- Okay, not gonna lie, when I heard the snippet they gave us in the album medley, I was kinda feeling underwhelmed by 'Galileo' and I found the b-tracks to be a lot more appealing on first impression. BUT I have to admit that 'galileo' gets a lot more addictive as time goes, even within the span of a first listen like this, I found the chorus to get more and more catchy, so much so that I finally got the appeal of it by the end of the song. It's definitely sweet and cute and they do that really well but I still do think that this song lacks a but of their earlier quirkiness which I thought was kind of their trademark. When I hear this song, I don't think of Kep1er if that makes sense. I got a tinge of TWICE X SNSD in here in terms of the melody and the aesthetic. I think the dance break might be the most Kep1er like part of the song actually. Other than that, I really enjoyed the aesthetic of the MV, the girls look absolutely gorgeous and the interactive artwork were super cool too and it's definitely one of their best MV to date with 'Giddy' for sure! Overall, good comeback but not groundbreaking either.

I've seen Xiaoting in person multiple times from like 15 feet away when I was living in South Korea and she truly is one of the most gorgeous people I've ever seen. In person, Nana, Xiaoting, and Karina's beauty is truly jaw dropping. They look unreal even when you're looking at them with your own eyes 😂

Something felt familiar about this and you're absoluty right. It giving twice vibes without loosing their DNA. It's a solid comeback and really sets them in their lane.

ever since giddy I knew they found their stride in this specific genre of cutsey romance music. Giddy and I do, do you? were like the stepping stones of Galileo, and Kep1er solidified their concept with the sort of quirky cutsey music that you spoke off for a minute, This comeback was clean and showed off everyone pretty well, and omg CHAEHYUN IS TOO PRETTY IN THIS MV- HER HAIR AND EYES ARE SO RIGHT. I hope this album excels :))
totally agree, i really think they found their concept solidified with giddy and the recent japanese releases, we can see how they kinda incorporated those more cutesy aspects seen in the japanese titles in Galileo
But cool, sexy concepts suit them too

It seems like KPop is forking into two main methodologies. There is a very American hiphop/R&B direction, and then there is the further refinement of the “pure” KPop form. This is definitely in the latter. A solid comeback.

I agree with it lacking quirkiness part. If you look at the scheme of kep1er's title tracks, you'll notice thar most of them have a querky/fun/ energetic vibe to them.
Wa da da, Up! , I Do Do you, and wing wing are good examples of good quirky kep1er-ness. I'd even add we fresh here since the overall concept was really fun & Enegetic.
Then you have the 2 recent outliers: Giddy & Galileo. Both share a more stubble/ almost subdued/ slightly more marure & calm tone ( in comparison to 2022 kep1er songs at least )?
They are definitely evolving with these eras. I think maybe the girls are gradually going to more mature concepts with time. Also I agree that it's missing a tiny detail in either a stronger/ tight song message & MV or more quirkiness like I do do you.

Kep1er's Galileo was released on the 20th anniversary of the collision of the Jupiter probe, Galileo, which NASA launched in 1989, with Jupiter on September 21, 2003.
Galileo failed to repair the main antenna in 1991, so it had a weak output
Observed data and photographic files were sent back to Earth using auxiliary antennas.
Galileo discovered that there is a high possibility that there is a sea of salt under the ice on Europa, one of Jupiter's satellites.
It was supposed to observe Jupiter and Galileo from 1995 to 1997, but NASA extended its mission to 2003.
One of the intentions of the release of Kep1er's music video on the 20th anniversary of the collision of the Galileo with Jupiter may have been to extend Kep1er's activities like the Galileo.

I had the same thought about twice! It reminded me of scientist. I do think Kep1er found their sound though. It’s very energetic and youthful and that’s always been Kep1er. It solidified it with this after giddy
everybody prefers kepler b-sides over the title track, and this is a signal of wake one's incompetence. the title track should always be the strongest and the best song on an album, because this is the song they will perform 10 times on music shows, on radios, on it's live, on every-place-possible, not the b-sides. what makes an era appealing at least for me, is the fact that week by week i can watch the promotions, and never in a million years i would watch ten performances of wa da da or we fresh, like... be serious, i love my ears too much for that. either way, i think galileo is their best title track so far, and mvsk is their best song overall
I disagree to an extent. The title track has to be either the catchiest song or the most explosive song on the album depending on the concept of the group. The most pleasing to listen to or the song that represents the group and comeback the best. It doesn't always have to be the best song on the album because sometimes the best song is not the best representation of the group's sound or concept. And sometimes it's not catchy enough or doesn't stand out enough to be a title track
a bside is the best song in an album atleast 95% of the time, title tracks most of the time are intentionally downgraded in quality to be the most catchy track, stage worthy track in it. Every group bsides is technically better than their tts, or atleast it should be always like that
the song is very kep1er coded too the beat giving the fun pop vibe

Yes it really felt like a twice songs and I agree that they don’t really have the quirky part they had before but I feel like it’s what mostly everyone wanted (having weird part is a little démodé now) so I feel it’s still better than what they had before. For the b side sadly none have really stick to me while this song is already staying in my head after 2 listen.
Also as a Xiaoting bias I’m sooooo happy to see her more when we know how love, talented, gorgeous she is (still bitter about her final ranking that was heavily influenced by the percentage Korean/global votes) but at the same time I do feel a little sad for Chaehyeon fans who’ve worked really hard to get her center position and that she’s a little erased in this comeback. Just wished they could let all the girls shine with even better music (aka back to the city, le voya9e…)

personally i consider some b-sides from kpop girl groups to be way better than the title tracks from the same groups. and mostly i consider b-sides from not so successful groups to be much much better than the title tracks (or even complete albums) from overly hyped (and, sorry for the choice of words, americanized) groups.
example:
lovelyz8. great album. great title track (ah-choo). but "shining star" is beyond phenomenal.
example:
album "time for us" by gfriend. awesome title track (sunrise). phenomenal b-side (show up). i consider both to be way better than for example twice's "fake & true".
example:
billlie's "eunoia" is fantastic, but if i had to choose, i would always prefer "enchanted night".
example:
i like, among other things, peculiar songs. loona has a flawless discography; no question. but somehow i especially fell in love with "oops" or "rosy". the same applies to b-sides from wjsn (pantomime, done), dreamcatcher (can't get you out of my mind, wind blows, sleep-walking) or weki meki (who am i) for example.
back to your question:
most kpop title tracks are good to phenomenal, even though they are totally mainstream. but some are also below (or way below) average, precisely because they are mainstream. well, it's a fact that you can make the most money with mainstream. b-sides hardly bring any money (or success), but they bring a lot of joy to the discerning listener, as idols (and also producers) can show their true potential here. but not everyone can see that. and not everyone likes this kind of potential.
this time i prefer the title track (galileo) over the b-side (the door) 🤟
