- Storytime videos are tricky, but quiet quitting is a real thing. I loved being an HR Generalist, but I felt emotionally drained.

You are speaking my language, I’m going thru this now. I’m the Sr HR Generalist for a nonprofit, I gone thru three managers in 3 years, I trained them along with my training coordinator and HR Generalist but yet they don’t want to compensate me accordingly and keep giving the run around. And now the hire ups are in the new managers ear picking at small things that don’t matter. I’m at my wits end and I think I’m getting to the end. I use to love my job but now I feel unsupported by management. I never been fired before but I’m at the point of do I get fired for falling back from working as hard as I do or just step aside and let them have their department back…
I can relate 😢I am exactly in the same situation
THIS!!!!! This is soo relatable. Know your worth, even if they don’t appreciate your worth 👏🏼
🙌🏾💜💜💜
Yes. We need more storytimes....The nerve of the manager that suggested for you to interview and then turn around and voted no. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️.
Chile don't get me started on her...lol! I appreciate her showing me her real colors. Those intimate conversations stopped immediately. I appreciate realness and transparency, not that. lol!
Yup, they just wanted more people applying to make the corrupt process look as if it was transparent - and to be backstabbing corporate hags.
I myself also quite quiet in a job before. At that time it wasn't considered quiet quitting. I remember I was so tired that I could not even apply for another job, so what I did was apply for a jobs while I was on my lunch break. The company that i resigned from ended up hiring an individual who had zero experience people who worked in the company applied for the position and they did not give it to anybody. I find it very weird that companies do this, but I truly believe they will pay the outside person less money, then the person who was already in the company trying to move up the ladder.
Not much at all...at least not from one year to the next. Here are the 2023 updates and changes: ua-cam.com/video/JMlEr8lMptI/v-deo.html
Heyyy HR! /Timeka Its Dee Dee from yesterday. Oh, that's what it's called "Quiet Quitting" LOL. Gosh two for one...I get it. These employers want more but not all are willing to compensate. I recall being so unhappy in a position and decided to bring a box to work and packed up my desk. The Director (mean-spirited and condescending) was looking like where she's going... I actually got a promotion like 4 weeks later into a different department (IT) and learned the manager (the Director's puppet) tried to block me but God! Years later, a new Director came into the area; it was my old Director. How about this lady called me into her office and basically apologized for her behavior and gave me a raise. Thank you again for the dynamic experience on yesterday. People invest in yourself Timeka knows her stuff. Blessings to all
See how God will bless you with just a little faith. It takes believing in ourselves first! Crazy how that turned around. I really enjoyed your client call yesterday and am so happy you found value in it. 💜
Love the story time! My director would never come into work, and I would have to pick up her slack. I too, moved all of my stuff out of my office before I left the company. After I left, I heard they hired a new director to replace my former boss while she was on a leave so they could find a legal way to fire her. I know she is no longer with the company, but you've known that she wasn't doing her job and you let her stay. They have asked multiple times if I want to come back, no thank you but thank you for thinking of me.
They termed her while on leave? Definitely not a legal way, but if she doesn’t respond then it worked out. 🤷🏽♀️ lol
Yes! It’s not a comfortable idea of going back 😬
This story resonated with me so much because its basically what's going on at my job. Manager just emails me to do things that they should be doing. Talking down to other employees, constant berating and this degree of superiority over everyone on the team when it comes to us trying to teach us stuff
So annoying, right?!?! Are you still working there?
@@HeyyyHRyes but I accepted a job elsewhere. Start there in 3 weeks. Notice being given in a week 💪🏿
@@rikadew CONGRATS!!!!!!🎊🎉🎉🙌🏾
@@HeyyyHR thank you so much!!!!! Channels like yours have been helping me to cope. Now it doesn't bother me 🤷🏿♀️
@@rikadew you’re so welcome! 💜💜
I think it's important to know people eventually get tired or burnt out. Thanks for sharing!
You're so welcome ....💜
Heyyy HR heyyy! Loved the video! I’m currently going through something similar and put my two weeks in last week. Sometimes, you feel like you’re the only one going through dealing with passive aggressive behavior from a boss. If I told you my story, you’d be like girl what???!!
Girl, I gave the lite version of ONE of the times I experienced micro aggressions. Smh… that’s why hitting on those culture questions in the interview is sooo important. 🙌🏾
... Thank you! This video hit home big time; no compensation multiple job position duties. Unbelievable! I enjoyed this Soo much. How do I indicate correctly in a resume the multiple assignments of different position responsibilities under one official job title. It's time.👍💜
You can use the words from the Job posting if you've actually done those duties. I don't ever think that puts you in the right position, so I suggest showing a transformation in your skills. I go line by line with this in my resume reviews. Here's the link to get one: hello.dubsado.com/public/form/view/638fe3cd4c44e67ff49ba0d6
Yes! More story times! ❤
Omg! Ok! I’m so happy you enjoyed it! 💜💜
You are very smart and capable. They didn’t deserve you 😊
And girl you are so pretty!!
Thank you!!! 💜💜💜
I love your story time! Keep it going
💜💜💜
I love this story time. The story is very familiar.
💜💜💜
I love story time videos!! This kinda reminds me of when you did the day in the life vlogs
Ikr!!! Lol I should do more of those too but my days are so busy that I keep forgetting to record! 😩🤣 That’s a different type of recording too
@@HeyyyHR Yeah I get that! My days fly by. Most of the time I start work and by the time I look up and it’s already afternoon.
@@Demahevans that’s a good thing tho! Lol
I’m a little late for the party, but gurl!!! Yes, we definitely need more storytimes!!! I got flashbacks hearing your story!!
Uh oh, I think you’re right on time. Next story time coming out today at 12pm EST. Subscribe & set your alerts 😉💜💜
Great story!
Sucks that it was actually real life 🥴💜
I love the storytime!
You did??? I'm going to have to think of more!!! Sharing my life online is still so knew for me...
I love these story times. I’ll just have to catch them before you make them private lol! I’m definitely quiet quitting, I’ve been burnt out for a while and I’m choosing to take it easy. Everyday. Lol
The plan is to be careful enough that they don’t go private! 🤣🤣🤣 let’s keep our fingers crossed. 🤞🏽 So happy you enjoyed it. I definitely feel for you! Hang in there!
I vote yes for more story times!
☺️💜☺️💜☺️
I found this video quite interesting. I would like you to continue sharing your personal stories. Happy New Year!
Thank you! Happy New Year to you too! 💜💜💜
Yes more stories
Heyyyy Cardell! Consider it done! 💜💜
You should also do a video on learning and Development specialist, and even the People and Culture Specialist role in HR.
😂I too bit by bit moved my stuff out f my office while I was interviewing for other positions. I started looking because I was underpaid & I knew I’d never get paid what I was worth. When I experienced another director going behind my back when I was home sick & my CEO not having my back - that was it! I couldn’t even take one vacation without having to work because he never hired enough staff.
So I was preaching to the choir bc that sounds like familiar territory… 🙌🏾😬
Love this!! I once quietly quit!
Sometimes they push us there without us even noticing! lol
Loved it❤
☺️💜☺️💜☺️
This is great!
💜💜💜
Timeka, some of the most trifling people work in HR at the corporate level. You definitely are not alone in having experienced the mess.
Ahhhh.... I'm so happy to hear that I'm not alone. smh
@@HeyyyHR It's all too common. I have been working remotely for a while now, and it is a bit better - one degree of separation from office politics. I always say that HR is kind of like law enforcement - you get some people who go into it to be of service, and some who are on power trips. The visibility of the leadershp positions and the company wanting charismatic individuals to occupy them, in order to attract talent ot the organization, tends to attract certain personalities - not all of them are benevolent.
@@jenniferliggett6385 So true. That's why I go sooo hard on culture-related questions during interviews. It's a mutual agreement and you ain't gone stress me out on a new job!
I love this video. I'm in the midst of QQ now. If you find another job on STD how do you quit properly.
Thank you! 💜💜💜 Give a two week notice (or whatever notice your org requires) like you would any other time.
How did you answer the interview question why you quit?
I told them that wanted to pursue other opportunities in an effort to take my career to the next level.
Employee: Tamika I went to the director and she said we can't do the thing you done for me before.
Tamika: O ok, then we can't
ROFL, you should be a comedian, Imma use that line.
It is what is 😉🤣
I think I knew the concept but I never did a quiet quit. I just work harder and gave proper notice and let people miss me afterwards. The hard work is noticed by my Lord and Savior. I understand feeling bad when you are not treated fairly though.
Ive done that too. I’m just happy it was all worth it🙌🏾💜
❤storytime
💜💜💜
How can I see the other story time
ua-cam.com/video/pHFHvj1II5k/v-deo.html
Liked it.
Thank you! It’s a different Vibe for me so I’m happy you like it. 💜💜
I have to call BS on the term "Quiet Quitting". It's weaponized and a negative. When we do it, it's "quiet quitting" but when leadership dies it, it's "looking for a better work-life balance". Not cool. Very much enjoy story time format :)
Definitely a double standard, but I’m Happy you enjoyed it! 💜💜
I am about to quiet quit today
🥹🙌🏾💜
Yes….I’m there ok
Some times it’s forced on us. 😔
Sounds like manufacturing HR
No, I’ll never touch manufacturing HR even if that was the only job available… never have & never will
Yoooh,I am in Manufacturing and hate working up every day
Lmao is majority of people in HR geminis! 😂 im a Gemini..my one job had a bunch of us.. must be our “multiple personalities” to wear many hats…
I feel like it should be a job requirement bc lawwwd it requires multiple personalities 🤣🤣
An HR Generalist AND a recruiter?!!!!!! Noooo sis!
Chillle never again! Then the fired the HR Director, so I did her role too at the same pay. 🙄 I know better now. lol
