    Great Video! Can you please do one on Emission Dellortos and how to set them up properly compared to the normal ones. A lot of confusion on this matter on the internet. Perhaps you can dispel some of the thoughts that the later Dellorto carbs arn't good.

      Thanks man. I was close to selling them after I read the comments on the Internet forums about them. I'm glad they are good carbs and make the same power and just need to be tuned diffirently.

    I have a dellorto dhla 40 g (supposedly rubbish) my stock bottom end ford 1.8 cvh with a Kent 22 cam and slight porting is producing 135hp which is the same as you would get from a early one. I am running 63 idle ( 60 did work but was a little lean) emulsion 7772.10, mains 140, airs 180. 32 mm choke.

      This emulsion tube likes a big air jet. Minimum 200. So it likes to work on 210 airs, 7772.10 emulsion and about 140 airs. That should sound nice and pull nice.You can go to 34 choke later to see if their is improvement. Bigger is not always better.

      +jerseyboynaz it did have a 220 air but the whole thing was way way lean. 7 or so on the lambda. hence the rolling road added the 180 to get the fuel pretty close (it's fat in the middle). I take it that's pretty unusual?

      I wouldve gone bigger with mains not smaller with the airs. Try it and see how it works. I just found that these emission carbs like or work better with bigger airs. It has a smallest air it will take, else it works out of its designed range

      +jerseyboynaz thanks for the info, it does work better than it ever has tbh, but better closer fueling will always be better, it was miles off. I am currently running with twin filter socks (no back plate) are these any good? if you have an email address I can send you a picture of my dyno sheets.

      Hey I have a pair of G's aswell and I do t have them on the car yet but I looked at what's on them now. 32 chokes. 240 airs, .10 emulsion and 145 mains. Idle jet 55. Am going to put them on my golf 1.6 8v. I think the main airs are too big should I start with a 200? Or pump up the idle jet?

    Agreed go smaller on the airs. As per shauns message. 200 airs 7772.8 140 mains

      Another question, vertical pump jets, I'm guessing they are not as good as later ones. if I change them will I need to change the size? I am running 40s and they seem I little small below 2500 rpm

    • @jerseyboynaz
      @jerseyboynaz  8 років тому

      If they are too big you will consume more fuel in everyday driving. Also they will cause a bog or hesitation at 3000 rpm.. Problem is if you make them bigger you cant go back. if you have spares to test, try it.
      I have found that trial and error is the best way as what works for me is different for you.

      and are these recommendations for .1 venturis or .3 venturis. I havnt taken mine out to see what they are but i think the G's have .3 vents.

      +ellasOLE22 I haven't had my auxiliary vents out. They are what ever is standard on the 40G for alpha.
