- I put the internals of a Rock Band 1 Stratocaster into the body of a Les Paul and it's the best guitar imaginable.
The GGAHT solo buttons FC hasn't happened, and now will never happen because I figured out how to get PAL-50 working so I can actually strum the strumming solo. Crazy concept, I know. It's still an awesome guitar and I love it.

Say, this reminds me - I remember playing Highway To Hell with a Rock Band guitar, and playing the intro solo with the solo buttons. I mean, it’s still super fast either way, but I found that a lot of fun. But yeah, guitarheroROXS, that would be cool to see all the guitars you have.

My perfect guitar would be xplorer buttons with the rock band 4 strum bar
The extra fret buttons on this guitar controller would be better for Eddie Van Halen-style tapping than the Touch Strips on the Genericasters (GHWT/GH5.) This is of course no disrespect to those models, I actually like them quite a bit.

I love how the GH modding community has reached unbelievable levels of hardware modding (RGB mech frets, Raspberry Pi Pico, customizable bodies and what-not) yet they still haven't found a way to have all those features while retaining a detachable neck lol

Nice controller! It’s very similar to the custom controller I built for the DS games: I called the Gibson DS! I hacked up to guitar grips and wired them with the same wires from the original fret button PCB board of an SG PS2 controller, and wired them up to a guitar grip cartridge to fit into the DS light! I don’t have any videos on my channel but I do have some on TikTok showcasing it!
I would like to see a montage of this guitar post GH3 with in combination of the frets and the solos buttons
On the PS2 versions of GH2, and Rock Band you can hold the left button while inserting the controller and while still holding it down enter a song and you can play the guitar/bass charts without an actual guitar. I was wondering if this would work on 360, and maybe even RB4 for creation of custom guitars with just a normal controller since I have no guitar for PS2 despite owning all Harmonix GH games on PS2.
I remember the all tapping gg&ht strumming being theorized way back at rockband release. A trip down memory lane…

I always liked to imagine (when these games were still new and awesome) that i got rich and had the company make a full size guitar controller, with real weight and a high, mid, low row of buttons (15 total). And then a foot pedal accessory that you have to activate at certain points in the set to change the sound of the notes played. It would even have 6 silver painted plastic lines on the length of the neck to look (and kinda feel) like raised strings. An actual strap that doesnt rip after a month. And to top it off; a special thick rubberized pick to strum the rubberized rough “strum button”. And the last feature is that the entire face of the body would he a durable screen, powered by the controller itself, that you can change the visual appearance from an in game menu. You can select “guitar face” in the game, select zakk wylde’s black and orange sawblade, and the guitar turns that color. Yeah, expensive and impractical, but im rich and its a fantasy of l053r who doesnt have any friends, so deal with it! Haha🎶

I never really thought about how much went into this guitar holy hell dude.
Also lol, we literally just had a conversation last night that was pretty much just 10:30 to 11:07 (did you film this right after?). Learn to fix your own guitar everybody, having that knowledge is incredibly helpful if you start to come across issues.
Filmed it later that day, it's the best piece of advice I can give to any plastic guitar player

I already managed to successfully wire my PS3 Les Paul up to an Arduino, and this looks less difficult than that was.

Perfection for me would be Kiosk LP with mech switches, it really is a great guitar (except the stock neck connector). Sick build tho

I thought so too, but the whammy has a bit of delay on kiosk Les Pauls, similar to Xplorer whammies, so for my purposes it's not ideal

That's great, but you should have demonstrated how it plays. I have asked two members of the community if they had something like this, and never got a response on it. It would be awesome to be able to get guitars like these that function flawlessly like the ones that the modding community offers.
I know the video is about 9 months old but you could remove one of the bits that let you put the strap on and put the effects switch out maybe ?

I bought a guitar recently but I couldn't adapt very well I found the buttons on it extremely spaced, I can't get all the buttons right, maybe my hand is too small
How is the actuation force of the Red Chocs? In my guitar i put Kailh Choc Blue switches , that are the lightest you can get. Seriously , it feels as good as a modded silicone. You should give a try some day
I think the reds are about 50g of actuation force, they feel super light and easy to press. I used yellows at first when I started messing around with mech frets, but those were just slightly too heavy for my taste (70g) and that felt a lot like silicone to me
@@aWiseMoose The blues have a actuation force of 25g (linear). Trust me , they work like a dream. Maybe you could purchase some , for the sake of testing.

@@aWiseMoose hello , i comment again for an update: if you use use Blue Chocs , buy 1.2mm steel balls. It reduces travel distance without affecting the activation.

Does anyone know where I can buy a custom made guitar controller? Every guitar hero controller I buy ends up breaking a month later. I want one that can last me for at least a few years
I’m wanting to make something almost identical to this but I don’t know much about the wiring, would it be possible to just cut and solder the wires from each of the fret boards and connect the corresponding colors instead of having to use internals from a rockband guitar because that seems intimidating
if there is a reason for god to stay in heaven, the 12 fret guitar monstrosity you have made is definitely one of them

How does the star power on your les paul still work? My tilt and "back" button do nothing even when I have it full. I took it apart and tried moving the tilt sensor closer to the edge and still nothing.
