    Surely, it could be possible to write a program that interprets all possible permutations of a given matrix you can enter, and evaluates the best outcomes, like how stockfish chess bot assesses all board states some 15 moves in advance and finds the most likely advantageous position.

      There is. It's called min-max algorithm. It could solve 5 man pairings without table choices. With inclusion of table choices amount of combinations goes through the roof and that one cannot be handled by simple algorithm, and requires more advanced ones.

    You guys mentioned once you have your matchups down as Green/Red etc you just have to trust them in pairings, so do you assign the colours based on the opponents lists round by round? I'm just thinking for example Dark Angels with 45 Terminators might be a red matchup for one of your lists, but all-Ravenwing might be a Green matchup for your same list

      Correct. They are adjusted every round according to the mission and opponents you're playing. Missions can impact greatly how certain matchup will go - say Dark Angels on Scouring are just a menace, but on some other missions you can try and fight them.
