Next time copy the spider the same way you did the Black Widow letters then said the canvas to the size it needs to be and paste them on top of that then make your adjustments should get less Distortion then. Nice work what editing program is that you're using?
Hello again Ruiraptor. I was attempting to load the bootscreen.h file you have on your drive site, when i use Adrunio in indicates it can only open native sketches and files ending in .ino or .pde, suggestions?
am i the only one who cant find an image program that has custom rotate options? Can't seem to get past the 1st step the the image editor your using, @ruiraptor, what software did you use for the image editor please?
Hi Rui, Do you know if it's possible for smaller screens too? I'll probably test it anyway on my stock Tarantula display but wanted to see if you tried it before attempting to do so...
Hi Nicolas, Although i did not tested that, i believe it cannot. The graphic displays use a specific library that can handle graphics while for the stock display it uses just character output.
hay ruiraptor thanks.. but can you make a video slowing down you using the paint program.. its just to fast for my old eyes.. i mean felt like it just wizzed by lol im old one step at a time :-) thanks..
I am using a RUMBA board, and my startup screen is in DOGMbitmaps.h and it lists a few. If I put the bootscreen.h in there will that override the bootscreens the other file is using?
Hi Rob, Adding the bootscreen.h will not be enough. You need to search for the command that orders the firmware to load the picture in the bootscreen.h instead of the DOGMBitmaps.h. I don't know how that version is constructed but i suspect that you can copy/paste the image code from the bootscreen.h to the DOGMbitmaps.h....but as i said...i can only suspect as i don't know how that firmware is coded.
Would you help me? please. I tried to connect my PC to the printer and it always gave an error. My PC did not recognize the printer, even changing multiple drivers. I needed to adjust the X, Y and Z axes and extruder because I had to wait for the measurements, ie I asked the extruder to walk on the X axis 100 mm and it walked only 96.4 mm. So in the other axes. Interesting thing is that by repeating, I could connect and direct the printer through the PC. But when trying again, to load the program to the printer, I could no longer connect nor by repeater and when trying to command the printer from the box, I noticed that the display was accessible, but without any characters. All information on the display that continues access has disappeared. What happened ? I deleted the Motherboard program? Is it possible to reprogram it?
Hi Ivan, Surely something happened. If you dont see any characters and it's not a contrast problem, you can try to flash the firmware again. Many users have reported connection problems when using windows 10. Normally, windows 10 is a bit harder to maintain comunication. In you case i dont know if it was a PC problem or your board was already with some issue. If you cannot comunicate with the board to flash the firmware, there is a technique to restore the bootloader back to the board. For that you need to connect an arduino to the board and flash it. There are a few tutorials on line on how to restore the bootloader.
ruiraptor My PC is Windows 7 and I have not achieved in any way, communication between the card of my own, which is the MKS base 1.4. I tried the LTDI drive, the 232 but nothing to connect. "Windows can not install unknown device" "Windows can not find software from drive to device" I believe the MKS base board input is not working. Without communication ebtre the pc and the plate nothing I can do. Thank you very much for your attention.
@@ruiraptor Thanks for the reply :) Well, I first used paint.net which didn't work. When I then tried paint, it worked perfectly. Thanks for a great video
Hello ruiraptor, I have some Problems with my hotend. I made a Firmware update on my Tarantula and since then my hotend keeps heating up when i start the printer. It goes up to temperatures of 290 C. I have to turn off my printer to stop it. i checked the Firmware and even reflashed it to be sure. I have absolutly no clue and asking for help!
If the problem didn't appear when you flashed the firmware i would say you have a faulty internal mosfet. Since it happened when you flashed a new firmware, i would recommend you to flash a different firmware and check. You can try this old version to troubleshoot: ua-cam.com/video/P4W0UI9r6pI/v-deo.html
ruiraptor thank you for the content :) I have stumped this morning as have recently built 2 printers, a delta (my first) and a clone of the Tevo (my 3rd Cartesian). I have put them both through their paces and am now doing all the tidying up (cable management etc). This morning, I wanted to lock in the stepper drivers to 80% of max output for long term reliability but having a devil of a time working out what sense resistors are used on he a4988 stepper drivers - there appears to be no markings on the r1 resistor to let me know if it is .05, 0.1 or 0.2ohms! I know most clone drivers tend to be 0.1ohm, so will be using this for calcs, (0.75mv for 1.7a nema steppers) - this doesn't give me the 80% margin but drives the steppers just below the 1a rating of the driver (assuming it's got a 0.1ohm resistor) Ah well! If any one has a tip for using a multimeter to work out the resistor value in circuit, I'd really appreciate it! Once the machines are buttoned up, I don't really want to have to pull them apart again as the cable management is the least favourite part of a build for me! :)
Great video Rui. Certainly something to take into account for any printer.
Thumbs up amigo!
Thanks my friend ;)

Hi,
thanks for the tip.
I use a very old version of paint shop.
nice! is it possible to do this without the marlin logo?
Great vid man!
Awesome tutorial
Thanks Simon :)

Figured it out, was able to go into SKETCH and clicked add file from there, it loaded the bootscreen.h file.
Wow this is awesome man.Thank you a lot.
Hi Nobel0,
I'm glad you like the video :) Thanks for the feedback

Hi Justin, We used a very old paint software. You have many and more updated softwares to edit images.

If i just gets a lot of "off" pixels (0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00), what am i doing wrong?
You mean on the screen? Maybe the formating is wrong or missing a character somewere

I "updated" my firmware and the same problem is still there.... I'm sure the mosfet has some malfunction.
Then you probably do have a bad internal mosfet.
Wonderfull.
Thanks
Interesting :)
Thanks

Download paint .net at getpaint.net - it's free and very good! Perfect for this sort of editing! :)

Hi Chris,
What board do you have?
With the MKS base, the resistor is 0.1ohms (that information can be found in the manufacturer website).
ruiraptor hi, thanks for the reply. It is a 3dymy board labelled "ramps 2 Plus". The stepper drivers aren't surface mounted which is nice!
your links take us to some home painting site.. aka real paint lol fix the links please....
