AMAZING VIDEO! Thanks so much for putting together such an informative video! I know a lot of viewers pass up long videos……. This one passed by in a flash! This is a very intricate machine AND you made every second count!!!! I’m sure that I will watch it several more times. Now I’m ready for the second part of this video…..
These day's with a good old teacher are gone. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, it must be great to be retird. ANd if u have kid's they must be very proud of u, with the knowledge u have.
I've been loading on a single stage for years and decided to go with a Lee Loadmaster. Got the press only since I had so many parts already and spent the morning puttin it on the bench while playing your video. You sir, are a lifesaver! With your video I got everything installed without much hassle or complication at all. Can't thank you enough for a great instructional video.
Awesome video GREAT TEACHER I almost gave up on watching videos everybody skips in the most important parts. You are the BEST I am ready to do this. Thank You Very Much. Have a great day.
Just wanted to thank you very much for this video. Now I understand a lot about the Lee loadmaster which I just received, the best thing was your process in installing the case feeder assembly. I had tried for 2 days to get that thing adjusted oh, watch the two other videos that were of no help, but in 10 minutes of watching your installation process and I was done and successful. I know it's four years later but it seems like the same issues continue with the loadmaster. Again thank you very much!
Sir that was the absolute best video on utube I am thanking of buying a reloading system and wasn't sure with one to get but you just sold another Lee press I love this system. I was also worried about getting started until i watched your videos you gave excellent instructions. Agen thank you sir and God bless.
Outstanding, such a great teacher, he took his time, and he did not rush through anything, he thoroughly explained each step of using the Lee Load Master. Thank you, sir for sharing your knowledge, your video is one of the best.
CA is enacting draconian ammo laws at the first of the year. Enough is enough. I watched your two videos on the Lee Loadmaster, bought the press, dies and the rest of the equipment, watched the videos three more times and have just returned from the range where I shot my first 100 handloaded 9mm. Many thanks to you, Captain, and I wish you and yours a very merry Christmas and all the best in the coming year.
You Sr. have made and exceptional review ! And thank you for that. Probably I will purchase a Lee Load Master Press, because now I lost my fears about this press.
This is the best video explaining the operation of a progressive reloading press that I have seen. It is completely necessary for anyone contemplating progressive reloading to understand the operation of their press at this level of detail.
You should be Payed By Lee for these video's. My press came with no instruction manual, which really bothered me. Because of that and not set up with a 223 die set I decided that I would check the press with 45 ACP set up instead see'in how it was me to blow up and no one else. Boy oh Boy and Holy ....!! You have been plastered on my computer for 2 days. Thank You so much
just bought a used LoadMaster press and watched GunBlue's videos to set it all up and adjust everything.. ready to go, except for primers.. :-) Thank you for the great video's !!
I've been relaoding for 40 years and am now looking over all the new technology. Loadmaster seems to be as good as any. I'm into CAS and need to maximize volume. Great suggestion to use separate decapping die. Lubrication details and overall details with clear explanations and camera work is outstanding. Great for beginners and veterans. Most people don't realize this kind of detaled maintenance is necessary, and get ticked off at the machine and manufacturer.
You are so gifted in how you explain every step to reloading in detail. I am very interested in reloading and before I make a final purchase of equipment finding you has been a wonderful experience to learn the intricate details one must know to make a decision before making the purchase. Thank you so much for making these video's. You are by far the best instructor I've found on U Tube. God Bless!
I just bought one of these presses. I have been reloading for years on a single stage, but this is my first progressive press. Your video was invaluable. I was able to quickly set it up and understand its little quirks. If I had only had the directions from Lee, I would have been totally lost. Thank you for sharing your practical wisdom. I love all your videos.
Great video, I just got mine Loadmaster and your videos are a lifesaver! Very detailed without extra comments and are straight to the point. Thank you!
Thank you for such a clear, focused, well-presented video. The quality of the video and explanations were fantastic. I have yet to get a press, this video shows me everything I needed to know, without waffling on or deafening me with music. I wish more videos followed your top-notch presentation.
Thanks for taking the time to put these videos together. I just bought a loadmaster and the reloading discord recommended your videos to me. I'll be back to check out more of your videos.
AWESOME VIDEO AND INSTRUCTOR!! You are by far the best in my experience. After 42 years in Naval Aviation... as a flyer and maintenance guy …. YOU are the instructor we were always looking for... and I know you most likely do your own research, course development, preparation etc etc. Bravo Zulu for the best video I've seen on this press yet. My 9MM version is rapidly being transferred from card board boxes to the loading bench... and thanks to this video... I believe that process will go along very smooth... and Thank You again for all you do.
The best loadmaster teaching video by far. I am trying to get into reloading and wasted a lot of time searching through UA-cam. I picked up some bits and pieces from lots of videos together with lots of confusion. I liked this video so much that I had to leave a comment to praise it.
Thank you for your time and effort, You have taught me a lot. Very clear and detailed. It is nice to be taught from someone who has used the reloader not someone setting it up their first time.
Thank you for your video. I just got my Lee Loadmaster and now I think I am ready to start putting it together with out pulling what's left of my hair out. Thanks again
Wow! These two videos are invaluable!!! I would have been so lost with my kit if not for these. I watched them both a couple times before my kit arrived and then set it up watching this and it couldn't have been easier! THANK YOU!!!
I'd like to add my thank you to all the others here. Even though I've had a Loadmaster in the past, your instructions were so clear and to the point and a great help to me. Your video makes up for the poor instructions/pictures included with the press. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you. Hope you are still shooting and reloading.
Thank you sir for a very well done video. Just bought a Loadmaster and this was very helpfull indeed. A very thorough explanation which even I understood .Looking forward to view the next part. Have a nice day. cheers
I haven't used my Loadmaster very much, so when I pulled it out of storage to load 357 mag I decided to watch your video again. I followed your suggestions/procedures to the tee. What a great video. I love your calm demeanor. So I loaded over 300 with hardly a hitch. I have learned to watch very closely that I still have primers in the feeder, that the decapper pin hasn't been pushed up indicating a shell has gotten through with the primer still in place, and that the incoming shell is right side up. I did not have one, not one, primer issue! The only thing I didn't follow you on was lubricating the shells. I don't lube 9mm, but I find lubing the 357 to be very helpful. I just spray a little lube into a large freezer baggy, add the shells, and then roll them around. Takes less than 3 minutes. Thank you very much for your video.
Ken Cammenga Never lube cases with carbide dies. Carbide requires no lube, and will build up a mess under the carbide ring and transfer it to the shell plate. Non carbide dies always must be lubed.
I just got my Lee Loadmaster and have been struggling to get it set up. The instructions that came with it are vague and indirect and other videos make assumptions about what the user already know OR it goes into such minute detail that is is equally as useless, UNTIL NOW, GREAT JOB! Great video. I’m anxious to go onto the next one but wanted to give you some thanks first.
Thank you sir for this video series. I've been of the fence buying a progressive press until now and I'm sold on it...Lee Load-Master will be in my loading room right next to my single stage presses soon.
Thank you. I bought one of these used 5 years ago. I have never been able to make it run smoothly. I followed your advice, and found the shell plate I was using was binding. I now have a smooth cycling press. Thank you.
GunBlue490 I was amazed at how smooth your Loadmaster was when you brought your lever into contact with the indexer and pushed it in. Mine was always more along the lines of needing a bit of a hit. After watching this I searched out a pointed whetstone that I had bought some months back from Dan's Whetstone. Looking at the shaft of the indexer there was obvious scoring so I've just worked the shaft and the channel over and boy were there some nasty burrs. I've now got it all cleaned up and it sure is working a whole lot smoother. Thanks again for the education my brother (my older brother is a '49er and a retired teacher. Whodathunk?).
Thank you for the excellent video showing the way you configure the Lee LoadMaster press. I've been running mine since 1993 and managed to learn some useful tips.
Awesome video, thanks for posting this. You explained everything so clearly it's the ONLY video that's ever kept my attention for an hour and I don't even have a Load-Master! I have the classic 4 turret press but a lot of the tips can be used on it too. Great teacher!!!!
I have seen many videos on this press ,and I want to tell you that this is the most informitive one that I have seen , excellent job ....I wished a 1000 times That I woukld have bought this press instead of that POS PRO1000 that I got , Im fixing to put it up for sale and get this Press, Im am very mechanical inclined, and actually have worked in manufacturing maintenance working with PLL machines.... and I worked and worked on that Pro1000 till I was ready to take a sledge hammer to it and could never get it to work , between this Video and all the videos for tricks and mods for the Loadmaster that are out there, This video has inclined me to go ahead and Order on , Thank you Sir for a great video, My hats off to you , Im sold Thanks
I have watched tons of videos on setting up the Loadmaster including the ones on the Lee site and have seen all manner of suggestions for improving the press and I have to say your video was probably the most clear and to the point that I have seen. I have a love hate relationship with my Loadmaster. It does a great job on 45 acp, a good job on 38 special, and drives me to drink with 9mm. I threw away the chain and replaced it with a spring connected to the frame. Even Lee has some powder dispensers with springs. Thanks for a great video, I will now go see part 2. Keep on keeping on.
Can't agree more with Ruben very very informative great with the details never got away from whens hows and whys most videos get off point or too technical thanks for keeping it simple for a novice like me.
I know this is a year later but... Sir, this was an incredible explanation of this press set up! Just what I needed to see to confirm my suspicions of complaints. I load on a T7 turret ( which has been great for me) but have recently started up with 45acp and have been looking into a progressive set that was realistically affordable, so thank you! I'm also very thankful that Highboy 76 told me to definitely check you out.
Hello from France A great video I buying recently Lee master and I was very inquiring to set up this machine But your video is amazing No frustration no Prozac (😂) now thanks to you Good bless you! From Paris with love! Best regards
Well done, great job in explaining the set up. I have one on order. There's a lot of posts that really bash this press hard. Like anything if done right it makes it a lot better. I will save this post so when mine get here I can review and set mine up the right way. I was thinking I had made a bad mistake by ordering this press, now I feel a lot better.
This is funny. I'm here watching guides for reloading, while I dont have a gun yet. In a side note though. I have been planning get me some later on and Imma save up for a press just to reload. It looks relaxing.
Very good tutorial. I saw poor reviews of the Lee progressive press but after watching this maybe folks don't get it set up properly. Watching this renewed my interest. I was looking at Dillon presses at the gun shop today and they start at twice the price of the Lee which kinda dampens my interest. For that kind of money I'd stick with my turret press. I agree with Jason, maybe Lee should buy this tutorial from you.
I really like using the moly lube you use to put ar15's together with. It seems to work very well and it embeds moly into the metal. Thanks for suggesting the decanting die. I was going to use my quick trim die to align the primer station but your suggestion is better!
I'm just getting into reloading. I presently have the Lee Challenger Lock and Load but just setting up a bench and haven't started reloading. Was thinKing of getting the Load Master latter on after I learn more. I was planning to use the single stage for mi 762X51 Nato (M14) and the Load Master for my .45' ACP's Best tutorial I have seen yet on the Load Master. On to part 2!
Amazing video. So much better than the TITAN series. I had to smile at your comment acknowledging the design of the web function with the index rod: "slick". Agree. THANK YOU !
wow what an excellent video, thanks for taking the time to do this!!! found one of these at an antique store in great shape. pais $40. this video got me going
GunBlue490 What a great video. I was having problems with my Lee loader, but after watching your video I total understand what's what! Lee should pay you as the instruction you get with the loader are rubbish! Compared to your video. Thank you! From me from Down Under. (Australia)
I watched countless videos on the Loadmast. After this video, which is awesome, I went for it. Started setting up trying to follow your tips. Unfortunately my luck was not like your. It won't index. Tried adjusting the carrier alignment and tried the flipper adjustments for literally a couple hours going back and forth between the two. Best I could get was indexing 2-3 times then locking up solid. Anyone want to buy an unused press?
Outstanding video, Very well presented and professionally articulated information, I was trying to convince myself not to buy the Loadmaster, But now I'm convinced i want one, AND i can get one of these to operate correctly based on this video I have used a 4 hole turret for many years and 10's of thousands of rounds, in many calibers I have had very good results with it, this would be the next step for me, I loved the conversation on the oil can in the comments below ....funny..... those ball fittings were common on lathes and other machinery in years past :-) Great instruction video !!!
Excellent presentation. Vibration during sizing is one of the main reasons that primers get tipped or off-center. Using a little alcohol+lanolin lube on pistol cases reduces the shock of sizing. Even with carbide, there can be some binding.
Thanks you! 1 hour invested and my press is running well again. I didn't know about lubrication of most of the areas that you pointed out. I always thought grease and oil were the enemy.
These machines require a balance of lubrication to keep them running, but without attracting fouling and powder. It's generally good to clean it up and lube every so often as need dictates. Experience will guide you.
I cannot thank you enough for this 2 part video and the one on the 223 reloading. I just picked up my first press and it happens to be the Load-master! Because it is used, I decided to pull it apart (100%) and reassemble while using this video to oil properly and make the adjustments to the basic items as I have 3 die sets on order. 2 questions: 1 - Do you have any experience or videos on the Micro Adjust powder feed? 2 - Any comments of videos on the Auto bullet feeder? Once again, Thank You for this great video!!
I've been using a Rock Chucker for years for .223 .308 and .257 Weatherby. Yes it takes forever. Been wanting a progressive press for the 9mm .223 and 300BLK but always kind of intimidated. Now I'm not. Thanks. You are doing a great job explaining. Much better than Lee ever could. They should pay you or at least give you some free stuff!
+Jason Boudreaux I've been on the fence for a while too. Looked at LEE Turret (can be upgraded to Pro 1K). The LEE Pro in a caliber kit is actually cheaper (or the same)! But the LoadMaster is the best value with 5(4) instead of 3 holes for +$60.
+Bert Payne The LoadMaster is an entirely different machine compared to the others, and is more than just another hole. It's a very robust machine that will crank out quality ammo with the best of them, and with the best dies in the world.
Yes I do that because I watched "GunBlue's Guide for the Lee Precision Load-Master ~ PART 1" video. Great info. Everything is clean and properly lubed. The indexing rod is pretty floppy in the shaft it rides in. Is it supposed to be real loose and sloppy? As you suggested, I am going to screw the rod holding fitting in one more full turn and see what happens. I am trying to put a few more videos on UA-cam but I am having a hell of a time getting them from my phone to my computer. These gadgets are always screwing up. Even my geek wife cannot do it. Trying again tomorrow.
@gunblue490 thank you so much I have been reloading on my loadmasters for years now, got 2 secondhand loadmasters and they just a nightmare and this video helped me remember the tricks on timing but need to get new priming systems for the 2!
Thank you for this video series! I am on the fence between this or a Dillon, This unit was intimidating to me and seems like a Rube Goldberg but after adjusted it seems to crank out the bullets. Still trying to decide!
Thank you very much for such a thorough setup tutorial. This should be required viewing for all Loadmaster owner. My Loadmaster will be here later this coming week and I need to ask a question: considering all the moving parts and need for periodic adjustments, how much space on the bench is needed on the right side of the press (from operator position)?
I am in decision mode on turret or progressive. I loved your step by step. Question how much trouble to switch from colt 45 long to say 38 special or say 9m. My friend is saying just do the turret because I don't shoot that much. But looking at money spent for either they are damn close in price. Also, can the progressive be used as a single loader like the Turret loader? Granted progressive you have to buy a top plate and bottom plates and that adds cost to the progressive press. Your response I am truly looking forward to. Thank you in advance.
Excellent video, I had a two questions. 1. the last die - "post sizing die" - is that the same a factory crimp? 2. For 223, I was going use Decap die + resize die (without center decap pin removed as you video) at the primer station but then LEE told me that if you were going to use a sizing die for station. The decapping rod need's to be installed with the decapping pin grinded off to hold the neck of the 223 brass. Lee suggested to use their quick trim die in the primer install station instead of a sizer with the decapping rod. Again thanks for the great videos on how to use and set up the Load Master !!!!!
Yes, the post sizing die is the pistol factory crimp die. The rifle factory crimp die does not perform a second "post" sizing, but only crimps the neck. My comments concerning the dies for stations 1 and 2 concerned straight wall pistol cases, and cannot be followed with bottle necked cases, as stated by Lee. Their recommendation for using the trim die is a good one that I may try, though I've loaded thousands of 223 with no die in station #2 thusfar. However, it would certainly reduce or eliminate the occasional tipped primer caused by misalignment. The most important thing to watch for is loosening or wobbling of the shell plate that causes the primer pocket to tilt.
I have a new in box older model, and going from a lee single stage to this its just tiring. Watching this now i know i need to go take that machine down to bare bones and lube everything and inspect. Great video!
I don't think anyone at Lee could have explained this any better. Thanks for all your hard work in these videos..
Hands down the GOAT of press setup vids. Plus I wish this guy was my grandpa.
Lee should pay you for your videos, you may have just talked me out of a Hornady. Such a great teacher and well educated.
AMAZING VIDEO!
Thanks so much for putting together such an informative video! I know a lot of viewers pass up long videos……. This one passed by in a flash! This is a very intricate machine AND you made every second count!!!! I’m sure that I will watch it several more times.

Don't own a press thinking of buying one you sir are a hero for taking the time to make this video thank you!!!!

Absolutely the best BEST video I've seen yet on setting up this press... Very nicely detailed sir!
Awesome video GREAT TEACHER I almost gave up on watching videos everybody skips in the most important parts. You are the BEST I am ready to do this. Thank You Very Much. Have a great day.
You're welcome.
GunBlue Lee needs to put you on payroll, these videos are a necessity for anything that purchases a loadmaster.

Thank you.

just bought a used LoadMaster press and watched GunBlue's videos to set it all up and adjust everything.. ready to go, except for primers.. :-) Thank you for the great video's !!
Thank you soo much, I inherited a Loadmaster but no paperwork, and this has helped tremendously.
Fantastic.I had given up trying to get my Loadmaster to work. Followed your video and now it works perfectly. Thanks a bunch.
I have watched a bunch of video's on the LoadMaster set up. This is hands down ,The Best I've seen.Thank's to You I'm ready to rock and roll!

A friend gave me his Lee Load-Master, without instructions. This is exactly what I need to get started. Thanks!
Excellent video. With replays, it took me about 2 1/2 hrs. to get everything in tune. Thank you!

Not even Mr. Lee himself could have it explained better than you!
I thought he was Mr. Lee! :-)
Is this NOT Richard Lee? Lol Gunblue490 is a great instructor!

My advice has no time stamp and I am glad to hear that it was helpful.
Hello from France
A great video I buying recently Lee master and I was very inquiring to set up this machine
But your video is amazing
No frustration no Prozac (😂) now thanks to you
Good bless you!
From Paris with love!
Best regards
Thank you and God bless! I recently returned from Lourdes and had a wonderful time in France.
i do big batches every winter and always forget the finer points of set up. thank you for your perfect instructions to my perenial madness
Ruben Horta said it! Great video. Just bought my Load master, and I can't wait to get started. Thank you for your video.
Awesome video! I just ordered one of these, thanks for breaking it all down, best video I've seen!
Thank you, I think I need to upgrade from the classic to the Load-Master... God bless you as well.
Absolutely stellar explanation and may have just convinced me to go with this unit. Thank you!
Wow, incredible video. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
Great presentation! I finally have the knowledge and confidence to take my Lee Loader out of the box and get some use out of it!
GunBlue490 What a great video. I was having problems with my Lee loader, but after watching your video I total understand what's what! Lee should pay you as the instruction you get with the loader are rubbish! Compared to your video. Thank you! From me from Down Under. (Australia)
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to do this and sharing your knowledge.
Outstanding video, Very well presented and professionally articulated information,
I was trying to convince myself not to buy the Loadmaster, But now I'm convinced i want one, AND i can get one of these to operate correctly based on this video
I have used a 4 hole turret for many years and 10's of thousands of rounds, in many calibers I have had very good results with it, this would be the next step for me,
I loved the conversation on the oil can in the comments below ....funny..... those ball fittings were common on lathes and other machinery in years past :-) Great instruction video !!!
Excellent presentation. Vibration during sizing is one of the main reasons that primers get tipped or off-center. Using a little alcohol+lanolin lube on pistol cases reduces the shock of sizing. Even with carbide, there can be some binding.
Thank you for putting this video together, it is very well done and very informative.
GunBlue490 ...The Professor. I learned a lot from you. Thanks.
+Jason Boudreaux Thank you, Jason.
I agree...
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you . Greetings from Germany
Outstanding tutorial. I thought I heard 7/16" when you were explaining using the pencil as a gauge. Perhaps you meant 5/16" ? Now to watch Part 2 😊
Single best video on UA-cam!
Thank you sir, I appreciate your tutorial and your great attention to detail 10/10!
Thank you for this video series! I am on the fence between this or a Dillon, This unit was intimidating to me and seems like a Rube Goldberg but after adjusted it seems to crank out the bullets. Still trying to decide!
New to the reloading game with the lee 1000...thanx for the video...I'm excited to make my ammo..🤙🤙
You mention that you've been using the press for a long while, a cleaning tutorial would be awesome ^_^
Great Video. Just got my new loadmaster today. That Oil hole for the ram is not on this new press.
I have one without that too. I suppose I'll just apply oil directly to the ram.
Great info, but curious as to why use a separate recapping die instead of the combined recap/resizing die?
Thank you very much for such a thorough setup tutorial. This should be required viewing for all Loadmaster owner. My Loadmaster will be here later this coming week and I need to ask a question: considering all the moving parts and need for periodic adjustments, how much space on the bench is needed on the right side of the press (from operator position)?
Very good!!! Could you make a video showing how to change the gauge? Carlos - Rio de Janeiro Brazil
@@GunBlue490 Thank you very much for your reply back.
I have a new in box older model, and going from a lee single stage to this its just tiring. Watching this now i know i need to go take that machine down to bare bones and lube everything and inspect. Great video!
