FNS Pori is Hamina class missile boat, a type of fast and stealthy attack craft "ohjusvene" of the Finnish Navy. The vessel's hull is constructed of aluminum and the superstructures are constructed of re-enforced carbon fiber composite. The vessels have a very low displacement and are very maneuverable. They are equipped with water jets instead of propellers, which allow them to operate in very shallow waters. Pori is powered by a pair of MTU V-16 diesels driving Rolls-Royce Kamewa water-jets, and can achieve speeds in excess of 30 knots.
The Hamina class has been designed and constructed as stealth ships with minimal magnetic, heat and radar signatures.The shape of the vessel has been designed to reduce radar signature. Metal parts have been covered with radar absorbent material. Radar transparent materials (kevlar, balsa) have been used in construction.
this little "boat" has the capability to brake nimitz class in half.... I would not say thats nothing.

How fast does the Hamina class go in knots? Anyone know?
Some1 know but they dont thell you so go with that 30 kts, what is offically said. I say they go much fastern.
I know a person who served on it and he said it can go 48 knots
I was serving on that some 15 years ago. Easily 75 knots... Those water jets have a jet turbine mode, after which the vessel can utilise ground effect and basically turn into an aircraft.

Incredible lack of shielding to gunfire on the rear. I wonder if jetted water can throw a torpedo off track.. Hope there is also a camera based command center inside. (Get on it men)
It looks really beautiful though, and its speed and maneuverability might be able to escape men with guns and rain hell on them.
I believe the aft is submerged while cruising and it's no more vulnerable then screws at that point.

She is a fast missile boat with Saab RBS Antiship missiles with a range over 100 km and umkhonto antiair launchers. If she is hit by gunfire from the rear, the crew is propably swimming. :)
