Motifs and Callbacks can give a sense of home, reminding events of the past. In music, when executed right, can bring an unexpected and intense feeling to the listener. The original song being part of a quadrology, call backs to previous songs ties them together. Plus I thought it would sound really cool ^^
Oh my gosh this is EPIC, I hope you do Find the Pieces & Dragonhearted to go along with this! This brings me back to the days before Dragonhearted came out, I loved the trilogy so much & this just made it even better!!
The part where you used Fallen Kingdom (Viva La Vida technically) gave me goosebumps and made me feel tears wanting to come out, the use of it was perfect and I commend you on it heavily. This is one of the best covers I have ever listened to.
