- Ridley Scott brought 5 minutes of his upcoming "Gladiator" sequel to CinemaCon 2024, and oh boy, the action is even more epic than we could have imagined. Watch CinemaBlend’s Managing Editor Sean O’Connell break down exactly what we saw.

Siiiiick! Fun fact about that iconic "hand in the wheat" shot you mentioned. The hand in frame is actually Russell Crowes stunt double Stuart Clarke, Russell never did that shot.
Also the moment they did that shot, Scott was telling off the stunt double as he was smoking in that field and was risking a fire. Then also realised when he was doing that with his hand it made a great shot so recorded it ha
If you get a chance to interview Ridley Scott again please ask him about the extended cuts of Last Duel, Gucci and subsequently Napoleon
Wow, it's gonna be released around my birthday.
Gladiator was all about the good epic story.
A stoic character, love for family, betrayal, honour, courage, and revenge.
Now we have armored rhino, naval battles, war monkeys... really?
They think that battles made the first Gladiator one of the best films ever?
Really?
Exactly. That's what made the original timeless. Movies today don't address morals, values, virtues, principles, and Character any more. It is those things that stir your Soul. Flashy battle scenes are a cheap thrill. We want something that makes you evaluate your life. Struggles you can identify with. Things that inspire your potential. The love of Family. A sense of Duty, Sacrifice, Loyalty, Honor, Courage, etc..
You do know the colosseum flooding itself for naval battles actually happened right
The naval battles within colosseums did occur, so I have no issue with that. Now gladiator upon rhinos seems a little far-fetched though, don't like the sound of that myself though maybe it occurred also
So it's like Zack Snyder 300!!
