Peter, same. First movie I shared with my now husband was "Margaret's Museum". He probably should have ran away lol
Ugh.,.I had to watch The White Ribbon twice…lol. The first time, it was filled with a rather elder demographic and this portly fellow had his cell on an extra loud ring and when he picked up he shouts into the phone like he’s at home on a Sunday morning. He’s asked to leave many times but he refuses to leave. So we get up and walk out. The movie was only half over a d they gave us passes to come back later. That’s a dark and heavy film, so to go back to finish it a week later was tough…lol. I can still hear that guy in my dreams. Like from a bad Billy Wilder film.

Wow. Some hot garbage in there between The Night Porter and The Piano Teacher. Not a fan of Belle du Jour either. What a disappointing series of picks from two actors I really admire.
Portrait of Lady on Fire, La Cienaga, Waiting for Guffman, The Kid and Broadcast News are all hot garbage? WTF you're either insane or your metric for garbage is way too relaxed.

Just saying "that's some hot garbage" is a nothing comment. It's almost like you didn't say anything at all. Provide some reasoning. It's interesting how you admire Peter and Jessica so much yet none of them have made a film that is as good as La Ciénaga or any of the films Franco listed.
