The Empire State Building is my favorite building in the world! I went up to both observatories several years ago. I went up at night and took a selfie on the 102nd floor, with Times Square lit up down below behind me. It was worth it. One of the early concepts for the 102nd floor was that it would be a docking place for airships, like those huge zeppelins of the 1920s and 1930s. But it was too windy that high up so that idea was scrapped. But how cool would it have been to board an airship like that.
Great video tour. And yes this is a good tourist spot one should visit. Empire State Building is a art deco master design with great views from all sides. Once was the tallest building in the world back in the industrial boom of America.
86th obervation deck is 1050 feet above the street. 102 floor level is about 1235 feet up, with the roof over the 103 floor machine room at 1250 feet, and the antenna goes to 1472 ft.
Wow, there's a lot more to it than I expected, it's an experience. I always assumed the fee was to just go up to the observation deck. Good information! 👍
Hi there, so, going there during the sunset costs extra. That is a special "experience" they offer on their website. I recommend you visit their website to see how much and what time you have to arrive.
Extremely worth it, I went to the USA for the first time in may for my birthday and I called my mom from the 102nd floor back in the UK. I want to become an American citizen one day, the New Yorkers were so kind to me.
There's a 103rd floor which has severely restricted access and then above that a 104th floor in which only technicians are allowed to enter (The guys who service the electronic equipped connected to the transmission mast on top of the building.
OMG ! $80.00 😱 It's been a long time since I've been up there but 80 dollars is a lot of money , I think I spent $12.00 in the 80s and the only thing that changed since was bigger windows and some more buildings around NYC , they should make it more family friendly by lowering that price . Anyway ,,,,,,, Did you know the nickname for the empire state building was "" THE GORILLA BUILDING "" And back years ago they even had a giant gorilla shaped inflatable lashed on the side about mid way up . I still can't believe 80 dollars , so for two people 160 bucks plus souvenirs at the gift stand , I think for a few dollars more id take a helicopter ride around Manhattan . Thanks very much for sharing this video with us , I especially appreciate it because I no longer live in ny state and was curious 👍
@@EDDvlogs Yeah, there is a video on youtube of someone going up there. Not really much of a view since there are no windows except for one small one. Still kind of cool though.
Depends on what you want to get out of it. If you want to go through all the exhibits, read all the stuff they got, I would say 1:30-2 hrs, but there are people who just go to the top floors as fast as they can, so you could do this in 30 mins, but no fun! haha
I don't understand how they justify these prices. Every historic structure in NYC cost around $50 plus tax. How does it cost more to maintain these sights than a pro sports game, a rock concert and a movie combined? It sure as hell isn't about demand since I never saw more than 5 people enter any of these places at the same time in the middle of a major holiday. and a bet half of them left right after getting sticker shock, like me.
nice views are only for the rich in NYC, just like sporting events, parking, eating out. The middle class are suppose to take the subway with the bums and eatgreasyy fast food so we die younger.

Woah, that fact is crazy and I didn’t know abt it! Thanks for sharing 🙌🏼
Absolutely worth the price! Just went the other day and was so impressed with the view and the intimacy of the floor and views. Wowwww!
One of my favorite buildings of the New York City Skyline. Great job my friend! Thank you for sharing this video!

Thanks for the kind words, and for the insight :)
I was thinking what’s the difference between 86 and 102, then I saw your video! Very detailed and helpful! Thank you so much!
My pleasure! Hope you have a great time during your visit 🙌🏼

I'd settle for the 86th floor observation area because it's outside.
Definitely a great option!
Great video. With my vertigo, this is how I want to enjoy the views.

That was my reaction! Pretty cool huh?
Thanks for the comment 🙌🏼
Fanatastic video!!! Thank you for all the information 💪
My pleasure!

the view is beautiful, but my fear of heights could never!!
Nice video 👌

My pleasure! And yes, definitely a pricey experience 😅
Thanks for the cool history facts abt this place !
Top of the rock stands as the best in my opinion
I am going to the 103rd floor it's the real 🔝top
I had a job interview on the 18th floor@ Broadway Personnel. I don't know if they're still there.
Woah, having an interview there sounds exciting and intimidating at the same time lol
Did you go up to the secret 103rd floor?
I didn’t know that was a thing!

Which one is the one that you stand on glass?
I looked it up and it’s called The One Vanderbilt skyscraper
@@EDDvlogs oh okay thanks but ouu very interesting lol
I believe it's called The Edge but I'm not sure @@ihavenolife3857
Looks like components on a printed circuit board.
What month did you go??
This was recorded on April 27th
$245 for 3 people. That doesn't include state and local sales tax. Maybe $100 could be worth it but definitely not more.

It is pretty ridiculous indeed
It's the 102nd floor.
Not the 102th.
