Quiet is kept, but “Charmed” was on a Baywatch level during seasons 2 & 3. And the dresses, err…uniforms on the original Star Trek were even shorter than Menzies. These days those shows in reruns have the “pokies” blurred, unless it’s the unedited versions on a streaming network. I do agree that for the 70’s/80’s Love Boat probably took the crown.

David Gerrold once said that the costumer on the original Star Trek (William Theiss) worked on the principle of "visual suspense" -- Will she or won't she fall out of her costume.
And in the 70s, the ladies didn't fall out of the costume, but got close. /snark

Spelling said he hated the term "Jiggle TV," but I believe it an accurate description of "Charlie's Angels." However, there were some episodes that went beyond that, such as "Caged Angel" where there was a very touching dialogue between Kris and inmate Lonnie. There was also the episode where Kris and Kelly found out they were both seeing the same guy. It upset their friendship and professional relationship, but all was well in the end. "Of Ghosts and Angels" was also a pretty good episode.

Hey you're really funny sometimes. The reason why we have the nearly hardcore pornography that we do is because it started where it started from with the jiggle TV shows. You really think we would be where we are if we maintain the standards that we did prior to the jiggle Television TV shows? Sex and nudity all the time is exploitative without exception to both women and men
When you have anybody getting naked or simulating sex or even prior to that where you just had them braless you can see the nipples through the clothing etc etc and their breasts and asses would jiggle, it was exploitative. Nowadays people have been so accustomed to the exploitation that almost nothing shocks them. The recent scandal with the clothing manufacturer Balenciaga where children were used to hold teddy bears that were all geared up in bondage outfits and where there was a published Supreme Court ruling on CP I'm using abbreviations here in case UA-cam gets a hissy fit) made it legal to have fake CP, clearly indicated the intention of Balenciaga.
Hollywood itself which has since it's Inception had an issue with pedophilia and continues to, is moving towards the direction of I am sure wanting to incorporate naked children because of course children are abused and they're going to want to cover those topics and of course it will be exploited but they will justify it saying that the topic needs to be discussed which is pure garbage. It can be discussed by a discussion it doesn't need to have a TV show where you involve children or a film that involves children. But this is where Hollywood wants to go because eventually they don't want any barriers of any kind. Even before the children of fully integrated into this plan I am sure they're going to want to have actual penetrative sex with their performance so that it is no different from an x-rated film. And in fact it was a court ruling that allowed x-rated films out even before jiggle television. The concept of the slippery slope is real.
The question is can the pendulum swing back at all? If it can't we're doomed but if it does it's still going to be problematical because the shift is going to be so great that it will be violent. It cannot help but be. In any event we are where we are with the television shows that we have on Amazon and Prime and HBO and Showtime and all the other services because it all started with the jiggle showing before that it really started with the idea that X-rated movies in the theater were okay and that hardcore pornography was okay and that even nudity in general was okay. Because before certain time in between the early 1930s when the haze code went into effect and when it was ended in the late 50s or early 60s and nudity was becoming permissible according the courts, it all started to go down then. And now of course we have all the social pills that we do and all of it can be traced to that and to other things such as no more prayer in school and in fact no more prayer and generally in the Public Square except confined to churches and homes and sometimes not even then, well what did anyone really expect to happen. Our society has become coarse and violent because it is Godless. Tick tock tick tock tick tock pendulum is swinging Maybe.

    • @samadams6487

@@thetraveler2561 okay so obviously I was misunderstood too. Yeah, there are quite a few actors and actresses who don't mind being exploited but they don't understand the extent of what it is. I mean if they could be Engineers or physicists, they would be. There are a number of actors and even actresses that have absolutely no problem and will drop their clothes in an instant but these people are either suffering from exhibitionism which of course is in the dm5 manual as a mental disorder and so is narcissism. Others are just so lacking and self-confidence that they are people Pleasers and so they will allow themselves to be exploited. Nudity and sex in film, television or theater is designed to pack the seats and used to sexually excite the audience.. the actors and actresses become masturbatory fodder for them. Clothing represents a form of armor to protect them from that, sometimes from what is referred to as the sexual gaze.
Nudity between a husband and wife serves a very different purpose because there there should be no power differential in an ideal relationship and therefore it represents intimacy but there can be no intimacy between an audience and the actor; there can only be exploitation and of course all the power belongs to the audience as well as the producers, directors and even to an extent the performers unions benefit from the dues of two and a half percent for their salaries and as you know some of those salaries can be exorbitantly high. We can now address the intimacy coordinator.
The existence of the intimacy coordinator is not to protect the performer; it is there to protect the producers and the directors and once again even the performance unions from lawsuits. Their job is to get the actors or actresses naked and Performing the simulated or I suppose in some cases it has been rumored actual sexual acts even though they're not depicted in such a way as to be verified, but in any event to do these things and without any lawsuits coming back on the directors and producers and unions. The intimacy coordinators are most definitely NOT there for the actors and actresses.
Like I said if they were smart enough to be physicists or Engineers or doctors or some other useful profession, then they would be.
