Whoever posted the comment about your situation being a 'sob story' just illustrates the sheer lack of empathy and compassion that person has. If they had listened to the same interview that I did, they will have heard you describe what happened to you as a young lad, and how it sent you into a spiral of trouble with the police, being locked up and the pain and despair that you found yourself in with mental health issues, drug and alcohol problems. It was like a domino effect that has had long-lasting repercussions. Ignore them - that comment said more about them, than it did about you. Thank you again for your honesty. I wish you well. God bless.

Probation hostel manager here, huge advocate of the messages you are both giving re training staff via real life experience & being mentors for others. Think there is a gap & your inspiring and endearing life experiences being shared in this environment, your podcasts are the perfect messages to give out, any chance we could pair up and consider maybe a one off or regular talk (or podcast even)? Hats off to you all, hope we can work together even if only briefly. Thank you for sharing your stories, learnt a lot also. All the best.

Thank you both. I don't feel so alone anymore. I have spent my life feeling worthless, no self esteem, and on a destructive path. I have about 2-3 friends and a dog. But after watching and listening to your story, Shaun, I feel like I can keep going. If you can do it I'm sure I can too. You are an inspiration. I hope you bring out a book soon, I will buy it. I have watched hundreds of Shaun Attwood vids and the Scottish bloke (boring bloke can't remember his name) but this story has rocked me and this has been the most real and honest story ive ever heard. Videos like this is what independent video is all about. Real stories from real people, uncensored. I feel so sorry for shaun and what he went through, really appreciated his honesty from episode 1 and what he went through and was genuinely shocked at some parts, getting shanks ordered will stay with me forever. Samworth as well - you can tell he knows how to listen properly, Shaun Attwood for example is shocking at this (any excuse to say "it was kill on-site for them when I was inside" is a good example)
im going to subscribe now and watch all the other videos....this story has really amazed me thanks you Shaun, the courage to tell us his story will educate thousands and will help countless. bravo.sam keep up the good work and continue to just let your guests do the talking

I find myself in a situation where, following my most recent stroke, there are no physical signs, but it's affected my left frontal lobe which has left me highly emotional, easily overwhelmed and with no filter, so whatever pops into my head just comes out verbally. After warning them of this unseen disability my few good friends of 40+ years have stuck with me. It's been hard to adjust to this new me, but I simply try and view it in as much as I can at least still walk and talk. It's been really hard listening to his story but it's so compelling and though you can hear so much trauma in his voice, he tells it so well and keeps it so real. It brings home the injustice of a system not fit for purpose that let's these traumatised and misjudged people fall through the system. He should have been plucked up and helped so long ago. It would have saved to much sorrow, pain and would have cost the system much less than the court procedures and imprisonment which should never have been metered out. My heart breaks for him. I am praying that he will be granted a happy, safe, prosperous and productive life surrounded by people who will love and supported all the rest of his life. God bless you and thank you for being so frank and honest and for telling your story through the pain and sorrow. Judges and those who take charge of court procedure should be made to hear these peoples stories before they start careers in the justice system. You are making a difference. Wishing you a happy life full of joy, love and peace x

It's great to see that you have turned your life around. Not just turned it around, but you seem to have done a lot of self reflection. You know what triggers you. I hate my routine being changed too, and I know that me and alcohol are not friends!
Also, your point about relying on a prison officer to get you something and they don't do it is understandably, really frustrating. I was a nurse, and if a patient asks you for something you owe it to them to do it. As anybody who has to rely on another person is vulnerable, regardless if it's a patient or a person in a prison. Yes, you may be busy and your shift is busy, but for the person relying on you, they aren't busy, they are waiting........ and waiting. And there's nothing worse than realising, 'shit they've gone home and I'm stuck.'
I remember finishing a long 15 hour shift at 10.45pm, and I was back in at 7am, and got half way home before realising I hadn't done what a patient asked me. So I walked back! I wouldn't have slept anyway if I hadn't.
Good luck for the future Shaun. I will try and take a leaf out of your book, You've got your head screwed on, mine's hanging off !!!

Having watched all 3 of your podcasts with Shaun, I've shed some tears whilst listening to Shaun's story. Big respect to you Shaun and I wish you lots of happiness in your future ✌️🙂
By speaking out about his abuse and the events in his life as a result of what happened to him, I am sure this will help others feel inspired to find the strength to speak out and feel like they are not alone.
You're doing a brilliant job Sam and I'm being educated each day with content from your podcasts and videos 👍🙂

Sam you are allowing these people a platform to show how valuable they are and can be after prison - you genuinely care for these people which is refreshing and humbling. Makes me want to learn more about what happens to these people because they can so easily be left to rot. You need to go out to schools and talk to kids as they would listen to you guys xxxx

I tell you what Shaun mate, it's never to late to box, i know people that are in there 70s that still train everyday and still box in the white collar boxing and well done for doing this man, your brave, my family as some of us that suffer with mental heath, my little cousin hung herself just before Christmas, so i know it's a real thing and if i lived near you i would really help you get to that fight you want, i'm a pro trainer at the min but i've done it all from amateur boxing to pro standard unlicensed to bare knuckle fighting to promoting boxing, it's a shame i live in London, but good luck brother i hope to see that fight one day.
