It really speaks to the quality of Dark Souls as a whole when even the "worst" game is still amazing. But I am biased though, because I have over 3,000 hour split between PS3 & PC 😆
DS2 had the most coherent story and themes. It may be a technically worse game (by personal metrics, I still love it all), but its story is unparalleled until maybe Elden Ring.
Even worse, her brother will invade you in the entrance of Aldia's Keep (at least in the Scholar of the First Sin edition), just out of view of Lucatiel herself. She likely came to Drangleic not just to find a cure for herself, but to find her brother as well. And she almost did.
Another interpretation is she found her brother, but could still not beat him. Each death an inability to proceed wearing away the last vestiges of her memory.
I like Lucatiel's quest. It's my favorite in the game. Problem is that its the only quest with a character worth anything :p the only other one that comes to my mind is pate.... and both pate and the other guy are assholes and i couldnt care less about them besides the rewards at the end Lucatiel feels like the only "complete" quest in the game. And sadly, it just ends abruptly.
I do quite like Lucatiel's story in DkS2 yes. Also good touch that her brother invades you as well, giving the hint that he's hunting for humanities to give to Lucatiel. Fromstoft stuff :}
DS2 is my favourite DS game. 1 is probably the best game but its unfinished and unpolished. Lots of clunky mechanics and stuff that felt like a first draft. Ds3 is the most polished game, but its totally edgeless and especially prior to the ringed city it didnt feel like it had a single original thought to express. DS2 may not have come together all that well but its full of innovation in mechanics, build diversity, and story ideas. Its so sad that DS3 abvandoned all the interesting lore 2 established in favor of just doing DS1 again.
Most brain dead take to ever exist. Ds2 feels like dogshit thanks to adaptability and shit hitboxes. Ds3 had a shit ton of soul, it had a lot of fan service yes but that it expected since it’s the last game of the franchise. Ds3 also gave us the best dlcs in the franchise with some of the best bosses in the the whole soulsborne series.
Another 3-6 months of polish and playtesting and people would’ve lauded it as the best darksouls. It does so so so many things right, but the things it gets wrong are crippling.
So I've played through this game about 50 times and I really love it. But man, it doesn't compare to the other games in the series. So many bugs, so many wonky hitboxes, so many awful bosses. Everything is so bright, everything feels so weightless. It's a good game, yes, but it's the worst in the souls series by a long shot.
@@rebelraime2524literally all the souls games are that, all of them heavily rely on using the same tactic repeatedly, in ds2 it’s just constant strafe spam.
Ds2 fans are legitimately insecure. They cannot accept liking a bad game. It HAS to be good because they like it... and surely i cant like a bad thing, right?? It HAS to be a hidden masterpiece and better than what came before or after. And the (special emphasis on this word) *average* experience on ds2 IS dreadful, it is annoying to most players. But the fans for some reason prefer disregarding the majority who disliked its aspects in favor of keeping a mentality of "actually, IM the smart one, cause i got it. And only me and a few others know its the best one" Ive talked about ds2 online plenty, sadly. And every conversation goes the same, people just cant man up and accept that yeah, i can like this even though its bad. So you have people like domo3000 making a thousand videos or posting comments in everything that ever mentions ds2, all saying the same thing "Ds1/3 did bad things too!" Cause they literally cannot defend this thing without bringing the others down. And hey, i like ds2 for some stuff. I like Lucatiel and her quest (mostly cause its the only one with an actual character) and i love the music of ds2, but the amount of glazing in some videos is ridiculous.
@@dotflann you are more insufferable than any ds2 fan. you cannot accept that people genuinely like the game and pretend it is objectively bad. no one is forcing you to play it. just shut the fuck up already.

The story of er is bs. To break it down its a family drama.

There's a reason Lucatiel is still my favorite character in the franchise.

Dark Souls 2 does a lot of things better. DS1 is clunky, and heavy, DS3 has no soul.
I really hated how soulless ds3 felt but I have to admit its part of the story and art behind the game, and its message.
Ds2 amazingly felt clunkier than Ds1 but anyway...

You can count the qualities of this game on the fingers of a pinguin. it's broken and unfinished on nearly every point.
Channel name checks out.
My whole branding is centered around being accepting of your own mediocrity.
Maybe that's why I tolerate Dark Souls II.
