- Hey Everyone!
Just wanted to share my personal experience with applying and getting hired for a part time seasonal position at Bath and Body Works. The process for my store was very quick and easy, but keep in mind other stores my not be the same. Just remember to check in if it's been a week or so after you've applied to see if they've started the seasonal onboarding at your store!
Thanks for watching!!!

Awww you're so cute explaining everything and helping other people not be so nervous. I just got hired yesterday and was nervous about the selling a product at the interview (I saw another video who said that was her experience) you do seem super personable and would be helpful and good at your job. Thanks for the tip about the cheat about the notes that are under the candles, never realized that. Have a nice day!
Ahhhh I have my interview on Tuesday and then would b my first job interview on very nervous so I’m so glad I found this!!
You'll do great! With it being your first job interview (if you don't have any retail or cashier experience) just let them know you're friendly and personable, you like to keep busy (think stocking shelves and organizing products), and you are willing to learn! You got this!
Did you get the job
This was so helpful. Thank you!
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful!
I needed this!!! I have my interview today
Good luck on your interview!!
How much they are paying per hour ?
Most stores start out at $12-13/hr but some places are higher depending on your state’s minimum wage
I’m so happy I found this video..I have my interview on Monday and I was so nervous
Good luck!! 🍀 I’m sure you’ll do amazing at your interview!
Did u get the job
I loved this video!! So good!!!
Thank you! Glad you liked it!!
def needed this, I have an interview tmmmmm ughhh
Good luck on your interview!!! Some of the new winter scents are getting ready to come out so earn some bonus points with them by letting them know you're excited for the upcoming winter launch with Winter Candy Apple and Vanilla Bean Noel!
@@amandadotcom thank you , I got the call today saying I got the job 🙏🏼🧿!
Yaaaassss so happy for you!!!
I start my first day getting trained on the floor tomorrow and The only thing I’m worried about is the cash register I suck at math lmaoo
The register tells you what change to give the customer! You got this!
SAME, IM 16 AND SO SCARED. I keep trying to avoid jobs with cashier but all of them have it ughhh
it’s actually really easy
@@divine5752Trust me, It's really easy, I use to be so scared of cashier jobs.
I applied a week ago did a group interview on Wednesday so I think they do that all around not because of covid I am pretty sure 😊
I appreciate the update!! My store has only been doing one on ones so that just must be my manager’s preference. I’ll let others know to expect either one! Thanks again!
I had to do a group interview
And i hated it 😭
Can you show an example of your resume please:)
I used a basic resume template from Google Docs called Spearmint!
I didn’t include the subheader line that says “industrial designer” as my current day job doesn’t really relate to a retail/sales associate position. If I were working a retail job currently or had a management position I would have put that there. Ex: Retail Assistant Manager, Lead Cashier, etc.
As for awards at the bottom, I switched that section on mine to my references. Again, if you work retail or sales and have earned awards for meeting sales goals, customer services goals, etc I would include that there and just put 2-3 references after that!
I have an interview tomorrow
Good luck on your interview today!! 🍀
almost applied at buckle and found out the employees salary is commission based so that’s why they’re SO pushy when they try to get you to purchase clothes
I remember applying for Buckle and even had an interview with them. And found that out during my interview. Didn’t get hired though.
Hey I had an interview today and I start Wednesday💕
Congrats!!! Things are gonna start getting really busy in the next few weeks as they just mailed out more coupons and all the “try it to believe it” sales (most of them will be the lowest prices for the season so people will go crazy!) I was doing circles last weekend with the $5.95 single wick candle sale!
@@amandadotcom thank you and yes she told me,but I think I’m ready I’m eager to start
Great informative video ! Also how long is the on boarding ? I have to go this Thursday for that
I have to go this Friday And I’m nervous
I have a job interview tomorrow and idk what to say I'm so nervous
Just be yourself! If they ask the “tell me about yourself” question just give them a quick little intro about yourself. Like if you’re in school and what you’re studying, if you just moved to town, if your a mom, etc. I opened with how I work in the back office department of a local bank and enjoy going to concerts and binge watching true crime shows in my free time.
@@amandadotcom She was so rude, she said we have a policy if dressing up nice she was looking at me up and down bad also if we don't call you by Wednesday or get an email from us we're looking for other candidates that will fit the right position
Would this be a good first job ??;; I'm strongly considering a summer job and this is one of the places I'm thinking about.
I am also worried about the smells (this sounds funny, but I'm headache prone and worry about triggers and such) and wonder if it's ever gotten too much for you? And if it's possible to have more breaks than the breaks you're given if, say, you aren't doing too well.
Has the job ever been super overwhelming? And! What should we expect during an interview- like specific questions? (I'm so sorry if you already went through this and I just missed it!)
I think being a cashier at the store would be a great first job (just keep in mind you need to be 18+ to work at bath and body). The scents haven’t given me any migraines/headaches but up until this week we were still wearing masks so I think that helped. My store isn’t super overwhelming as it’s a smaller store, holiday times are busy but it helps time go by faster. Shifts at my store are typically 3-5hrs for me so we are permitted one 15 min break. If you needed more than one on a more frequent basis, I would bring a drs note stating why.
My interview is tmr omg I’m so nervous
Good luck on your interview today!! 🍀🍀🍀
Hi !! I'm Melanie and I just came across this video because I've been considering changing jobs from a retail to bath and body works, but rn it would be considered seasonal. Do you think that (now since it's been a month that you've worked there and there might be people who will def stay) if you had the chance and would like to stay after the season is over, they'll let you? Or will they tell you you gotta go? Because I'm tired of working where I'm at and the Bbw closest to me is desperately hiring for the season as well. I just want to know if I should leave now or wait till January. 😩 I Def wanna switch
Hi Melanie! At my store I feel like they would keep me, but on an as needed basis. They have a couple of people who are backups or only work once every couple of weeks to keep themselves on the roster/active for the employee discount. I would love to continue to work there after seasonal but it would just be for extra money here and there (as my pay will also drop down $1 after Christmas to $11/hr which is my store’s base pay where I live) so just keep that in mind if you’re trying to budget out your pay ahead of time.
I know some of the girls working have already expressed they’re only there for the holiday season ( they have other jobs) so there’s not going to be a lot of competition if the managers had to choose just a couple people. If you’re applying to a larger store there may be more opportunities to stay on after seasonal! You can always bring that up in your interview as well when they ask if you have any questions! Say something along the lines of “what is the probability that I could stay on as a regular associate after the season rather than just being seasonal? I have an interest in being at the store after the season ends.”
I did seasonal as well but they barely give me shifts
I'm sorry to hear that! :( I was worried about hours after being scheduled about 15hrs total my first 2 weeks, but I'm up to about 12hr a week now. Not a lot, but it does help pay some of my smaller expenses. My store is getting about 40 seasonal people total and there's about 10-15 that work there as regulars, so it's going to get interesting as it gets closer to Black Friday as to how many shifts I actually get being a small store in a mall!
@@amandadotcom make sense now wow
@@amandadotcom it’s okay I will pick up some shifts then the app for Shyft I can’t see my shift I been stress out
They usually don’t give any shifts in September or October but they really pick up during November and december (it honestly gets exhausting so enjoy this time while u can lol)
@@mikoletea thank you 😊
Heyy, can I wear regular/casual clothes to the interview?
I would say jeans and a basic colored tshirt would be as casual as I’d go. I would not recommend leggings, biker shorts, or denim shorts for the interview though.
Today is my interview and its my first interview ever im so nervos like omg. Do you not work weekends?
Hi! I have my interview on Wednesday! Did you wear formal attire or what exactly?
I wore flats, dress pants, a blue and white striped shirt (knowing blue, white, and gingham is the store color theme) with a thin white cardigan on top. I got both my shirt and cardigan from Old Navy and pants from target so it wasn’t anything super formal or expensive!
@@amandadotcom thank you!!!
Which state u live?
All I have to say is DONT work here if you arnt a social person because they push and push and push you to talk a person like 3 different times while they’re in the store
😬😬 I’m sorry you had that experience. My store must be pretty laid back as we greet people/offer assistance and only check back once if they’ve roaming the store for 10+mins. Which is good for me as I have social anxiety and pestering people would trigger my RSD. My store also isn’t assigned sales quotas per associate, just an over all hourly and daily goals so that may be a difference as well.
I'm not trying to be mean, but I have my volume all the way up and can barely hear you. I found this helpful, but maybe speak up a bit 😊
you probably need headphones lol
