    When lacing my Common Projects, I achieve fairly equal lace lengths by threading the lace through the bottom two holes, and then folding the longer side back down to the shorter side to create a tall triangle. After starting with a length ratio of 1:2, I typically only need to make minor adjustments to the length of the laces.

I just got a pair of Oliver Cabell Low 1s that I absolutely love but they are really not that comfortable. I’ve read break-in takes time so I’m not concerned just looking to speed it up/minimize pain where possible.

    Generally you want to clean the upper before the outsole unless you are washing the brush or exchanging the water. . It is much dirtier than the upper

    • @Hueguh
      @Hueguh  6 років тому +1

      I rinse the brush after cleaning the outsole. I found that when I clean the upper first, the upper gets dirty again as the brush tends to flick dirt back on to the upper.

    At $300+ isn't it difficult to justify buying these sneakers? Clearly they must be all genuine leather, etc. But do they come with some kind of lifetime warranty? Why not shell out $100 every other year on some faux leather look alikes and clean them the same way? Genuinely asking, I'm not a troll.

    • @Hueguh
      @Hueguh  6 років тому +16

      You definitely pay a premium. They do not last forever but do last longer than cheaper shoes like stan smith. I wear mine hard 5 days a week for 2+ years and they still have a lot of life left.
      If you break it down in cost per a wear It isn't as steep. There are definitely some brands that have the same quality and come at a cheaper price point. I am currently testing a couple of pairs to find a common project alternative.

      Why buy a BMW when you can drive a Toyota? Or why wear a gold chain when you can wear a plated one? Some people prefer nicer quality items, are in this case are willing to pay more for a nicer hand made in italy shoe. They are the best looking low top by far, others don't have the same silhouette. Ive had cheap things and nicer things (which cost more). The cheap stuff always falls apart or doesnt last, whereas nicer stuff lasts forever if taken care of. All those vintage clothes people love to buy in thrift stores, usually were high end fashion back in the day, and thus have lasted all this time since they were made of quality materials
