- @patijinich asked her friends and followers what she #MustEat in Detroit on social media. They responded she must have a Detroit Coney Dog. But there's a dilemma... some people swear by American Coney Island and others swear by Lafayette Coney Island for their dogs. Pati is being forced to choose which one she likes best.

Hola Pati. I'm from a small town southwest of Detroit and coney dogs are popular here also. Each coney place has a different style of coney meat sauce. So delicious !!

The best hot dog in America folks, they use koegel vienna hot dog, you can order them online, get the 10lbs box (about 80 dogs) and vacuum seal them in groups of 8 and freeze them.
Pati, what do you think of Vernor's Ginger Ale ? Have you had it before? Did you go to Mexican Town area while in Detroit?

I don’t doubt that the hotdog at either of these places are good. However, as a native New Yorker, who repatriated to my ethnic homeland of Brooklyn a decade and a half ago, I don’t understand why anyone, if they were making a high quality frank, would smother it in chili, mustard, and onions. Would I be psyched to eat chili, mustard, and onions on a toasted bun? Absolutely!
However, if I’m dealing with a purveyor of a truly virtuosic hot dog (at the moment, only Feltman’s, Gray’s, and possibly Katz’s do it for me), all I want is a dog on a toasted bun… no condiments.
You're missing out. This is the classic coney dog 🐕
