The wing wipers who want to ditch the A-10 for their sleek and shiny fast movers ie; The Fighter Mafia made a deal way back in the late 40's that they would have everything that flies and the Army would not develop close air support air-frames. when they were forced to admit that they didn't have a plane up to the task they were essentially forced to come up with the A-10. and they have been trying to retire it since the first plane was delivered
Military videos… On Simple Flying?! Reckon the popstar popularity is also down to the right timing with Movie appearances. And because some Yanks have love for it due to Friendly Fire incidents involving British Troops.
If the A-10 goes somewhere, it would probably be in South America. As sexy as a 4th generation fighter/attack jets are, they need clean airfields. Chile and Argentina have always needed combat aircraft that can operate at those high altitude, windy, FOD sprinkled bases. Other countries need something like an A-10 for smugglers and drug enforcement. (Some of these countries still use A-37 Dragonflies.)
It has targeting pods, missile warning system, JHMCS, Link 16 and can launch any CAS ordnance the US has. What else could a cold war relic expect to receive without turning into an F-35 built around a GAU-8?
@@bl8danjil…So, exactly what it received, then. The A-10 fleet has all been upgraded to A-10C spec since the mid-2010s, and some of its systems aren’t even found on far younger fighters. The Super Hornet, for instance, didn’t get JHMCS until after the A-10, and the F-22 doesn’t have it at all. Block numbers are nothing more than another way to signify upgrades too minor to be worth a new designation.
@@GintaPPE1000 Nope. I clarified my other comment though. Basically, if those 3 are still relevant today, then so should the A-10 being the only fixed wing attack aircraft the Air Force has. Also the F/A-18 is Navy, I am just talking about the Air Force. And just an FYI the first Super Hornet got JHMCS in 2007, so before the A-10 which got HMIT.
While I’ve never heard the *BRRRRR* in person (probably a good thing), I see them training at the airport I work at almost daily. Sadly, they’re taking them away from the ANG base here and replacing them with F16s. Which makes no sense. This is a top 5 favorite military aircraft for me
Ukraine has the Su-25 Frogfoot which has the same role as the A-10. Also, considering "Sensor Fusion" technology, the A-10 airframe can remain in service longer if the avionics systems are upgraded. New joint information sharing systems where a radar is not needed onboard as they can use sensor information from other military assets to locate targets, and reduce "Friendly Fire" incidents. In CAS, speed is sometimes not an asset, as an aircraft might fly by a target too fast to visually confirm a target. As the video itself said, while other aircraft can do parts of the A-10 role, there isn't one that can do all of it. Yes, it can only operate in an environment where the Airspace is not contested, but in peace time, there are many roles that the A-10 can still fulfill, like drug boat interdiction. Just saying.
@@PasleyAviationPhotographyI saw your other comment, could you find another channel to pester? Thanks, guy. I don't no who would ever use your photo services.
I'm happy to see this channel cover the A-10, but it's also very easy to see that they're a bit out of their league. Turning radius is not something you want, for example. However, I'm glad to see this channel venture out, and i hope to see more of this channel, albeit better checked.
I say give Simple Flying some credit. They went into a topic out of their usual expertise, and still came up with a more accurate and unbiased take than most defense UA-camrs.
cool , and when can we expect Airlines to take delivery of the A-10 ? . also will it serve KFAT ? seeing as the efficiency increases of the A-10 may make long haul KFAT-SAYB operations profitable .
How th is it gonna be absorbed by the F35? it doesn't even have a gun on the B and C variants and when it does on the A it only has enough ammo to shoot for 8 god forsaken seconds. Even if they do have external gun pods whats the point of the stealth? it will never live up to the power and payload and survivability and all weather capabilities of the A10
I’m surprised by A-10 video,Maybe the first military content on Simple Flying channel.
They did a video on the Boeing P8
BABE WAKE UP, SIMPLE FLYING JUST POSTED A VIDEO ABOUT THE A-10 WARTHOG

This channel title is exemplified by the A-10 - it is simple and it's flying... and it's in for the long haul (well ToT and longevity)

The A-10's biggest weakness is the Air Force not keeping it up to date like the other aircraft.

@@veeaa The same consistent block upgrade cycle the F-15 and F-16 got to keep them relevant in *contested* environments.

Ukraine also says the A-10 is pretty much useless for their needs. That should tell you enough about the future viability of the Warthog.
Did bro got hacked or something 💀 why bro suddenly make a video about the A10

Make a video on Indian airforce Boeing 707 vvip transport
