Brain Pikmin should also have better AI. When they go idle and don’t have any immediate tasks, they can follow the sounds of the leader’s footsteps and go back to the squad, similar to how glow Pikmin work
Maybe even have Brain Pikmin be able to actual command other pikmin to do any puzzles that you throw them to, along with any pikmin with the brain pikmin being counted as safe from sundown, downside is that, you always have to make sure the possible paths to these puzzles aren't crawling with enemies, and as a bonus cant be controlled via stuff like Moss's whistle, or certain pores expelled by certain bosses
I actually once had an idea similar to your Brain Pikmin, but I called them Bighead Pikmin, their gimmick was that they were immune to mind control/hypnosis, a hazard some enemies would have that would compel other pikmim to harm themselves. They were also able to see through "illusions" or any kind of enemy camoflauge/deception
Dream idea (very unlikely and too difficult to manage): send all your brain pikmin into one group and be able to switch to them like captains. your camera would zoom out and you would be able to run around in sync and charge, but not throw. you can also do puzzles. you'd need at least 5 to do this.
That's a pretty good idea. I also thought that could be the case if they are exposed to light, they wouldn't "die" and the player coan pick them back up when night time comes.
Here is a new pikmin type brown pikmin, they would be immune to poison, kill enemies when they are eaten, they would also have ten times strength of a regular pikmin, fly and have a slam attack. Their weakness being they need the bathroom every five minutes so you need to rush them to the closest bog before they unload a spicy spray that kills you entire party.
these are really neat! I can definitely imagine these fellows in a sort of desert-themed DLC about rediscovering and utilizing human technologies to solve puzzles or navigate the environment
Yes. The Fossil Pikmin also draws inspiration from Fossil Pokémon which is its own thing since I kind of associate Glow Pikmin with the ghost type. But, if there was light type I'd probably give it that and give the ghost typing to the Fossil Pikmin.
I feel some sort of "captmin" could be fun maybe they can fetch pikmin from onions, and lead other pikmin carrying stuff around enemies (eg, such as sleeping bulborbs)
pretty interesting concepts; if you're interested, I have my own idea for a new pikmin type that I've been thinking up since playing through the fourth game: - Ink Pikmin appear slender, ink-black (obviously) with amber-colored eyes, and noticeably a lot more... liquidy than other Pikmin types, not even having legs - this allows them to pass through grates, pipes, and other tight spaces that captains and other Pikmin can't. - when charging, they'll combine into a wave that can turn water wheels to solve puzzles, crash onto enemies for big damage, or carry items extra fast (only in a straight line, though, and hitting a wall returns them to normal carrying); they're additionally capable of blinding enemies when attacking the eyes, provided the enemy uses their eyes of course. - regarding hazards, Ink Pikmin are too fluid to be stabbed (but unlike Rock Pikmin, they can still be crushed), and they're generally pretty oblivious, which renders them immune to panic and confusion - to balance this all out, however, their hands are too slippery to climb poles, ropes, or climbing walls, they can die if frozen solid or exposed to freezing air for too long, and they treat water hazards like Pikmin 2 electricity, dissolving near-instantly like the Sand Pikmin from this video
"I love your work very much; I'm your admirer. I ask you to please continue delighting us with your videos and not pay attention to toxic people who, out of frustration or selfishness, leave negative comments. Don't let them ruin your talent. Always send us your videos."
uhhh i have ideas so ill just dump here uhhh: burrow pikmin: brown color. small pikmin that look and move like bulborb larva, except they stay completely underground while moving around, burrowing after you. They can be thrown, but you have to hold A to pull em out, and they just bounce off enemies like rock pikmin. Charging at enemies would make them jump out of the ground when they get under the enemy and stun/flip over the enemy, allowing the burrow pikmin to do *some* damage (best paired with other pikmin) weakness? any enemy that comes from the ground would stay underground if you walk by, and easily eat them one by one underground and you cant do anything but run away . Plasmin: translucent. Water wraith or plasm wraith looking pikmin that come from candypops or come from defeating plasms (new smaller enemies taking the form of water/plasm wraiths that just run around and act like the boss counterparts just with no phases and small health, plasms specifically being immune until fed a pikmin, water being vulnerable to purple) they'd take the look of wherever they came from, gold or blue. they are both invulnerable and invincible, but cannot deal damage. No onion. When you get multiple of them, they group together and form a larger pikmin, that can become as tall as an emperor bulblax (100) They can't do anything except carry objects and complete tasks. Balancing weakness? they disappear after 1-2 days... . Recovered Mushroom pikmin: using a special item thrown on mushroom pikmin from groovy long legs or the puffstool would bring them to your side. They're just like bulbmin, and they return to whatever they were before the fight when puffstool dies. . long legmin: ball body with 4 legs like a daddy long legs. 5 pop out of daddy long legs (ones that specifically have leaves over their head) and they crawl very fast by default. resistant to all elements like bulbmin. Upon charging they can't do anything, So what are they useful for? They have a carrying power of 3 first of all, and they can CLIMB WALLS and other ledges and surfaces when thrown (they don't go in the air) to reach objects. No onion
Stickmin that can join together to mimic other creatures. The main use for them is to intimidate enemies but if you fail to do so the enemy may attack. This would result in the formation falling apart and the pikmin running in circles until called upon.
Such a Great video!!! I can’t wait for a third part!!! This is already hyping me up for Pikmin 5 now that I’ve 100% Pikmin 4!!! I’m a big fan of the sand Pikmin in particular. I think with a few tweaks and adjustments to balance them out, they’d fit in perfectly!!! :)
Welcome aboard! Thank you so much for your generous comment, people like you are the reason why I want to keep delivering more good quality content in the future.
I’ve got an idea of my own: gas pikmin. They’re resistant to being eaten by enemies (because) and they can interact with certain things. They can’t weigh things down and they’re weak though.
I feel like sand pikmin should die to the sand immediately cause they are made of sand and basically become part of the sand so enemies that use sand which only sand pikmin are immune to would be more dangerous as they would probably be in the sand areas so oatchi would have to carry sand pikmin over sand and they could be used to some puzzles so when travelling on sand with sand pikmin on oatchi makes using oatchis charge a worse idea but sand could be drained like water in pikmin 2 but sand pikmin have to do that
Ive had an idea for a Bigmin which is the next evolution of pikmin. They help with night missions and to push enemies back like the water wraiths and can carry or move really large objects like bricks and entire bridges. They attack by jumping onto an enemy and punching it. It only attacks large enemies like bulborbs and such.
I have some : Orange pikmin : pun intended for body, finds fruit Basic pikmin : rainbow colour, may become any other pikmin, is Basic ( if it didn't have any quirks and had 1x attack, 1x speed, no elemental defense )
Although nice ideas I stand by the opinion that there is zero chance of being actually really because it’s to “gorey” one having an open organ (the brain) and the other being a skeleton, and Sand pikmin is just a wacky idea.Change MY MIND
I feel like the brain Pikmin biggest issue is that it overlaps with the electricity mechanic with yellows. I feel like the yellow electricity idea should be expanded, not replaced. Yellows already feel like the kind of “ civilized Pikmin” with them being the only one use bomb rocks and use electricity to solve problems. Imagine gigantic puzzles with you having one of your captains command, yellows, turning off and on a construction vehicle, or other contraptions? (Just going to add the idea of them being super effective during nighttime mode due to them turning on lights affecting nocturnal predators) I like the video, I just wanted to state what I felt about the brain min.
Thank you for your input. The yellow pikmin do indeed already feel like the civilized Pikmin. Though, I think you could consider brain pikmin as the sort of "Einsteins" in our modern society. This was one of my earlier videos before I decided to get back in the game, but if I could make the Brain Pikmin more distinct from the yellow, I think I'd opt to make them more practical rather than technical. Or maybe something like, operating computers or certain devices, something more with numbers and binary language. Also, I'm defintely comtemplating on making another Pikmin video eventually.
@@retromesh epikmin, glad you took in my input as I just want to express my issue with the brain min. looking forward to your next pikmin video. Suggestion if you make a new pikmin video on types. I think a general rule of thumb for me is that when designing a Pokémon you should try to put them next to other pikmin when picking the color for them
Orange pikmin. Parkour masters who are by far THE fastest pikmin, being faster than olimar too. Orange pikmin look like the average pikmin, and have the same physical attributes. However they can be thrown just as far as yellow pikmin and can swim in water too, however attacking in water will be hard for it since its not really use to being in such dense places. I am here so let's get started: Light Pink/Brain: Psychic Sand/Brown-ish: Ground. (Also it should be 1. They are made out of SAND) Fossil/Dead White: Ghost. (Again) And Extra: Bulbmin: Bug/Normal
Man I love Pokemon associations. For the Fossil Pikmin, the original color for them is supposed to be beige but I think that the filt is distorting it. Nevertheless, if one were to compare it to the white PIkmin, they would see that it is a slightly dark shade. And yeah, I made Brain Pikmin light pink because psychic is often portrayed as pink in the games.
Hey just a suggestion for pikmin ideas, try to make the pikmin less restricted and make the player WANT to use them we don’t want another case like blue pikmin where you don’t WANT to use them but you have to, so try making something like red pikmin where they have a strength multiplier of 1.5x so you might want to try incorporating this into the ideas of pikmin
Skeleton min is not considered as pikmin since theres already a white type they are dead pikmin with spuls trapped when a pikmin dies its body will remain not despawned theres a 50 chance it will spawn like azombie when a pikmin stayed on the ground in 1 day without enemies eating it
Actually that was the original idea but then I recalled that when Pikmin die they usually just turn into ghosts. Still, you could say that just happens when Pikmin are "killed", so Fossil Pikmin could also be the remains of Pikmin that just died of natural causes. I like both ideas.
i feel like rock pikmin, being very similar to sand pikmin as they're both a type of mineral (i think), should be able to not die to sand, but can't move in it. nobody ever thinks of hazards having some pikmin types not dying to them, but can't remove them/be immune.
I think these are all great concepts but they should be less of a "key and lock" mechanic and have more stuff that makes them useful outside their gimmick
I know that the other pikmin have hands albeit a lot smaller, but I tend to exagerate hand size in my designs because I find it more appealing. Sorry if it seems unfitting.
Hey guys, I made another video recently about a hypothetical scenario for the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. If you are interested here is the link (no pun intended): ua-cam.com/video/RDqMMLJv6IE/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Retroplay
Yeah, I liked the Brain idea because I wanted the Pikmin to have a lighter shade of Pink which would play off of it; but I think that you suggestion makes sense.
Thanks! I wish that UA-cam did it automatically, closest if you wanna get for vintage would be 360p. Not really willing to re-upload the same video, but if there's a way to apply it to this current upload feel free to let me know!
They wouldn't be immune to most hazzards, as bones are still vulnerable to things like cold, electricity, etc. Even they're already "dead" they can still become immobilized and like you put it "fall apart". They would however be uninteresting to every monster and creature unless provoked because of their lack of flesh.
The brain pikmin have the same problem as a blue pikmin, you must have thw brain pikmin or yoy cant progres and except this robotic bulborb you dont have to take them which you
Make a spring pikmin a orange pikmin with the bottom half of its body being a spring. When thrown on an enemy it will repeatedly bounce on it they will also be thrown higher then yellow pikmin and can bounce to higher areas

Sonic Adventure 1? Sorry if I'm off lol
@@retromesh yeah
Love the atmosphere and style. Can you upload at 480p?
Thanks! I wish that UA-cam did it automatically, closest if you wanna get for vintage would be 360p. Not really willing to re-upload the same video, but if there's a way to apply it to this current upload feel free to let me know!
@@retromesh oh I have no clue. Now that I've watched the full video, I don't think 480 is necessary at all

What if there were a orange pikmin we're its 2 pikmin but we're the bud is it's combined
red + yellow?
Does that mean the fossil pikmin is immune to everything because their bones if they get attacked by a creature they will fall apart
They wouldn't be immune to most hazzards, as bones are still vulnerable to things like cold, electricity, etc. Even they're already "dead" they can still become immobilized and like you put it "fall apart".
They would however be uninteresting to every monster and creature unless provoked because of their lack of flesh.
what if brain Pikmin were a more involved p2
It's a goo idea, but having recently gone through Pikmin 4, I feel like Oatchi already sort of does that :(
