I had to double take when I saw this vid appear in my UA-cam feed.... one of the best games on the NES. I can usually out run Edna in the kitchen but I didn't know you could just glitch her out. I thought I knew everything about this game.
Always loved this game, the fact that their were multiple ways to beat it was pretty unique at the time. Plus what other game can you place a hamster in a microwave in order to provoke a murder????
Agreed...but the best moment was when you called the gas-station and they delivered the fuel for that chainsaw after waiting 30 Minutes on the front door...awesome 🤯
Sadly not every version allowed you to do the old hamster in the microwave gag... In the version I had as a kid, whenever you tried to turn on the microwave with the hamster in it or put the hamster in the microwave the character would say that was sick snd wouldn't let you... I think it was the PAL release. When I first emulated it you better believe thr first thing I did was try it out... didn't realise Ed was gonna go ape on me 🤣
I had so much fun with this game on the commodore 64 which actually had a little better format and graphics than the NES version. These point and click games were so mind-blowing coming from playing games like zork before them.
The lack of music and the creepier aesthetic were brilliant on the original C64 version. I love the nes version but the original creeped me it so much as a kid, I loved it.
I spent HOURS on this one trying to get all the endings and combinations of characters to get them. Still to this day one of my favorites. Damn fine soundtrack, too.
I use to love playing this back in the day. Such a fun game and amazing they were able to pack it into a NES cart. It was originally a computer game for the Commodore 64 and then ported to other computer systems and the NES.
I never could beat this game as a kid only to learn later by watching YT how it's done. Collecting change, winning the kid over by returning his hamster, feeding the venus fly trap the right food, using the. Postage stamps, using the character that could develop film..
This was one of my favorite games as a kid. It took me absolutely weeks to get no where on it, and I loved every confusing minute of it. If you told me it was beatable in under 10 mins, I would have never believed you! I love watching Arcus, not only is the nostalgic so addictive, but his calm demeanor is something I wish I had!
Nice! I remember trying to play this game as a child and failing, I couldn't understand the pointer and ended up giving up! But I still remember it as one of the few NES games I played! 15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
At the end how do you open the door to get past the purple tentacle on my game the purple tentacle gets me on you're he stands still and lets you open the door how do I open the door without him throwing me back in the dungeon I'm at the end of the game using this ending but I can't get the door open with him getting me.
There is a alternate ending Easter egg where sid and wendy make a porn video with several items around the house and send it to the TV guy who in turns ask for a 3 way
so the main barriers are: glowing key to open the locks (found in pool) pass code (skippable puzzle because Dr hasn't played the arcade yet) passing purple tentacle (bypassable via bug) key card (under the hamster, easy to get) "do something about meteor" which in this run just involves getting the yellow Edsel key in tentacle's room, no puzzles Is there a category for this run where you don't use the purple tentacle bug? Or even requires you to solve the arcade puzzle "as intended"?
Oh wow, the only game in the world I'm able to speedrun. My best time is nowhere near yours but I never thought to try the doorbell trick with Syd at the end there. I'd actually call the space police or whatever they are to take the meteor away. I do have a tip that I doubt even saves time but who knows! When you use the weightlifting equipment, you can press B as soon as he lifts the bar, he doesn't need to put it back down and he'll still say "wow I feel so much stronger"
This game was my childhood. Had it for NES. Other platforms just couldn't match it. Hamster in the nuker, classic. Under 10min to complete. Took me 10minutes just to get in the house when I was a kid. Excellent.
I played this game some and I don't remember how long it took me to beat it but their was so much more to do. Ha ha 😂 I think I finally beat it eventually.
8:34 - That's Doctor Fred trying to turn off the self destruct system. If you turn the music off you'll hear the same beeps. Is this the build of the game where you can microwave the hamster?
My all-time favorite Game on this console, the soundtrack alone is banger.
Absolute belter it is

@@matzeherd1343 Never heard of this before, which version had this?
@@alphakub 😂😂😂
@@tomfrost6049 I think it may have actually depended on which character you tried to do it with.
fun fact: This version of the game runs in ScummVM, so if you wanna play it with mouse or touchscreen support, there you go.

Zork 4eva

My love for point and click adventures began with this masterpiece 😍

Shut up Vyvyan
@@bherb1204 OI!
Bernard.... don't be a tunahead! 😂
It has bits of fur like my hamster's! Oh no!!! What did you do!!!!
Ugh, this game truly pissed me off constantly.
12 full ounces, thats alot!
Classic

The final time said 9:30 but the title says 9:15. Why the disparity?
Came to ask the same thing. I can understand the count being off by as much as a second, but 15 seconds is an eternity in this kind of run.
per the official rules, the timer starts when the verb menu first shows up and ends as soon as the car starts.
You can beat this game with only Dave. You can see the playthrough on my page.
Yeees! I haven't been this excited for an upload in a while!
Reset, mash mash mash, and clunk!
I freaking love this game. Thank you for the video!
The only thing I ever knew how to do is this game was set off the nuke.

Hey everyone please stop texting him during his game play. Distracting him and it's not cool
Words of truth 😇
I watched three episodes of arcus before I realized it wasn’t Ron Howard 🤪

Bernard's theme is stuck in my head forever 😅
I loved this game but never really knew how to beat it
I applaud the cowboy hat sir, you need a bigger one though.
Yes! I've been begging for this one for 2 months! Thank you

One of my faves!! I played the hell out of the DOS version.. The NES was alright but the censorship sucked.. Bunch of TUNA HEADS!!
this game is far too scary for me

This is nuts..a true Maniac
Who's this maniac?
This would be a great Halloween October stream on your channel
Sweeeeet. If you ever did DotT or Monkey Island that would be sooooooo rad. I know they're not NES however.
Watching this made my day and wanting to beat this game after 30 years !!! I still have it :D
OMG I had this as a kid in the 80s!!! or was it 90s... holy wow!
Love this game! Arcus! My first puzzle game to figure out everything
Unreal athlete. I am horrible at this game. But it’s funny you can micro wave the hamster.
And wtf are bits?
I want to see you speed run CLASSIC CONCENTRATION
The music is awesome
Is there a game you just cannot beat??
Love the game but absolutely hated the NES version.
C=64 days ☺️

Why not use Syd to turn the water back on?
Dave method still slightly faster?
