Speaking as another Muslim, idk who has 250K lying around :/ and it’s not like a regular person can save up that much 😅 that rhetoric always bothered me bc it infers only children of rich people should go to med school. Congrats on graduating 💕
Estaghfirlah!!😒😲😠 I would hear this UA-cam sheiks and think, "How the JAHENNAH are we supposed to pay for college!?😕 None of these sheiks have the answer. We HAVE to have Muslim clinicians. I moved back with my parents in my 20s and switched school, worked full time whilst working through my B.S. in Biology. I chose not to go med school but went to PA school AND STILL worked full time!😰I "ONLY" owed $60,000 after my Doctorate. I'm in my 50s now. My kids got scholarships, AlhamduliLah! But it's just different times now. Don't even get me started on "halal mortgages" vs rent, and "convential mortgages!😡 We have to live SOMEWHERE!We're doing the BEST we can! That's ALL one can do! Allah is the MOST Merciful! 😊❤☝🏾️
There is a specific supplication (dua) that our prophet peace be upon him told us to say when facing hardship including debt. Given you are a Muslim I thought to mention it as we all need reminders every now and then. Have a blessed Ramadan 💜☮️
Hi Maha. Thank you so much for making these videos all these years. I remember when you posted your "first week of medical school" video. At that time I had just decided to pursue medicine. Now I am preparing to submit my application for this upcoming med school cycle. You are such an inspiration to me!
Genuine question, why is it that dental students all have more debt than med students? Another way to phrase it, why is dental school more expensive than med school?
It' sad that it costs a lot of money to go to medical school, many students give up their dreams because they can not afford the cost. I hope things will change in the future. By the way, congratulations on graduating!
Make sure you know how much compound interest will accrue on your loans if you make the minimum payments per month. If you are able to, try to make the max you can afford to per month because it’ll decrease the amount of interest over the life of your loan dramatically. Very proud of how far you have come and good luck in the future Maha 😁❤️❤️
I don't understand how else people pay for medical programs. Unless you born into money, which many are not You have to take out loans, and its just understood that you do this for the passion and the field and to serve your community!
My family isn't supporting me as well; that's why I'm trying to work as a sonographer to save money for med school first. I know you will pay those loans off soon because you are a hard worker.
don't forget to look at scholarships too! many people don't realize that scholarships are available for graduate and professional school that can help ease at least some of the burden.
@@what_do_you_want898 Thank you! I'm terrified of the compound interest. I read an article that stated waiting until you're financially ready is the best way to make the most out of your salary as a doc. It's like getting financially ready to have a medical baby 👣
MashaAllah, congratulations on completing med school! Thank you for speaking so openly and honestly about how you financed your education. May Allah make it easy for you 🖤
Hey Maha! I haven’t watched one of your videos in a really really long time but I’m so glad I clicked on this video today. You probably don’t remember me but I actually won a giveaway you sponsored on your channel a couple of years ago where I won a leather bag. Haven’t pursued my dreams of becoming a doctor due to fear and my age (I’m old! Like grandma old! 😂). But I am so grateful for you and the inspiration your channel provides. Congratulations on all your success and matching at Penn. Praying for all the best for you 💖🙏🏽💖
Lol wtf....in Germany you only pay about 200-400€ every semester for every subject you want to study. So for Medical school you need to go 12 semesters (6 years) at university and only pay 4000-6000€ FOR THE ENTIRE 6 YEARS! I should be thankful lol hahahha
Salaam Maha, I hope you're doing well :) I've been advised that by reciting Surah al-Waqia before you go to sleep, Allah SWT guarantees that you will face no economic hardship inshaAllah

Congratulations on graduating. There is nothing wrong with paying for school. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad about it. You go girl.
Lets switch, you can have my 460K Dental School debt. lol
My God 😭now I’m glad to be doing nursing

@@asmashah981 I think it’s because of all the instruments they have to use and get to keep. They’re super expensive and they receive some every year!
@@asmashah981 really depends on the school you go to
@@asmashah981 i believe dentists make more money
