Switch your youdoit's items to be the ski masks which allows them to be nigh untargetable. I have had this help me win against the black oni in the first game with the only exception being his soultimates. This can allow shogunyan to be the only one taking the hits while he has that healing item to help tank the damage.

Both souls are very easy to get. Simply buy 99 mackeral at the fish maarket and trade them all in at Jungle Hunter. INSTANT PROFIT/FUSION ITEMS
