Radical Face - Small Hands (Acoustic/Live)

- So we're all stuck at home and need things to do. I have a few new projects in mind. For this first one here, I am filming acoustic versions of songs and building a little set somewhere in my house for each one. If there is a song in my catalog (Electric President included!) that you'd like me to make a small acoustic version of, feel free to comment down below, or send me a note through my website.
And I started with this song, Small Hands, because it's one people often ask me to play on tour, but I never have. There are some songs I've written during really bad times, or about very personal subjects, and I don't include those on set lists. Because you don't play the song just once, or even a couple times. Between teaching songs to the live band and the amount of shows that follow, I might play the song 50 to 60 times. And there are things I've written that I simply don't want to think about that much. This song is one of them. So to make up for that, I decided to just record it here.
I will also be doing more tutorials on how to play things, as well as updating the "How to record at home" series. So if any of this sounds interesting or helpful in all of the strangeness we are currently experiencing, just let me know what you'd like to see/hear next. Otherwise, I hope everyone is healthy and well, physically and mentally.

There's something about Ben's music that makes me feel as though we had similar childhoods. Those lyrics comfort and haunt me (haunt in a good way lol).
My favorite song is The Mute. I always get lost in that one.
I feel the same way about his music. It seems like we had similar upbringings and can't shake that feeling. I always get lost in his music and want to cry at the same time.

predictably, this version made me cry. hate to be a sappy youtube commenter but here goes. this song was my mantra during the hardest time of my life. it was how I felt, every moment, every day, exhausted, because my hands were too small, and if she needed to take this out on me, she knew I wouldn’t complain. I listened to it on repeat, always belting the lyrics in my car. it’s hard for me to listen to now. I can’t imagine how hard it is for you to play over and over, and I don’t blame you for never playing it in concert. thank you for sharing this song with the world, as personal and heartfelt as it is. this song will always stick in my soul.

I don’t know if you’re going to see this, but I still have to try. Your music has helped me through so, so, so much. For 3 years, you’ve been with me and guided me on my journey and lended such gentle hands when all I needed was one to hold. I’ve listened to you for three long years, and each time I listen to songs I used to repeat until my ears bled, I find new things to keep me alive. I was nervous to listen to this because I knew it would make me feel a way I wasn’t ready for. This song is so sweet and soft, and exactly what I thought it would be. It’s absolutely perfect, and I absolutely adore you. For some reason, after hearing your story about your writings and how your music was an outlet for the endless truths and words you shouted into the void, only for it to come crashing down, and your lyrics were stories of someone else’s tale to tell, the music just... it just became heightened for me. The respect and love and adoration I have for you is insane, and I’ve never been able to say this to anyone because I don’t have anyone who understands the way I feel about music.
