64 Ford 2000 Gas Tractor First Run In 5 Years

- After 5 years, the 64 Ford 2000 is running and bushhogging for the first time in 10 years. Started out good but was cut short due to a leaking radiator hose but I’m still very thrilled with the way it ran and operated.

Runs and sounds good....old tractors can be a pain to figure out sometimes... awesome ...
They can be at times but I would much rather work on this one than my newer one. Isn’t too much to troubleshoot on this old piece of iron verses that other all electronic thing I call a tractor most days.... the other days I have a few choice words I prefer to call it

What coolant do you put in the tractor I want to know what to put in mine
I just run 50/50. 50% green antifreeze and 50% water.
Three words - Neutral Safety Switch.
She’s a little too old for a neutral safety switch… only safety feature on that ole girl is the kill switch to the coil I put on it. Other than that, slam the throttle all the way forward and it cuts the fuel off.

Yessir! She’s got a few more bugs and some sheet metal work to iron out but I love it! There’s something about an old tractor that gets my heart pumpin lol
