    Dame didn't have the right to say he didn't work hard......that was crossing the line. Once someone constantly disrespects you, it's time to part ways. I don't care how long you've been friends. That was some disrespectful shit!

    • @benwilliams9527
      @benwilliams9527 8 років тому +19

      Its funny that dame said Hop doesn't work hard, when he LITERALLY put FV on lol that's like birdman saying Wayne doesn't work hard

    • @silence6813
      @silence6813 8 років тому +4

      I agree Dizzy warned Dame before the FV group did their meeting Dizzy told and warnedDame do not tell Hopsin does not work hard enough again, but he did it anyway. The way Dame said that was in a disrespectful way.

      DeniseN I know this was along time ago, but I still miss funk volume, dammit, it was special. Imo, I feel hop went to far, he’s known for that type of shit, I’m more like dizzy, if dame would say some shit I didn’t like I’d just talk to him about it, maybe even put him in his place! There grown ass men, if it was that serious I’m sure dame wouldn’t say it again...hop didn’t handle it well and tarnished the whole legacy! 😢

      Ben Williams you got your comparison backwards

  • @trevzzdadevz
    @trevzzdadevz 8 років тому +82

    The thing is the others can't fully relate to Hopsin because they haven't worked as hard as he has to build FV to stage it was at. About 85% of the FV brand is because of Hopsin, which is why it gets to him so much. It's deeper for him.

    • @thxwanderer
      @thxwanderer 8 років тому +2

      +Trev K I agree. And I feel like as soon as Jarren's part came out, it's like oh Hop's lying. But do people still need to realize that he built up FV on his back? The name of the label is his own rap name. Like, come on now. He carried it endlessly and for Dame to all of a sudden start to disrespect him? It was the only sensible thing to do to leave. He may not have been the smartest person on the label, but he admitted that truthfully. He made mistakes and now he's moving on from it. End of story. And ILL MIND 8 sounds truthful, too truthful. You put the truth in a track and it'll show no matter who it is. I'm glad that Jarren had his opportunity to talk and I hope that everyone can just move on from this.

    As a fan, the reason why it didn't seem like funk volume was popping was because of how humble and personable Hopsin is. Seeing Hopsin reach out to so many fans, making music in his bedroom, etc. all make it seem like he's not as big as he really is. Music was dope as fuck from jarren dizzy and hop tho no doubt. But being an independent also made it seem like funk volume was smaller than it was.

    Still on Hopsin with this one so far. Even though Jarren tried to smooth the story and remove important details, it shows that what Hopsin was saying was pretty accurate. Hopsin never said that the new management talk was ever on any "fuck Dame" shit and I don't understand why Jarren felt the need to try and correct it. Also on Dame's "you don't work hard" comment..... no matter how he may have mean't it, I don't feel a comment should come from the one who allegedly works less and acts bitter because someone wants to get new management which was what led to that scenario in the first place.

    Jarrens being really nice to not burn any bridges. In no way should the manager of a tour make more money than one of the artists on it. That's flat out bullshit. I'm glad hop said something, because it only gets worse from there.
    Hop didn't need to network. He was the biggest name on the label. He had his own way of marketing and it worked, hence his popularity. He's done plenty of interviews. Look at king los. King los is the best MC out right now, but interviews didn't kick start his career. Hopsin did something right.

    • @TheTinyTimmyTimTim
      @TheTinyTimmyTimTim 8 років тому

      LC-King Beats I don't know about that. They were selling funk volume merchandise on the tour, and Dame also set it up because he's their manager as well as label owner

      +chalkerrulez Why would Hopsin lie? it's stupidt to even think so. Lmao Hopsin simply got tired of Dame he left his OWN fucking label just to get away from that greedy shit Damien. And Swizz is a fucking pothead that's all he represents smoking weed since when is smoking weed "OMG He's a genius" kinda thing all weed smokers are low ass fuck, they are so relaxed they live in a "comfort zone" he probably doesn't care he just want to "roll" with things not change anything I don't see any effort from that fella Swizz

    I wish he went over to Hopsin's side.
    He still has the potential to bring out a classic album and under him it would've been more likely.
    None of them have the reach the Hopsin does and the views show that.
    Even Dizzy is struggling.
    They should've all trusted Hopsin on this after everything he's been through and done.

    The Main REASON I fucked with FV is because of the diversity it had as a crew. Hes right about the TDE and PRO ERA comparison as well. Funk Volume's branding was starting to spoil instead excel like some of it's competitors. But I feel like all of these artist still have a future in Hip Hop as long as they so choose to be there for it

    I want to ride with Hopsin so badly, but Jarren is so spot on on this whole situation. Hopsin lets his emotions/ego get the best of him, and once he took to social media, he completely committed to going the full distance of bashing Dame's name, making Ill Mind 8, and starting over. He is, like Jarren implied, pretty immature for not talking it out but rather publicly bashing Dame.

    • @Jjjazzj4
      @Jjjazzj4 8 років тому +3

      I gotta disagree. Jarren's playing more diplomat here, he barely has a dog in this fight. What I got from this interview is that he wasn't as invested (personally) in the whole situation to have an opinion. As long as he had a record deal, and was getting sales, he was happy. For the amount that JB talks about thinking bigger and beginning a brand of his own, it seems to me he was perfectly ok riding the FV name as far as it would take him. And now that hes in his own lane, esp. given he's probably the least CONSISTENT among Hop and Dizzy (I really do rock with his music tho), it'd be bad business to enter the next phase of his career with past drama. I get it, but I don't see this as the "voice of reason."

    • @schmaelepaulection1431
      @schmaelepaulection1431 8 років тому +2

      +Jjjazzj4 You have voiced my opinions perfectly. Jarren is playing Devil's advocate in this interview and they skipped over important statements made on both sides that I personally feel should've been addressed. Seeing as he is a third party, and in a diplomatic role, he could've given his opinion and his truths to those statements made so that we could have more to go on when it comes to "who's to blame" or who was more responsible in the end of FV

    • @SHIFTKICK
      @SHIFTKICK 8 років тому

      Schmaele Paulection Do you then disagree that FV could have stayed together if Hopsin slept on his feelings and didn't go on a social media rant? I still think Hopsin has some maturing to do, and will never be sure how honest he is. I'll keep riding with him though and am curious to see what the future brings. Hop's interview was very interesting in how it reflected on the behind-the-scenes aspect of the music industry, and the difference between someone who is merely a rapper versus someone who has great networking skills, meets lots of other rappers, and gets his name circulated around the mainstream for various reasons.

    • @schmaelepaulection1431
      @schmaelepaulection1431 8 років тому +2

      +SHIFTKICK Honestly, I personally feel that even if Hopsin slept on it this would've come to play, slowly but surely. Based on Hopsin's recollections his trust in Dame started to crumble over the years as he asked more questions. Think about it this way, Hopsin and Dame mixed friendship and business. Hopsin admitted that he was naive in some parts of their business relationship because he let Dame wear so many hats and control so much. Even though he had his suspicions he let stuff slide and let it all build up and hit the fan. I think this was bound to happen at some point, but that's just my opinion

    • @SHIFTKICK
      @SHIFTKICK 8 років тому

      Schmaele Paulection I agree that the problem would build up, I just don't know if Hopsin could have threatened to leave if he couldn't get his own manager and fix anything else he had a problem with. It appears he left without trying to negotiate, which is what I am questioning. FV was his creation and you'd think he wouldn't leave that readily. I like hearing others' opinions on this though.
