Here the Smokey Joe gets its first use along with the Weber table for portables, including the Jumbo Joe, Smokey Joe, and the Go-Anywhere Gas or Propane grills. It was all a hit!
*Bought for my son. We have had one for years, works great. Can cook indirect and smoke meat. Done chicken, ribs, turkey, and the regular **MyBest.Kitchen** hot dogs and sausages. Excellent grill*
even when a weber gets really grungy it can still be cleaned to look brand new, the steel isn't painted it's porcelain coated so as long as you don't damage the porcelain it won't rust. once a year i take my smokey joe apart, spray it inside and out with oven cleaner and let it sit for an hour or so, then submerge it in hot soapy water in the laundry sink. all of the crud and gunk falls right off and both kettle halves look brand new. had mine for more than 15 years now and it still looks new. the wood handles look a little old but a coat of mineral oil keeps them from cracking.
Great video!!! And what a setup! Wow!!! Love it! And the foil at the bottom... so simple, yet ingenious. Awesome idea on upcycling that paint can. Thx!
This is the cleanest, most put together grill session I've ever seen lol my grill has grease caked on the bottom, there's smoke deposits everywhere....the outside is rusted.
But your food tastes better. Grill mats? Just cool inna nonstick frying pan on an electric stove top. Charcoal grilling is all about the grease and smoke
@@Tom-uw2ok +1 All this excessive effort to be as clean as possible seems like it is defeating thr purpose of cooking with charcoal in the first place.
Wow you're doing a great job on these reviews, I have a Weber Genesis 2 propane grill and small Weber go anywhere propane grill however I'm all about charcoal now so I just bought a Weber master touch charcoal grill and a go anywhere Weber charcoal grill. I love that little table but it's no longer available so enjoy it, you're one of the lucky few who owns one!
When I bought my Smokey joe I don’t think there was a a grill mat for it so I used it conventional style. The food tastes so much better when you let it just marinate from the past grilling.
Great video👍, I bought my Smoky Joe for the beach last year. But since the pandemic I haven't been to the beach. I never thought about the factory oils and coating smells initially caused during the first burn. I love the foil you placed under the fire greate and ash catcher that should extend the life of the grill. The paint can charcoal smother is a great idea, I usually save the larger size left over pieces; but your method would save more large pieces for smaller fires like chile dogs, sausage type meats that don't use much heat. Thanks for sharing. After seeing your video I plan to fire up the Smoky Joe just to break it in before the first cook. 👍👍
All that aluminum foil is unnecessary. It's not a new car. It can get dirty. And those brats should go straight on the wire rack. That grill mat defeats what charcoal grilling is all about - grilling over charcoal. Nice 1st go, though.
Yes it’s portable. The legs come off and store under it. I love it and wish they would make it again. I’d like a second one. Keep your eye out on your local online marketplace. I’ve seen it a few times in my own area but didn’t snap it up in time.
This is an old video, so you may be doing something very different now, but I wonder what that mat is you’re using? I am concerned you bought a silicon mat that is supposed to go under the grill to protect your ground, and you thought it was supposed to be put on the grates? I’ve never seen a silicone mat that you’d put over direct heat before, and most of the time silicone things only have a heat rating of 600° or less. Do you have a link to this mat that you used? I’ve just never seen such thing, and I’m worried you’re doing something that might taint your food. I do know of silicone mats for baking, and those go on a cookie sheet, but those mats never get direct heat.
Patty M Amazon. I did learn after using it a while that I needed to cut it a few inches from one side to let in some of the Smokey flavor from below. Especially when using wood chips on the charcoal. Love the grill mat.
Doesn't the grilling mat remove the the whole purpose of BBQ grilling? You're taking away the smoke from the briquets and burning fat. Why not just put the sausages in the oven?
Grilling is my favorite way to cook. I’d say just get out there and start doing it. The more you do it, the better you get. There is definitely a thrill in it I don’t get standing at the oven.
man i was looking for that little portable table and its hard to find now....... amazon has it new for $250 its insane .... its a $30 item...... ebay has it used for $180 nope..... your lucky to have that table although its super flimsy still a back saver
Um you putting foil jn bottom of kettle blocks the bottom bent holes.... The premium smokey joe has side vent holes. Yours needs the vent in the bottom lol

The mats are awesome! I use them on my both of my gas Weber BBQ’s. I won the Smokey Joe in a Xmas raffle at work, thanks for posting!

You don’t want to cover the bottom holes. The air needs to flow from bottom to top
Oh, I see. Gotcha! Thx n good lookin out!! 😃👍🏼
Nice video. I'm about to buy my first Smokey Joe and I'm impressed with the way you've set everything up. Thanks for the tips!
Smokey joes are great mine has lasted 3 yrs with constant use of you know what your doing it’s perfect to cook for one or multiple people
Some great tips thank you. Just got this baby for my boyfriend, so excited to use it come spring.

Try calling Weber
Never thought about putting foil in. Good idea to keep it new. Webers aren’t cheap
AJ Ilano Thanks. The foil helps and I do poke holes in the foil around the air vents so it still functions as designed.
Amazing and wonderful ideas. Thank you!

Thanks! Question? Where did u buy the 14 inch Grill Mat?
i made the best brats last week on my smokey joe. I love it! I also made a handle for it by drilling 2 holes on the side and attaching a stiff wire
All that aluminum foil is unnecessary. It's not a new car. It can get dirty. And those brats should go straight on the wire rack. That grill mat defeats what charcoal grilling is all about - grilling over charcoal. Nice 1st go, though.
I agree about the grilling mat. It would definitely impact on the flavour of the meat with the mat stuck in between the charcoal and the food.
that's how you get the coals to wiggle! Good burn & self equalizing!😀😃😄😁😝
Like the foil on the ash tray!👍🏽
I would continue to use the foil it really helps with cleaning up the ashes. Nice video. Have a wonderful day.
I need a smokey joe because most of the parks and campsites i find in my area dont have charcoal grills, if I had this I can cook anywhere
#anthonyron82 Absolutely! It’s a fun little guy.
I want that table! I just checked and it's not available anywhere near me. Are they still being made? It looks sturdy, is it portable?
Yes it’s portable. The legs come off and store under it. I love it and wish they would make it again. I’d like a second one. Keep your eye out on your local online marketplace. I’ve seen it a few times in my own area but didn’t snap it up in time.

I also love that table but can't find it anywhere! Do you happen to have the model number or UPC Code for it?
@@GetRealFeelTheHeal never found one. I bet with a little ingenuity, you could make one.

I have the same set up. What a great demonstration. I love how you keep everything so clean. Not common in the grilling world. Lol.
Hello where did you buy your weber portable charcoal grilled table?
This is an old video, so you may be doing something very different now, but I wonder what that mat is you’re using? I am concerned you bought a silicon mat that is supposed to go under the grill to protect your ground, and you thought it was supposed to be put on the grates? I do know of silicone mats for baking, and those go on a cookie sheet, but those mats never get direct heat.
Why do the coals : wiggle? & yes : if too hot & cheap foil will melt & destroy the grill? 😢😩😵💫😫 good foil but why did they wiggle?
Why did you block the air flow from the bottom with foil?
Hi! Where did you get your table? I love it!
No longer available!
Same question, where did you get the table?
Unfortunately it discontinued. They need to bring it back
Nice video. Where did you get the grill mat? Thanks!
Patty M Amazon. I did learn after using it a while that I needed to cut it a few inches from one side to let in some of the Smokey flavor from below. Especially when using wood chips on the charcoal. Love the grill mat.
Great, where did you get them?
Patty M I got them from Amazon.
@@ThirdStreetKitchen Please share the link to the grill mat. Thank you,
How did you get the fire started how did you light the coals??? It's hard to get a fire going on that small grill!!!!
I use a compact chimney starter. It’s fast and easy. 👍
That's a nice little BBQ 😋
Have worn out my first Smokey Joe. Breaking out the new one soon.
Where did you get the mat
Grilling mats where can I purchase one
Can you please share link for the table you used?
Unfortunately the table has been discontinued. Such a shame.
@@ThirdStreetKitchen 😢
Bad habit to put foil under hot coals. I’ve seen it melt the foil. Even hit enough to melt a can. So the fumes could be hazardous
🙄🙄🙄. If ur SCARED 😱😱, say ur Scared 🤣🤣🤣.
The table is a Win =)
Not a bad video. I'm trying out my new smokey joe tomorrow x
No grill mat please. Just use a cast iron pan.
Doesn't the grilling mat remove the the whole purpose of BBQ grilling? You're taking away the smoke from the briquets and burning fat. Why not just put the sausages in the oven?
Many Women I know are intimidated when it comes to grilling. What advice would you have for them?

The Smokey Joe is 14" diameter. Should be just fine.
Yes it can.

Seems a little steep for the table. Way over priced IMHO
Yeah, I'm thinking I'll just save my money and rig up my own table to hold my Smokey Joe.
Where’s you get the metal can?
Hardware store.
What is the name of this table??
Weber has discontinued it, unfortunately.
