GRASS I HAVE SOME AMAZUNG NEWS FOR YOU ON TUMBLR NEIL SAID HES MAKING A SCRIPT FOR S3 RN BUT THERES A STRIKE GOING ON HE SAID HED BE ABOUT HALF WAY FINISHED IF IT WASNT FOR THE STRIKE
neil on his tumblr said even if season 3 isn’t renewed, he’d write a book or so an audio drama or something. He said won’t just leave the story unfinished
Loving what Michael said here - it made me realize how Good Omens is basically the embodiment of the rainbow flag 😂 It's all about love, all the kinds of love there are. Including the love of humanity itself, Neil is always brilliant at conveying that. And in the end it's not a question of whether it's a romance or not, because one would have to be blind not to see that, but about it being even more than just a romance.
@@thatluneboy For real, it was bad enough sweating over Netflix doing Season 2 of Sandman, hopefully Amazon doesn't stress the fans out, this is the dream team.
@thatluneboy If it isn't renewed I would think/hope that there might be an audio production of some kind that included both of them, though not having the visuals would be a loss. I don't know about Michael but David has done quite a bit of audio work, including radio shows and a whole series of audios for Big Finish with Catherine Tate. Neil has produced a number of audiobooks and does the reading on his own audiobooks unless there's a good reason not to (he didn't do American Gods because he can't do an American accent.)
As long as the writers strike doesnt last too long we should have s3 in 2027!! But if prime doesnt get enough watches of s2 then its not gonna happen apparently
These poor guys... I have seen so many interviews in this format wearing these same clothes. Did they just donate a day of their lives to sitting in a studio and taking turns with different interviewers all day long? If so, thanks guys, love your acting and yourselves. AND I add my voice, Season 3 is not just wanted but is needed on so many levels for fans that appreciate good writing and acting that entertains and evokes true emotion.
This is pretty much standard when new TV show or movie comes out, the actors (and sometimes writers and directors) do a press junket - that means they're sitting in a room for like 12 hours and reporters come in one by one and talk to them for 5-10 minutes. And it's usually the same questions over and over, so actors generally hate it with a passion. It's part of their contract though. (I can't remember who said it, but I read an interview with an actress once who said "They are not paying me to act, I would do that for free. They're paying me for the promo tour.") That's why during the SAG-AFTRA strike actors are not allowed to do promotion for their projects, because it counts as part of their jobs.
I do not know what I will do with myself if we do not get a season 3. Season 1 got me through my first year of college, and season 2 is getting me through my day job. Season 3 is an absolute need, even if it takes it's time coming.
So cursory glance looks like a season 3 is imminent (the producer indicated it's all but assured)--Neil has expressed if they were not striking, he would be writing. I am hopeful that the writers and actors are able to secure fair negotiations quickly so that we can get the ineffable husbands back together!
I am inspired by Aziraphale's expression when he's faced with a stupidity that sweet smile and the look in his eyes cracks me up. And of course, Tennant is off the charts good. Constantly amazed how totally immersed these guys are in Good Omens it's like watching a master class in acting. I know there are a lot of Easter eggs I haven' spotted (like Crowley's newspaper is talking about Adam's village in S1 and the monster in Loch Ness lol and the laudanum bottle is by "C. Dibbler" on the label, a character of Terry Pratchett's Discworld. ) Anyway needless to say that Season 3 is imperative. Make me happy, Amazon.
This felt like a really difficult interview for them both, because I think they know where the story is going and they are both desperately trying not to give anything away.
You can tell they were both trying to avoid giving anything major away here lol. Now that it has been out for a while, I'd be really interested in hearing them talk more in depth about where their characters went this season. Not even necessarily the kiss itself, (they were both asked about that already at the first possible opportunity lol) but about the build-up of the season, how they felt about exploring such complex sides to these characters, what types of acting choices they made, etc.
yeah so quick question: didn't pride magazine JUST slander "Good Omens" as "not inclusive" and "basically queerbaiting" and "the fans making shit up over what is a bromance"? JUST.SAYING: Not sure who was in charge of THAT article (obvs someone who has neither read the book/seen S1/did any research at all) but I do think an apology/another article is in DIRE need! especially considering this is pride magazine, I mean....the fuck?

1:07 can't believe noone mentioned David saying about Crowley "confronting some truths he's been denying" and then turning to look meaningfully at Michael ❤😍✨✨

Ok what I learned from this video 1. Don’t listen to this with headphones in the dark cause it sounds like someone’s in the room and you die, and 2. There’s a season 2 of good omens which I had no idea about
0:31 ?? how? did she meant like bc it was aziraphaels turn to make. a move? or she’s implying that it was weird? bc crowley was always the one with me moves /gq
I this also that aziraphale was always in denial more than crowley. So aziraphale has more of a distance to tread before they both end up on an equal footing
@@gwinnellheald8592 I think romantic love is viewed by angels as something that is only for humans. Like many other Earthly things (food for example). So that is why Aziraphale has a hard time to grasp that maybe romantic love could be something he can experience too, and that perhaps what he feels towards Crowley is exactly that.
The woman doing the interview... how can she not be crying the whole interview, she says she's seen the end of the season. I think she lied. She didn't watch episode 6.
I’d think probably not. I think it’s probably weird for Neil gaiman to even do this show without terry pratchett, and writing the book would be even weirder
I disagree. I find movies and film can show who a character is in a deeper way, showing their inflection when they speak, showing exactly the faces they make In reaction to what’s happening, what their body language is, you can use music to portray what the character is feeling. None of this is possible in books. In a book, mentioning every little tic and movement a character does becomes redundant and repetitive, but in a show for example you can have a character who is constantly fidgeting with the rim of their coat and it wont become redundant because it’s happening in the background. You cannot put things “in the background” in a book, every word becomes front and center, you end up missing giant parts of the story because youre so focused on one single thing at a time. If you mentioned the body language and facial expressions of the character for every single sentence they spoke, it would get boring and repetitive quite fast. Film doesnt have to mention anything, its just there on screen whilst the characters talk and not taking up any more time than necessary.
listen love it but somehow they made this show super gay but didn’t let the queer couple date but the straights one didn’t even made them wait. lol im not saying is queerbaiting bc is not but it does hurt.
absolutely get where youre coming from although i would point out that beelzebub is canonically nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns in the show, so it may or may not be straight but either way it is still queer!
@@samlueke2855but it’s straight passing. fact is, queer or not, two blatantly queer relationships were heavily implicated then either ended in nothing or in tragedy, while the straight passing relationship got to be happy. there’s no guarantee of a season 3, so if the series ends here, that’s where the story ends, and that leaves a sour taste in my mouth as a queer viewer.
@@danielthemaniel1697I partially agree, but I couldn't say Nina and Maggie ended in nothing. They're still attracted to each other, and still want to be together, but Nina just got out of a relationship and isn't ready to be in another one, especially with a lady that's only been her friend for a few days. But she does like Maggie and wants to be with her, eventually, and Maggie is willing to wait for her. I think it's a natural path for their relationship to take after Aziraphale and Crowley trying to forcibly push them together - you can't enchant two people together, they have to want it.
Well, first of all beelzebub and gabriel are not a straight couple, and even if they are passing they don’t have nearly as much screentime as the two other queer ones. Sure, they end happily but the queer ones have more depth and I think it makes more sense for Maggie and Nina to wait instead of being together a few days after they met. Also this is very much a cliffhanger sort of moment and I’m sure crowley and aziraphale’s disagreement is going to be resolved by the end of season 3.
@@danielthemaniel1697 as a queer writer, i've got a question: what would you have done differently? the other options as i see them are: they do NOT explicitly confirm anything and leave it subtextual, thereby leaving the thread open for s3 in a way that really looks more like queerbaiting; OR they get together happily with no complications, and their relationship takes a sudden backseat in a potential season three because there isn't any conflict between them to drive the plot forward. the fact that it's messy is what anchors them & their queerness in the center of the story. while i thought that the whole gabriel/beelzebub thing was funny and sweet, it's really too boring to take up much space due to lack of conflict. as for maggie and nina, even regardless of whether or not they end up together, they're still both very explicitly, and uncomplicatedly, wlw. representing wlw as individuals is just as queer as representing them in relationships, because they're wlw regardless of whether or not they have girlfriends at a given moment.
It is canonly a romantic love in the TV show. Both actors and Neil Gaiman have confirmed that multiple times. They are also kindred spirits and life partners.
