Guitar Hero World Tour Drum Pad Fix Mod Sensitivity GHWT
Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 лис 2008
- This is a really simple way to mod your guitar hero world tour drum set to be more sensitive. Most GHWT drum sets are messing up with the red pad and this is step by step instructions to fix them.
Just to say I followed these steps today, using a thick bit of cardboard; and what a difference it makes.
I can FINALLY string a few combos together, so thanks a lot for this vid!
The good ol' days of youtube. This helps thanks bro
Thanks for posting. For a little while I thought my drumming skills were getting worse until I figured out that the red pad was barely working
dude ur a genius!!! ive been looking around the internet to try to find a solution, but who would f thought it was that easy. THANKS!!!
Just tried this on mine which had a sensitivity issue on the green pad and i'm pleased to say that it works perfectly now.
Thanks for the vid!
That's pretty clever. Kudos to you for finding a quicker way to get around it (rather than waiting for the official cable to arrive). People should tell you if your method worked for them, on this page.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!
Even with the tuning kit, my red pad was missing notes, so i did this and now is working perfectly fine.
And also it doesn't void your warranty because there's no sticker to remove, so you can remove the stick and the drum kit doesn't look "manipulated".
Greetings from Spain, THANKS!!!
Blue barely worked at all and red was not right. tried this trick and it worked perfect. Now my drums are working 100% again. Thx. Not sure how long it will last but the way my drum set was working I couldn't play on it at all so this is great !!
Doug Popple really for me it worked
Thank you so much for the help. It was very nice of you to submit this video. It worked for me, although I had some trouble getting the cover off. But thanks so much.
This worked brilliantly, I got a replacement pad cos my red was doing my head in and it worked for abit, then broke again, so I put my old pad back in with the stick and it worked amazingly. THANK YOU!!!! Cheap fix that works brilliant
Nice video dude. I think it's real cool you sat down and showed folks how to fix their issue with something as simple as a popsicle stick. By the way, their are drums to Guitar Hero??? Wow.Can't wait to play!
I figured out why it wasn't working for me. The red wire was out of place. After I put it back in place it would skip. This helped a lot! Thanks!
if you have the same problem but with the cymbals, you just unscrew the underneath plastic thing on the cymbal and there you will see the sensor....but you cant put a popsicle stick in there because its different, so what you can do is stick a piece of tape hardly so it pushes the sensor to the cymbal... the problem is that the sensors sometimes are more separated and they sense less trembling, so you have to hit it hard...
You are my hero! I went from one out of every twenty hits to working every time and it cost me $1.10 for a popsicle instead of $110 for brand new drums.
@FECHSTAR You were EXACTLY RIGHT!!! I unscrewed the 19 screws to see that the red wire was detached! So I just used some electrical tape and now it works better than ever! Thanks so much FECHSTAR, it means a lot that you got back to me!!! Now I can continue to "rock" :-) Thank You!!!
thanx man I tried a the first time and popped my red drum wire.. no worries tho because i used electrical tape to place them back. yet I still continued with your modification and it workds perfectly THANX ALOT!
Worked like a charm
...and gave me an excuse to eat a popsicle.
Thanks bro.
Bought some fruit bars today and used their Popsicle sticks to increase the sensitivity.
worked perfectly.
thanks for the share guys! Now i have a beautiful working drumset and fruit bars!
the red pad on my drums just started to mess up, this method tottally workd thanx
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
IT WORKED!
Sooooo much easier than messing with the wires and everything.
just tried this on my red pad and it worked perfect. before it was registering double hits quite alot but now it works fine. thanks for posting this
I havent got GHWT yet, thought christmas will bring me much joy as im getting that and a new phone but nvm that, thanks for posting this my freind had this problem and now its fine, when he hits it harder than usual it doesnt even double beat so u might have cured his and i'll bear this in mind when i get mine :P Thanks again! :)
What can i do for the cymbals? My cymbals are not very sensetive at all and i trued the taoe trick and cardboard trick and both didnt work
Thanks for video, real helpful for me because I just bought a used drum set and all of them are a bit off.
Aww this is lengendary.
i was about to fork out for a new drumb set so cheers

Might you be able to stick a rubber band under the styrofoam (sp?) using the popsicle stick or something? It might work better. I haven't tried it, but it might be worth a shot.
Thanx Dudes. You guys are friggin genius! no joke. Im gonna do this right now. keep up the good work.
Thanks dude i'm getting this for x-max and I want to fix the problems so this is gunna help a bunch
wow, very good fix, now im wondering if I should have gotten the WT drums.
I have the same problem with mu ion drum kit: the red seems to be wearing off faster than the other colors.
Why is that?
you would think yellow would wear off faster since you use it 4x more often than red...
Just want to say thanks alot for this tip. Did it for 5 minutes ago and i'm doing 99% on drums, where i used to be at 93-95. Sweet!
Was the red pad on my set that caused problems.
The vibration is transfered from the impact of the drum stick to the Popsicle stick which is so close to the censer it can pick up every hit
thank you so much for this fixing tip! haven't been aware of any dubbel hits just jet but I think my touch sensor has taken a lot of beating ^^ after doing what you said, although I used a shorter ice cream stick, now it's like it was in the beginning. TY once again
I have the same problem as you, this vid has been very helpful gonna go and try it out! ty
Thanks Mate!
You've made my (& especially my kids') day.
I did what you said, but when i opened the top part i notices that the wire to the blue one of the wire is off the glue spot how do you fix or what can i do.
I even used the RedOctane drum tuner program, it fixed everything but the red pad. But I tried this fix and used my spare DS stylus since I had no popsicle stick lol. It works wonders!
my red pad is to sensitive every other note or so it will count a double hit and if i it blue and green at the same time it will set it off or if i hit the plastic between. have any ideas?
Thank you soooo much, I was about to buy a new drum set but now I don't have to, thank you again
my red pad was working fine at first but after about .. i think a total of 6 hours it just stopped doing ANYthing, will the popcicle stick work for this aswel, im afraid to screw it open cuz it will bust my warranty in case it wouldnt work.
My blue pad is working without problems now :D Thank you.
Thank you so much dude!!!!!!!! Also gave me a reason to have a popsicle.
I did this and now my drums work again :D Thank you really much!
will this work for me:
My drum set when i hit the yellow cymbal the red pad goes off...it didnt used to do that but it started yesterday as soon as I got Smash Hits...it does the same on WT and Metallica
works perfectly, thanks!
@tuhlunksss also... i notice if i put my hand on top of the red snare, while hitting the other colors, i don't seem to have this problem. loose wire?
k thanx.. i question... what about the cymbols how can u fix them. my drums are OK they work preety well its just my yellow cymbol its so quiet!
Hi.
I have a big problem. I need 1 screw left, but I tried to hard it's starting to bend out so the screwdriver can't really get the grip of it anymore. What do I do?
Epic fix, man. Very nice
Thanks! I'll try this some time. My red doesn't work unless you push down HARD with your hand. This should fix it. Once again, thanks.
i've seen all these vids about increasing sensitivity, but how do you decrease it? my green pad registers double hits even when i hit it as soft as i possibly can.
nice vid, but with too much sensetivity wouldnt u hit the red pad when you just shake the kit a little? counting as a extra hit which will screw up ur multiplier?
anyways my red doesnt work at all so i've tried to unscrew it but nothing fits the screws. got any advice?
when eva i hit the orange symbol every now and then the yellow goes off and when i hit the yellow symbol it picks up a single hit and a double every so often its pretty annoying any advice???
Is there any way for the sensitivity of the red pad to be less? The red drum will keep hitting on it's own, and it will not give me a continuous streak.
Thank god, I always thought it was just my crap playing. :) Awesome tip and great ingenuity mate.
worked great for me thanks a lot man! i thought i needed to buy a new one
i dont see why people are saying it doesn't work mine work perfectly now thanks to this vid
cheers mate
I just did that today, haven't tried it yet. Hope it works!
good job dude, iv had to open my guitar about 10 times to fix it n i can fix anything wrong with the frets
I had the same problem except when I hit the red, the blue pad would pick up. I took a piece of a paper towel and folded it up. I wedged it into the bottom of the blue drum to dampin it. that worked well, but in your case I would try duct tape or something else to dampin the cymbol. The problem is the yellow is too sensitive. Hope that helps
thanks, but my cymbals are also not reacting. do you think i can do the same with them?
hey im having a problem with my drums, other than the red not working properly, when i hit any pad/cymbol the green is automatically being hitt causing to fail almost instantly; if you have any suggestions please help me!
@15975322 you mean the warranty that replaces it with another drum set that also won't work right?
It took me less time to fill out the form online than it would to take out half the screws on this thing. What if your cymbal has sensitivity issues in the future, are you going to staple a popsicle stick to it?
how would i mod it to be less sensitive? currently when i hit yellow, blue, orange, or green,... a red snare will come out. and when i hit the red snare once, 2 come out... HELP!
my red pad is too sensitive and when i hit the other pads that note plays so i can no longer finish the expert career so when i play now i can only do practice or ill fail
yup my red drum totally works thanks to you guys
this video.... this video touched me so beautifully
man, this totally worked for. Thanks a bunch!
I opened mine up and the sensor looks like it has a burn on it (It has little brownish spots). Is that still repairable? because I tried your Popsicle stick thing already... I still have to hit pretty hard to get anything.
I've got a problem with my red drum too however it's not the same one as you.
It was working fine for about 3 weeks, then my brother played on my drumset but played SO FRIGGING HARD (only for about 5 or 6 minutes) but now my red drum doesn't work anymore. After he played, I went back on the drums, it was responding 1 hit on 2, then I had to hit harder, then extremely hard to make it work, now it's not working whatever I do.
Do you think I could fix this with the popsicle stick?
when i hit the red pad and sometime it gives me a blue does this work for that too?
i think the actual problem is during assembly for what ever reason the reds pads do no get fastened down all the way ( the actual pad, the sensor is not the problem) what i did was was take it apart and youll see on the back side these little rubber things (rubber snaps?) that are actually what are holding the pad in place and the best thing to do is to use a pair of needle nose pliers and make sure each one is pulled all the way through, securing the pad down evenly.
where could i find a place that sells the screwdriver for the star screws?
can this work for the cymbals too'? whenever i hit the orange cymbal it automatically hits the yellow 1
its very annoying .. but for star power i only have to hit 1 ... does any body know how to fix this .. will this work for that ?
could i buy the drum set seperately? Like i was thinking i'd pay $100 for the game and guitar then buy the drum set later because i've been hearing a lot of problems with the drums, like the cymbols breaking within a week.
i removed the back and found that one of my wires had come completly off, solderd it back on now its all good. thanks for this vid to give me the idea.
how about when you just lightly touch it will it pick it up( might be anoying )
thank you so much!! this really does work! now I can finally play drums again!!! :D
in how much time you can have dis problem, since you bought?
Hmm I have a problem with my drums/guitar. The guitar controller will only connect to the drum connecter, and the drums will only connect to the guitar connecter. So gutiar charts is showing up for my drums, and drum chart show's up for my guitar. Any knows how to fix?
ayy i trying to do that but its not working like its not sticking back... we was trying fo solering the stuff but idk...try help me
hey deathlock...I had the same issue. Here's what you do. Take a pencil type soldering tool; strip the red wire (be careful cause these wires are thin); re-solder the red wire to the gold colored disk. Be sure to not interfere with the old white soldering glue. Once complete...you should be golden!!
Colud someone please tell me what he siad but in spanish??? I am learning english but i couldn´t understand him
thanks for your help
my friend was playin and i guess he must have hit the red pad too hard..but we all were hittin them pretty hard. now the red pad doesnt work at all and i dont know if i should take apart the drums and fix it..MY RED PAD WONT WORK HELP!
i need help cuze my yelllow and orange pad arent responding at all but everything else works find
hey guys i have a simalar problem but not the same, see all of my pads are fine except the red, when i hit the red pad it occasionally pics up the yellow (meaning ill hit the red but sometimes it says i hit the red and the yellow)wich really sucks if there is a long string of red hits, like in On The Road Again for example, can someone plz reply i really want to fix them, thanks
i got it 4 christmas and i was well disapointed when it sttoped working. but its not the blue, red & green, its the yellow one, it wont work at all.. any ideas? will be VERY appreciated x
For drums, it's the pedal you step on.
For the bass guitar, it's a guitar with four strings that makes a deep rhythm sound
can it work if you broke it like the red one like a crack?
Sounds like the wire on the back of the red pad came loose on you. Try to sauder it back on, if that's the problem.
would this work on a pad that doesn't register, no matter how hard I hit it?
any ideas how to fix cymbals that register double hits?
do the drums come with the receiver cus im thinking of getting this for my birthday
awesome idea, i am having the same problem with mine. but not anymore!! thanx
does this also fix the red pad if it doesnt register a note at all?
if it becomes too sensitive, try shortening the (whatever material you are using), Less material transmits less vibrations to the sensor.
my orange pad is busted it wont work at all i looked and the wire is all messed up how do i fix it?
can you see a hole in the foam after you take it out?
my red pad was doing exactly the same, what i did is this: i put a piece of foamy plastic on my red pad and attached it with some tape until it was tight, it worked perfectly
