Mix Master Mike constantly would switch up beats for live Beastie Boys performances. My understanding is that the Beastie Boys let him put together the beats pretty much as he wanted, and he would surprise them with it on stage. It kept them on their toes, and I think the Beastie Boys encouraged this.
You should check out the documentary called 'Scratch'. Mix Master Mike features heavily. He explains his history with The Invisibl Skratch Piklz and there's a whole bunch of other turntablism history.
@@PixelPro-4000 thanks for the reply. I was just being sarcastic, silly. Comments can’t convey sarcasm very well. I love Jimi. His grandmother has a street named after her in Vancouver.
Love that you're a hardcore music and Beasties fan!! I miss the record scratching DJs and sounds from the 90s. Have you ventured into any Trip Hop yet? If not, I'd highly suggest some Portishead and Massive Attack. I think you'd enjoy.
Intergalactic was from their 5th album 'Hello Nasty'. It was the first album with Mix Master Mike. This 2004 tour I imagine was to promote their next album 'To the 5 Boroughs'.

That guitar sample was from some guy from Seattle that they really likes. His name is alluding now.
That sample is Jimi Henrix. That's one of the greatest, most recognizable guitar riffs in the history of rock... Yes, he is from Seattle. :)
