I'm one of the only Destreza practitioners in my area and when I face Italian-style fencers they mainly note that the smooth motions of the Art are the most jarring feature to them. They are much more used to the more explosive and transient movement of linear fencing. The circular nature, binding, grappling, and smooth footwork makes it difficult for them. Practitioners of other swords don't suffer as much though. Especially those practicing early rapier (spada de lato or "sidesword") and those who practice a lot of Longsword or Eastern Sabre.
The rapiers in destreza are actually shorter and wider than a typical rapier since the school of fencing focuses more on moving around your opponent rather than contesting their range.
Sounds a bit like the Wing Chun of fencing. So I suppose like in hand to hand when the opponnts reflexes work at a certain speed there is no real chance controlling his arms or weapon any more and you need to change tactics. But it was a very good and very informative description of the system.

Отличный обзорный материал.
Все ясно объяснено.
Could you recommend some masters that I can study and improve my way to fight based on this video subject?
Luis Pacheco de Narváez
Awesome! More topics please.
What rapiers are you using? Maybe it is just your skill and strength but they look fast and like a lot of fun!

Now I understand why Thibault always says his advice to completely impale your opponent is different from the "common art"

Similar but Destreza kinda got it mathematical on position and how you'd react to the lines against opposition.

4:00 as a Mexican, I know this statement to be bullshit.
I concur. In war was different. Still, I concur. We were not much into murderous rituals, that wasn't catholic at all.

Hacer un video en inglés sin saber pronunciarlo es que te quedas sin entender ni la mitad de lo que se intenta decir.
No necesariamente
Hombre no, si tienes bastante nivel y soltura con el inglés se entiende más o menos bien, además de darte cuenta de cada fallo. 🤣

His accent is perfectly fine.
