Do you think powercreep is going to be an issue in Wuthering Waves with how many characters we already have planned?
I mean, we all know Jinhsi is strong at the DPScreenshot right..? (Just started the video)
Jinhsi dmg profile is at the end mostly, so people thinking powercreep is just... 1 screenshot taken out of context 😂😂
Everyone can be strong even if some are powercrept.

don't think powercreep would be a problem until content are starting to get harder and harder within the same level realm.
she is broken but no more than how broken Jiyan is.
@@DlSappeared the thing is, even if the content is easy, some characters are going to excel in that content, and by definition, that makes them more op.
you can still clear the content easily without them, but having them makes it even easier because they're just better.
And that's what people mean by tiers and power creep
It is like you say, it's not actually a problem for the game unless it's pvp or they start balancing content around the more op characters.
but most likely as more content comes out some characters will fall into obscurity, having some characters just being outright better at everything.
So it's never a bad thing to nip imbalance in the butt early before you start needing bigger balance patches

I think the reason Jinhsi is so good is because she’s kind of an archon figure. She’s pretty much the dragon goddess of jinzhou.

As long as the base content does not render standard characters completely useless, and they, along with potential new units, can clear it just fine, then there is nothing to worry about.
There is already a clip comparing S6 Jiyan and S6 Jinhsi with S5+ Mortefi that complete the tower stage at around 1 sec difference (Interestingly, Jinhsi will be a bit behind if one of her nuke not crit).
The game is surprisingly balanced at this stage.
but that's a flawed test because mortefi doesn't give jinshi any incandance stacks because her attacks are considered as skill damage and mortefi's coordonated attacks don't trigger from it, and it is a HUGE part of jinshi's DPS
@@FlareBlossom depends on the rotation u do, start on mortefi, switch to ur 3rd, do there rotation, (usually verina) then switch to jinhsi, u still gain forte for jinhsi from another character hitting with mortefi's ult on them, u can also just stay on mortefi to atk some bc u gotta build his outro anyways so jinhsi can perform her intro which is where alot of her dmg buffs comes from
@@FlareBlossom Correction: Doesn't give during enhanced basic attack, but gives during other's and Mortefi attack and Jinhsi normal skill button press. That is still considerable amount of stacks along with Mortefi's own unnegligible damage on both teams.

I like how you pointed out the team building aspect. This game is so early that there’s a lot of gaps in possible rosters and support-DPS pairings, and there are many ways for Kuro to balance the game through that.
they can start to introduce more outroskills like verina where u get buf from that specific char +diff one imagine add mortefi and someone diffrent who buff heavy attack dmg too but for the whole team than this ration will go like new char>mortefi>jiyan
I feel like you summarized it well: the current 3 limited 5 star characters all contribute to the team very highly in different ways. Yin Lin has super strong off-field damage and allows another DPS to take field time, Jiyan deals a lot of damage continuously with his ult, and then Jinhsi needs to work hard for stacks and unleashes a huge nuke: the collective overall damage of the team is roughly the same, just achieved differently.
Work hard = a level 40, S0, unleveled Echoes, and blue weapon Yuanwu dropping his pillar.
@@zippo718Just so u know its nearly impossible to get jinhsi full stack in 1 rotation even with mortefi and yinlin with Verina and yuanwu you get mostly 20-30 which scale down the dmg by a lot also the longer jinhsi needed to collect stack the higher chance of her dying in high level enemy like hazard tower and tactical v

@@zippo718brother there’s no world where Jinhsi gets full stacks from 0 on her team’s first rotation without wasting a ridiculous amount of time. She only gets guaranteed full stacks from her outro or her skill’s every once in a while.

Except ling yang, he got totally lost his only unique position to jinsi [That can fly.].
He needs a desperate buff, and the community won't stop trashing him until they do so.
Funny thing is... the fact they released jinsi and chang li in this way means the future units would definitely be adapting to this kind of style of gameplay. Otherwise, they won't be able to sell them properly anymore. Peeps are rather picky...
I think most of the roster is in great shape for the foreseeable future, but certain standard characters like Linyang, Calcharo, and Encore are the most likely to be powercrept but players will naturally get their sequence nodes from just pulling, so it isn't a huge issue to me.
biggest mistake is going all in for calcharo not knowing that verina is a necessity to finish the tower 😢

dude, it's gacha it's normal to power creep.
WW is already doing multi-team events like Tower. So having more built characters is would be a good investment. especially with the buff cycling in team comps.
PGR currently has a game mode that requires 5 teams of 3 members to get all the rewards.

Damn maybe im just overreacting but that last line was so good it perfectly encompasses why I love Wuwa so much.
And plus, the ultimate mindset in Wuthering Waves is that "powercreep will never solve your skill issue"
Well, all my other characters doesn't even felt much weaker now. Actually, they are much stronger right now because I level them up lol.
My Yinlin still slaps just as good as Jinhsi, so I don't think it's quite powercreep

theyre both arent in the same role teamwise so comparing the two is just pointless.

Then you didnt build Jinhsi right. And the disparity only grows with sequences. I could honestly stick Jinhsi in as a dual dps (with a dps Yuanwu, for example, and not focus solely on Jinhsi) and outperform Yinlin teams. Jinhsi's rotation is not much slower than Yinlin's, and you get all the damage right at the end of her rotation. You could main Yuanwu, swap her in and nuke within 5 seconds, and repeat.
I'm just happy my S6 Yuanwu finally got his BIS main dps atm and is no other than the magistrate of Jinzhou. Will probably built my S5 Taoqi soon because healers don't appeal to me as much as shielders.
Also, looking forward to what Kuro be cooking in hopes that my boy Aalto could shine more especially with his heavy attack kit.

never thought i'd be building him but gotta get him to 60/70 for that last skill node
Yuanwu and Jianxin were underrated, with Yuan wu was the only one to easily stagger bosses easily. I had him with my electro rotation, however, skill issue took a toll lmao! So i took Verina instead.

WuWa day 1 player has been calculating her total power and performance with Jiyan (with respective Signature weapon), the different is only 15% at most.
and considering that Jiyan is a wheelchair character. You can literally just close your eyes and parry every attack.
@@wagyubeefpatty3570 yeah. His ult basically automatic parry mode, he's sweeping the floor with decent build. My jiyan has 202% cdm with 47% cr, and his dragon could hit up to 47k when it crits. Not crazy i know but it's a shit build.

Standard 5 stars will typically get power crept by limited 5 stars. But I agree with you, I think it's too early to tell about power creep in the game's current patch.
But otherwise power creep really doesn't matter so long as you're having fun playing the character 😅

I think the crazy screenshot damage came from Jinhsi with higher sequence. Other than that, I think mostly she did fine number with S0 which 95% most players are having rn.
She still does 250k nukes at S0 comfortably with minimum investment teammates. There are videos with a low level Yuanwu and level 1 Taoqi 3-starring Tower. But you do need some skill to pull it off.

Nope. Mine lvl 70 with jiyan signature deals 100k max stack on crit all lvl 6 talents and plus 25 echos. 43311. Not sure what “minimum” investment you’re talking about but 250k seems like some pretty high investment shit.
@@zippo718because tower is giving her massive dmg boosts right now. She gets 90% dmg boost for the mid tower and accelerated stacking on the right one.
I mean yes jinhsi does bigger numbers than jiyan but jiyan can legit be played by a 90 year old grandma and they will look like a king of the game

It's kinda funny that low-tier units like Yuanwu and Taoqi became Jinshi's best supports as of now.
Encore still has the highest DPS threshold and is only gonna go up once Changli is introduced lmao

See pgr ( from Kuro game as well ) : start with very basic holy trinity team , atker - tanker - healer ( even thought tanker in pgr do -def job )
the chars release after only replace spots in team but core game play switch each char to boost the team total dmg oput one not changed , some char can operated alone ( 2 other chars only for qte effect job ) but full switch still needed to get max dmg output .
Kuro's 4+ years experience developed + running pgr will not be vain .
I don't mind if a new character is stronger this early, from what I understand, Jinhsi is not that much stronger than Jiyan, and as long as they are viable I feel it is ok.
I saw a Jinhsi beat Hologram VI in 0 seconds.
Took my jinyan to clear a tacet field...he took too long to finish it even with his signature weapon....while my changli without her signature destroyed the tacet field in a few sec....iwas dissappointed
A lot of people seems to doesn't figure out that Jinhsi is the "Archon"-like of Wuthering Waves, directly blessed by a Sentinel. And in that sense, I personally think it's okay for her to be somewhat Broken.
The main thing kuro has is they deal with powercreep really well. In pgr they provide "leaps" which gives new passive/effects to old characters even the ones that are equivalent to 4 star. Sure even maxed out old characters gets powercreep by new and meta ones but they get enough powerboost that they become viable for end game and that in my opinion is the proper way to deal with powercreep. I hope they do it for wuwa after a year or two.
i mean in lore they have second resonance awakening. I guess its their way to introduce leap in the future

What i dont like is Jinhsi's weapons base crit rate is lower than Yinlins. And that should be swapped if Jinhsi is supposed to be the main dps.
The base attack is a bit higher in exchange, that actually lets her reach higher potential damage.
They made based line of limited 5 stars too high, the AoE of skill, effect make standard 5 stars look likes 4 stars.
Power creep is only a real thing if the content gets harder patch to patch and it hasn’t so far with 1.1 Tower and holograms won’t get any harder or easier and that’s the only hard content I mean if you care about clear times then Sure but who really cares about clear time 😂

Yea they can release newer better gear but then youre farming it and wasting resources to mildly increase your damage on an old character instead of investing into a new one to diversify your roster. There's no way to effectively combat power creep except to not allow it in the first place. In Kurogames we trust i guess.

Jinhsi's overall calculations are very similar to Jiyan; he also has a much better time in wave content and has way more consistent and less crit-dependent damage.
Imagine all that set up for Jin Hsi and not critting on skill and ultimate - 30% total DPR loss 🤣🤣🤣 yeah right powercreep damage per screenshot we are so screwed. I know Kuro knows how to cook with characters to make them interesting.
But it's funny when you have an attractive market u also invite some 'people' that thinks 1 instance of damage being way bigger but needs a setup - some time to prepare, and has a chance to miss as well😅 - being a major powercreep meanwhile being averaging just a bit better from others (and again, with risks).
I'm not downplaying people contributing their opinion about jinhsi, u think mechanically her caveats are mitigated by her stack gaining after 4th stage skill gaining easier stacks for the next skill (forte gauge) damage bonus. But do people realize she does wet noodle damage onfield before the final damage? Like other than the notable enhanced skill 2nd stage and 3rd then 4th, and intro skill when crit, the basic attacks albeit beautiful and not a low damage adding up with the final skill and ultimate - is so low compared to her final dragon breath. Just try it on the same enemy u can test out, oh and the time it took for you to fully get consistent almost full forte stacks as well at s0 r0 OR r1 and compare it to DPR jiyan.
But yeah who am i kidding, most people come to gacha and relieve their opinions when something remotely looking like super powerful - they probably don't care if they're wring or not. So yah its a power creep
Powercreep in WUWA will be very noticeable compared to Genshin, as characters having different elements in WUWA doesn't have much difference, in Genshin though due to their elemental reactions there can be 7 different units with the same role depending on your team
I'd think of characters' "damage type" as their actual element, with it being either basic atk, heavy atk, resonance skill, or resonance liberation given how there are defined outro skill buffs for all of these roles.
Kuro is likely never going to release another Aero Heavy Attacker like Jiyan, any other aero units will likely have a different damage type.
This basically reserves a spot to give him a dedicated support in the future if needed that heavily buffs aero dmg% and heavy attack dmg%, to whatever degree he needs to keep up in the meta. That support would still be usable for other aero units or other heavy attackers, but would give Jiyan the best possible bonuses.
Jinhsi reaching upto 200k at S0 proves it anyway. Since reactions are absent, there isn't much in the kits department to work with. Most dps's will keep on replacing the older ones, the latter ones getting benched as well. Sure you can argue "it's about skill", but if a DPS shortens my fights by 20% due to higher DPS, it means I now have to deal with 20% less enemy attacks as well, more time spent in battles = more risk. Regardless of the so called "Skillz" that the community keeps ranting about, powercreep will be quite apparent here.
And this doesn't even touch the subject of signature/gacha weapons outweighing f2p/event ones by a long shot.

And Jiyan still have other benefit with good crowd control that makes u able to gather all enemy (which makes him DPS wise on Normal mob much better than Jinhsi, ToA mostly normal mob before boss fight)
I don't think powercreep is exist yet because Kuro make each character do different thing

@@manyblock4192yes, not to mention damage profile like off fielder dps, off fielder support, burst quick swap dps, burst but NOT quick swap like jinhsi (compared to sanhua's dmg profile). So i while i think lazy people in the community saying 'get good you sore loser' to justify bad or monotone character design is dum dum. I think there's also room for introspection to ourselves when you don't really exactly know why JinHsi does 10 to 20% better but with caveats apparent, while also taking out of the power budget of the aero DPS' CC - it's okay if jiyan is mostly single target, but clearly his heavy attacj ease of parry and heavy CC on mobs have an effect on certain content where JinHsi cannot freely deal damage, so powercreep is only happening when the power budget set by the trend so far being blown to smithereens by 1 unit. And that - my friend did not happen at all.
