Thought I had left a message here. This red Firestorm comes from the New 52. At the beginning of that comic it was Ronnie Raymond and Jason Rush. They couldn´t combine to make Firestorm. But each of them could become their own Firestorm. Jason would have this cotume but on yellow, and besides of flight, he kept the transmutation powers. Ronnie was this red version of Firestorm and, besides of flight, he just kept the nuclear fire powers. As for Hawkman, not so long ago, Robert Venditti wrote a Hawkman comic that lasted around 29 issues or so that explained (finally) the full story of the character. Goes through all his past lives...and, eventually, Hawkgirl is added to the story and her origins are explained too. Totally worth it. As far as his powers go, I can´t recall from the comic, but at least prior to it each writer would give their own explanation. Some would say that he could fly because of the wings. In other cases the wings would appear when needed. In others he has them permanently attached. Sometimes the wings are part of the costume. In other times they are part of him (as he´d feel if they´d get injured). While other times it was the harness/belt made of Nth metal (as the mace) that make him fly...BUT if he doesn´t have the wings he couldn´t go where he wanted. So basically, the harness/belt would just make him float and the wings would carry him where he wanted.
Great review! Do you know the rarity of the chase version versus the standard edition of these figures? Very curious .... I do think they are all interesting (couldn't stand the unpainted versions a while back)
I feel Mcfarlane is getting better with every year in terms of accessories, paint apps and sculpt. It is clear he is learning and improving. Even the Frost King 👑 BAF which was released a year ago is still one of the best in terms of sculpt. This hawkman even though is not 💯% comic accurate is still fantastic and is a definite pick up!
they look fantastic. getting better since Atom and Booster Gold...brings me back to yesteryears with DCUC... I enjoyed the hunt in Wal-mart, KBs, Target and K mart looking for those..but McF is stepping it up..
@@dHuntersReviews yeah, me too, recently it's online for me. it wasn't really a hunt as I got them in stores where we do our groceries on the weekends, its just finding stuff readily available on shelves before.
The Hawkman needs a Yellow wash for his orange color and a lime wash for the green. The wings should have been a soft white with a blue flush then a dusty brown.
$50 for a repainted figure of a classic character is obnoxious. We've been asking Todd for more dc characters and he's putting it behind exclusive titles/releases and now higher prices. I was already not in favor of the $30 price tag, and now it seems like Todd has doubled-down on pushing what he can ask for a figure; $50?. I am waiting for the price reveal of the classic Wonderwoman to further determine where I am with this whole company. As it is, I have decided to cut back and cancel some of my pre-orders.
This isn’t $50, that’s just bbts price hiking. They are $29.99 randomly packed in. Annoying? Yes! $29.99 too much? Yes. Was I willing to pay $50? Yes. McFarlane isn’t the one charging $50, but they are the ones that chose to make this one rare.
@@dHuntersReviews What? I'm glad you said that. UGH! BBTS is always my "go to" place and I think it's wrong that they amped up the price at the get go like a scalper. It's their right to do so but seems dishonest to me. If it had been a year later, maybe, but not at pre-orders. This practice leaves a mark for me for BBTS.
Hawkman is pretty much the only Platinum Chase figure I really want. Probably won't be able to find him though. I am very happy with the Zero Hour version, so if I never do find the chase, it won't bum me out too much. I'll try to snag one if/when McFarlane does the EQL lottery for people to buy those figures like he's done in the past for other chases. But that's kind of a long shot.

Yeah, I want to change hands on my Platinum edition and construct a power claw for the right hand to look like the Filmation version of Hawkman. He would also get a haircut, too.

The Sinestro body in that green color but with the GL logo should be another figure. Maybe a different head to be another character and some armor effect
Found the platinum version in store yesterday, i really like the dark red on it compared to the colours they chose for the regular release .

Yes, but it would require some work to make. It look good when you are done definitely some painting maybe some sanding.

I see this as a transformer Sinestro not a Green Lantern variant. It eould have been 10 times better if adding a gand holding a green lantern ring.
