother was just informing her it was time to stop playing with the bee.
So is nobody going to talk about how at 1:08 baby Ella sounds just like baby Rapunzel???

I'm a mom and aunt to several nieces and nephews so I've heard all kinds of noises from babies and they never ever sound creepy like that! Even videos on tik Tok and etc that have funny moments of babies laughing at all ages from a few months old to a few years don't sound like that. it's just not natural to me I think they took a babies real laugh and did something to it like they do to singers voices, I just don't understand who in the hell said yes that laugh sounds ok and not one said fix it cause it sounds cringey creepy fake.

Can I just say that we need a back story to Ella's mother. I imagine her to have been raised as an orphan that triumphed through the most difficult of circumstances and learned through her own experiences that kindness was the true key to happiness.

I don’t think they should have included all of these scenes but I always felt that a few more would have been excellent! Especially in feeling more invested in her mom, which I thought from the first watching was rushed.
Talking about deleted scenes i need to know where the heck is any "deleted" scene with the main theme song "a dream is a wish your heart makes" , that song is part of my childhood and so is the oriģinal film from the 50s ; there's a version of that song recorded for this film but too bad it doesn't appear in the film & it gets on my nerves :/
That would be during the end credits and the movie soundtrack.

This alternate beginning was quite emotional and very cute💙 Seeing Ella as a child and how her parents loved her so much, also seeing how she also knew Gus Gus and Jaqueline since she was little🐀🐁
I think they could have left it to give more depth to the prologue.

2:50 the mise were so bad made, this is probably because they understood they wouldn't use this scene so they didn't work more on it
they decided they didn't want this scene in the film so why put the effort in making them realistic, they just put the mice there just to see how it would look

God Hayley Atwell looks gorgeous
I seen this movie only once and it didn't sit with me very well. This opening stands out and I like it much more then the one they used in its place. It has a lighter fuller fill to it and seem to be more in line with the base of every Cinderella movie I have seen (that is a lot of them) where the opening is important but needs to be filled with the right kind of feel of life before getting into the more dark side of the story.

How would have been if Cinderella was a real character in this 2020?
It irritates m tht this wasnt the beginning we seen. No offense but the movie was a bit too rushed for me I wanted more family development which this movie did infect lack. It would have been nice to see the depth contrast between the happy and the sorrow. There are key factors you took from the movie and the one being depth.
