Great set of lessons inspired by a beautiful fly. Not only do I learn best from my mistakes, they offer the most teachable moments. I think it was Patton that I am misquoting who said he judged a person not by how well they did everything, rather by how they made mistakes and then corrected them.
A second post with a question. I noted that you use an FNF vice. I, like many, missed the window to get a LAW vice. The two best options I see now are HMH and FNF, unless you know of another (excepting the ludicrous prices on EBAY for a LAW 🙄). Have you seen and/or used the HMH? Do you have an opinion regarding the differences in functionality and manufacturing quality between them, if any? I’ve only seen the two on the respective websites and on UA-cam, but the fit and finish of the HMH seem lacking. The difference in design of the ‘spinner’ is less of a concern to me. I would learn to use either. Thank you. If the question puts you on ‘the spot’ just ignore it.

Good to see you back! Thanks Ian. I’ll tie some of these this weekend at my Flygirls of Michigan meeting! Cheers!
Looks like a winning combination, Ian.
Nice looking pattern!
